It's the perfect brick and mortar/ walkable town experience. When I went in, I felt like I was in a different era. The building itself has so much character and such a unique layout, I felt like I was Travis Bickle from taxi driver in that scene where he gets off his shift and goes to a movie theater after (but in a wholesome way of course). It's so assuring to know that places like this are still out there. If you're a Chico local or just blowing through the town, be sure to make a stop here because you definitely won't regret it. The bathrooms are really clean and have a lot of stalls, so unlike the big cities, I'm not ever waiting in a long line to use the restroom. The vibe is so relaxing, fun and comfortable. The last 10-15 years, whenever I go to the movies in the bigger cities, it kind of stresses me out lol -like, order tix online to be sure to get a seat or pick your seat online etc. I'm just over it and love how this reminds me of going to the movies when I was little in the early 80s. It's just a simple, well priced, good time. And even in the heat or cold, the parking is so close to the place that, unlike other places, I don't have to battle the elements and walk hella far fr the parking spot to the inside lobby. And inside is nice and small too- the big city theaters have become so huge it's so much walking and waiting in lines. Staff attitudes in the larger theaters are also not great, whereas, we've been coming here now for 5 years and are always met w the friendliest staff. I love this theater.

It takes 2 minutes to google how much they charge and spoiler alert...it's 700% of what they buy their supplies for. Overall, not a great experience. I agree with others that their snack selection could be a little more varied. I love their popcorn and either get a big gulp of Coca-Cola or an Icee. And I also agree that the snacks can be a little expensive. But since I don't come here too often, I don't have a problem with it. Also, use the Cinemark app. You can earn points to get rewards, such as discounts on snacks. The theater is pretty clean for the most part. Occasionally you will sit in a row with a sticky seat or carpet, but I guess that is to be expected when people take snacks in and get excited watching a movie. Service here is fine. I've never had a negative experience with it. This movie theater is fortunately close to where I live, which I just love. It's also in a nice area. You can hit up the nearby Starbucks if you want to hang out with friends after the movie.

Yeah, popcorn and a drink cost a few bucks. But, it was worth it. The theater seats are comfortable and each armless has a cupholder large enough for the mega sodas they serve. I was pleased with the viewing experience of the movie. The sound was quite good as well. I came back a few days later to see the movie again, it was that good! Very uncomfortable after three hours. 3) They never turned off the overhead lights!! What in the world? That deserves a refund on the spot. 4) The sound was ridiculously loud. Yes, I expect the sound to be loud in IMAX but turning the volume up to 11 doesn't mask the fact that you're using older technology. 5) This is not the fault of the theater, but we had a terrible audience. If you need someone to explain the movie to you, blow by blow, maybe read up ahead of time and come back later. Constantly being on your phone.
