They used my yard to take down neighbors tree. Broke the fence and half-assed fixed it. Fixed broken sprinkler head. They tore up my yard and destroyed 1/3 of 30 years of bulb growth. The rest is dying. We were told they would do nothing to rectify or pay for damage. Their job couldn't have been done without our help. And, we didn't charge them for use!! Poor service! Clean up was terrible! I should have charged them for use of my yard!! Never recommend them!!! read more

Arnoldo came out to my home to give me an estimate for the 6 trees that needed pruning. He is also very professional, a great listener and easy to talk to. I got my estimate and it was very reasonable for the amount of work to be done. I chose this company because every interaction showed how professional they are. I got a written detailed estimate sent to my email. The other companies I called were not professional. I asked the estimator who gave me a written estimate if he could put a little more detail into what his company was actually going to do. He told me to find another company. The last company gave me a verbal bid and I asked him to have his office send me a written quote. Never got this written quote. So Sierra Tree Company was professional in every way. Everyone who works at this company is a true professional. From the person who answers the phone to the estimator (Pablo) to the person in charge of securing tree removal permits (Gerrie/Gerardo), to the workers to the owner (Arnoldo) ... at every stage of engagement I had an excellent experience with the company. After being burned by another tree service (we paid money for which no service was ever rendered) I went to Yelp and talked to three tree service companies. Pablo arrived early (everyone else was either late or a no-show) and sent an estimate as soon as he returned to the office. Getting a permit to remove a heritage tree isn't easy. But Gerardo hung in there with us and working together we were able to secure the necessary permit. The following day, a crew showed up. It took four days to remove the 60-foot Redwood that was wreaking havoc on our home's foundation. It took an entire day to remove the tree's stump. Sierra Tree Company's employees are hard-working and Arnoldo worked alongside his employee to get that stump out of our yard. Do not hesitate to hire this company. Thank you Arnoldo & Sierra Tree Company! We had a wind storm role through our area last night which toppled our tree, adjacent to the street, into the street in the early morning hours. The city came by and quickly removed the branches that were blocking the street. I knew the rest was on me to find someone to clean up the remainder. I hopped onto Yelp and messaged Sierra Tree (and a few others tacked onto the quick quote message). Arnoldo, in the early morning hours, surprisingly responded fairly quickly. We messaged back and forth, and he said he'd be out by 7am. Meanwhile another company also messaged me and came before Arnoldo. I had a feeling they were looking for a fast buck and inflated the price. Arnoldo came around a few minutes later (actually before 7am) and gave me a good, honest quote (that was considerably less than what the previous service had quoted me). He said his crew was just starting a job a short distance away and they'd be at my house within the hour. The crew arrived right on time, about 8am, Arnoldo shortly after. They made short work of the tree and did a great job cleaning up. By 9am, you never would have known a tree, a few hours earlier, was creating a nuisance in the middle of the road. Sierra Tree Company removed two shrubs that were too close to house, trimmed the redwood tree, pruned back plum trees, took down a dead apple tree, and ground stumps--all at a reasonable price. Workers were on time and efficient. Pablo, the foreman was very helpful and responsive. When my regular tree pruner couldn't accommodate our time frame I went looking for someone new. I called 5 companies, only 3 called me back. Sierra was the first to come out to view the job and I gave Jerry my wish list. When the quote came in, it listed separately each item in detail. Since it included items in addition to my 2 basic requests, it was over our budget, but Jerry worked with me to get it in line with our needs. When all 3 quotes were in, they were within $100 of each other for the most important items we needed, however, Jerry's team impressed me with their feedback during our initial meeting and we moved forward. They ended up providing more value for the money than any previous pruning on the same 2 giant trees including our 100ft camphor. I just had Sierra Tree Company complete a job for me. I have a large tree in my front yard that needed cutting back because it was shading the plants underneath too much and starting to encroach on the phone lines. There is also a large tree in the back that had a lot of dead wood on it that needed cutting so it wouldn't fall on the roof this winter. They did both of these jobs in a professional manner and cleaned up afterwards. Their price was about half of a couple of other quotes I had gotten and they did a great job. We had a branch of our oak tree that we wanted removed everyone else quoted us dramatically higher costs and didn't seem willing to just remove the limb and not haul it away. Arnoldo came and gave us a quote Thursday night and had time to do the job Monday morning. I put out a message on yelp to see if I could get someone to come out and give us an estimate to cut our tree above our deck. It was blocking our solar and it was a little tricky because of the angle that it is growing. Arnoldo messaged me within twenty minutes and I called him to set up a time for the estimate. This was Wednesday and he came on Friday morning, showing up right on time. He checked it out and gave us a very reasonable estimate and the best part was that he had availability that Sunday. We have hired other very "popular" companies in the past and two other times and really didn't feel like it was worth the price, so I was skeptical prior to contacting Sierra Tree Company. They worked very quickly, but were very professional and deliberate to make sure they kept the shape of the tree attractive and in line with what they weren't going to be cutting back. The branches were right above our deck and they were very careful not to drop the large branches and skillfully lowered them to miss anything of value.
