The proprietor, Stacy, was simply wonderful and told many entertaining tales and provided great advice for our stay in Waterton. The views from the upstairs rooms of Waterton are great and everyone can enjoy the upstairs deck with striking views of the entire area. At night, the galaxy is easily visible and I was able to take some great pictures of it. It is just a very short walk to Cameron falls as well as nice beaches on Waterton Lake. Altogether, I cannot recommend this place high enough!

Every morning there was fresh muffins and tea/coffee for all before people head out for the day. Can be a little crowded in the morning in the lounge but only because everyone is there at the same time. Lovely wrap around porch to enjoy the afternoon sunshine and view. Really love that they have kept the lounge area like a home - makes it feel cozy and would be great if the weather was bad. Clean rooms, enough blankets, heater if it gets very cold, good advice on places to eat and hikes, plus a 10 minute stroll into town. It looks further away on a map but is literally around the corner. Word of advice with all the guests at hotels mainly there for hiking a lot of the restaurants in town close early around 9pm so bear that in mind when planning dinner out. Highly recommend this spot and would happily stay again - sad they are not open in winter as planning a snowshoeing trip for later in the year. Room Tip: Stayed #9 Cowboy Room - on-suite, spacious, outside entry on the ground floor. Only real noise is if you have kids running on the patio/deck upstairs and really only in the day.

They manage all of these nice cabins on the hill overlooking St Mary. Cabins were very clean and had everything we needed. Terry gave us some history of the area and provided suggestions for places to eat and the best trails to hike. Throughout the 3 days we spent there, I had the pleasure of learning the rich history about Sally's father and family who essentially built St Mary when he worked as a ranger and started to acquire land in the 1920's. We found the cabins to be clean and well appointed. The hosts, Sally and Terry are very helpful. What did we enjoy most? It has to be the view from the cabin. It is a five star view! We also enjoyed the very close access to St Mary entrance to the park (less than a mile from our door to the ticket booth) and that we are between both Many Glacier and Two Medicine. Come prepared as there's not much in the way of groceries, medicine or other shopping. I believe the locals need to head west to Columbia Falls, Kalispell and whitefish for that. There is a nearby farmers market in Saturdays.

It was the 1st of April and still iffy weather. When we drove up no one was at the office but the gal came down from the house and rented us a cabin. Winter rates were not bad for what you get. All separate little cabins. Inside a queen bed, table with chairs, microwave, small refrigerator, snacks, coffee, coffee pot dishes, tv, sitting chairs, bathroom fully stocked with all the essentials like shampoo, lotion, mouthwash, floss and even chapstick. Nice touches. The rooms are quaintly decorated with cabin theme decor. TV has dish network and wifi was nice since cell service is nonexistent so you can call out through wifi. Bed was extremely comfortable and the cabin was cozy. They could of used a little better window coverings as if someone came up to your door they could see right in. Great place to stay if you're looking for somewhere to stay in the area.

Birch Meadows Lodge B & B is a beautiful home about 5 minutes from the Fernie ski resort. It's…read morenicely tucked away up a little road in the mountains off the highway. (If you are there in the winter, be sure to have either a 4 wheel drive vehicle or some tire chains handy.) There's the main house as well as a couple of log cabins set on over 50 acres of breathtaking mountain views. My husband and I have stayed there a few times in the last two years...we couldn't imagine saying anywhere else when we head to Fernie! We like to stay in of the little log cabins, which are cozy and nicely decorated. There's a small gas fireplace to curl up in front of after a long day on the slopes and out the window you have perfectly an unobstructed view of the surrounding mountains. Outside there's a large hot tub next to the main house as well as a nice sitting area indoors with games and movies that can be taken back to your room/cabin for the night. Sonya and Marcel are wonderful hosts...they make you feel right at home! The breakfasts are always delicious with a nice selection of different items & treats. We always leave stuffed! If you are an animal lover, remember to bring some carrots for Slider (resident horse) and give lots of cuddles to the owners friendly dogs. Birch Meadows is the perfect place to stay when in Fernie...you won't want to leave!
