I started shopping here few months ago. I find their selections simple yet elegant. While the price point is higher, they carry very high end products and quality is top-notched. Their staff are extremely helpful too. It's true you can find some of these same brands at Neiman or Bloomie's, the service here is no comparison. I would much rather support local small business. This boutique is beautifully curated. The interior is so calming and elegant and aligns with the timeless apparel and accessories they offer. I appreciate and enjoy luxurious fabrics and clothing and this boutique really does a fine job of catering to those who enjoy spending money on the finer things in life. Even though I could, I find it really difficult to spend $700 on a sweater that my dogs with destroy in five minutes or that I might drop a crumb from my chocolate chip cookie on... I wish they had a slightly smaller price point option because I really wanted to purchase something fabulous from here just to say I did. The owner and the sales associates were all very pleasant, friendly and helpful. I just couldn't bring myself to purchase a $700 sweater which would need a pair of $800 pants and $900 pair of shoes to match. But, respectfully, that is what sets them apart from your average retailer and the average customer. I understand it and respect it. They are not selling clothing they are selling a lifestyle. If I had stupid money I would've bought half the store today. read more

Lovely boutique with superb customer service and quality items. Strolling through la Jolla for fabulous boutiques, this one's window display pulled me in. I immediately found two cotton blouses that I knew I needed, and tried on a few more. As I tried on the few items that initially caught my eye, Carla brought several other items she thought I would appreciate that were my style. The designers they carry here are either Italian or American. 100% of their products are well-made and gorgeous. Luckily for me, I found a particular parka by Heron that I have been searching near and far for. This Italian line has the right fit for my petite frame, and contours with one's silhouette the way Balmain jackets do. Came here while wandering aimlessly on my lunch break, needing an anniversary gift for my wife. Time was running out and on a whim I decided to see what Sigi's had. I'm so glad that I stopped in! The lady that helped me was very nice and patient, and asked questions about my wife's preferences and style. We decided on a necklace and she even gift wrapped it for me. My husband bought me 2 fitted button down shirts for Christmas ($295/each). One was Giangi brand, 100% cotton. Fit me perfectly. Wore it twice, then took to dry cleaner, who shrank it to the extent that the button at the bust would not close. We stopped into the store and spoke to the owner, Phyllis, telling her that the dry cleaner had asked for the manufacturers' exact dimensions for that exact shirt (so that he could objectively know if he shrank it). Phyllis promised to reach out to Giangi (located in Italy) and get back to us in a "couple of days". A "couple of days" turned into more than 6 weeks. I finally got the measurements after my 7th follow up call over this time period. For the price point, this lack of customer service and professionalism is unacceptable imo. Buyer beware. read more

This boutique is wonderful & the type that is getting hard to find these days! They have so many nice things that you just won't find in larger stores- especially some great European designers and some smaller American labels. I always find great gifts here because they have a good price range for their jewelry and shawls. The staff is so nice too & they even keep doggie treats on hand. I've never been in this store, and I never will. I'll tell you why. I was shopping in a local boutique down the street and I was trying some clothes on. In the dressing room, it was easy to hear the ruckus going on out in the store. A woman walked in and introduced herself as the owner of Sigis and demanded to speak to a manager. She must not have realized there were any customers in the store since I was tucked away in a fitting room. She then proceeded to yell at the girl working (not even their manager, they told her that she had stepped out for a second) in regards to signage placed outside their store for a charity event, claiming that it was "extremely tacky" and that "many of her customers complain about how horrid it is". She continued ranting about how it was "illegal" in La Jolla to have signs outside your store, etc. I was stunned at the audacity of this woman and felt terrible for the girl working! As such, I would never patronize a place where the business owner bullies neighboring businesses. And the best part? Sigis has a sign outside of their boutique as well. A sale sign - maybe business isn't doing well. read more

The store employees were incredibly friendly and helpful. And the accessories and jewelry seemlessly incorporated modern flare with traditional concepts. While having breakfast with friends,at the nearby Colonial hotel, we decided to stop at SIGI's since the front display caught our attention- granted we were not wearing our Sunday "best" given that we all had just finished dropping kids at the local elementary school- that being said , the treatment received was appalling. We were admiring the stunning scarves on the front window and not once any of the two ladies by the register acknowledge our presence. Our friend inquired as to the scarf and one of the ladies curtly said: "six fifty...that is six hundred fifty" - the price was shocking however more shocking was the attitude of the woman-rude and crass- she made an assumption based on her own limited life experiences and prejudices and completely on outward appearances. Based only on the treatment received I will never patronize this shop which is a neighborhood shop for me and will resign myself to sponsor other local businesses in which clients are treated with dignity and respect...and those are few and far between in La Jolla. read more

This is the first review I have ever written, but I am so grateful that this store exists that I feel I have to say something. I live in New York City, but for the last several years my job has taken me to San Diego several times a year. A few years ago on a day off, I wandered into La Jolla and discovered Sigi's. I am so delighted I did. The clothes are absolutely beautiful and range in style and price, and the sales women are wonderful. They are always so helpful and friendly without being overbearing. This shop reminds me of the kind of places that used to be very common in Manhattan but are now sorely lacking as 5th and Madison avenues and even Greenwich Village are increasingly populated with international franchises. I (and now my college age daughter) look forward to my San Diego trips so I can see what new things the shop has to offer. read more
