I have to go to Las Vegas 6x per year. This is my #1 thing to do on my free time. Located at the D Casino, 2nd floor, on Fremont Street. This is the last Sigma Derby in the world. Made in 1986, It is not the same as Fortune Derby you will find at other establishments. 5 horses circle the track, and 2 will win the race. Up to 10 players can play at the same time. The winning horses are totally at random, there is no pattern. You can play for as little as .25 cents for 1 of 10 options or up to 10 bets on each combination for $ 2.50 to guarantee a win. You can also bet multiple times on each as well. Truly old Las Vegas, when it was fun. I usually play for 6 hours it's so addicting. Free Drinks ( always tip the server!). Sometimes, it's really a party atmosphere with everyone routing for their horses. I've met a few locals who play this 7 days a week!

If you can see this piece of history put some coins in it and get caught up in the excitement! You will not regret it!

I was here three years ago and my friends walked me up and down the strip for an entire week stopping at every casino asking the question of where the heck is the horse game? We couldn't find it so when I saw the review on YELP I bookmarked so I could come check it out. It was a TON OF FUN! There is a spot for 10gamers a change machine on site to get quarters and in the 3hours I spent there I only saw 1 empty spot. This is by far the only game Ive seen that gets the players as well as the crowd that gathers so engrossed they yell and scream at the horses like they were at the track themselves. There was a group from Germany there last night and speaking German a little I loved listening to them and watching their excitement. These guys were even making side bets out side of the game and I was just waiting for security to come put a stop to our fun. Outside of the machine breaking down three times in the time I was there we were left alone and it was an amazing time. CHECK THIS GAME OUT ASAP it may end up in storage again soon.

    Fun old game.

Still alive and kicking as of Feb. 2016. Always loved this game and always will! Hit a 200/1 long shot on this exact machine last year.

When Circa Las Vegas opened in 2020, it was the first new hotel-casino built in downtown Las Vegas in forty years. Having followed its history and watched it take shape; I've always wanted to experience it as a (hotel) guest. Booking & Check-in:: I booked my room through Circa's website, which was simple and easy to use. When I arrived, the front desk found my reservation right away, and check-in was quick and stress-free. The desk clerk was friendly and helpful. Room Quality:: The room's furniture was well-kept, and free from excessive wear that might hint at heavy room turnover. The carpet looked fresh, with no stains or tears in sight. Regarding the bed, the sheets were crisp and bright white. The mattress, pillows and duvet were comfortable. Bathrooms are where you'll see the most wear and tear, but this one was spotless. The layout was well-arranged. The towels looked like new, with a heavy pile and a crisp, bright white color. Sometimes when I travel, I prefer a room that's comfortable without being so luxurious that I don't want to leave. Other times, I appreciate an inviting space to unwind in, and the rooms here fit that perfectly. The décor, color palette, and furnishings were all appealing. I've noticed many hotel rooms lack good lighting, but here there's plenty of it, plus the option to adjust it just how you like. Stadium Swim:: Circa features an impressive pool complex with massive stadium screens for catching sporting events. While relaxing at the pool, I enjoyed a daybed and had an attendant to take my food and drink orders. Naturally, outside food and beverages aren't allowed since they sell everything on-site. For security reasons, there are also restrictions on what you can bring into the compound. Lockers are available for rent if you happen to have prohibited items with you and don't want to return to your car or room. Before this stay, I have enjoyed the restaurants and gaming options on site. I utilized them during this stay. In fact, I have the Circa Sportsbook app on my mobile.

Yes, its further down from the chaotic center, but is that a bad thing? For this traveler thats sick of crowds, its a blessing. You can literally walk to Bagelmania, and that famous Mex al pastor taco place, Fountainebleu is right across, wonderful walking areas with an attached mall (ok the stores are whack as fuck but hopefully will be better), their street food court is so innovative and cool, always find some good things to eat here (the fried chicken was my fave, and somewhere had this hong-kong stlye pan wok'd noodles it was very good too.) Never crowded. Great colors and casino layout. The pool is very nice and easily in my top 5 in Las Vegas. The rooms are very modern and clean. Great bar called the Gatsby. Nice Mex Restaurant right when mall area starts near the back of the casino past the Gatsby bar, and a by-the-slice pizza place thats also very good. Wally's restaurant is somewhere I hope to try one day. LOTS of food options, even a buffet type, and an Eggslut-typa breakfast place, forgot the name. Great looking sportsbook and the western-like sportsbar next to it upon entrance both on the left. Theres also a steakhouse in a very bizarre location upper level and waaay to the left, isolated. Lots of places want to try in the future. If anything, it is a massive place when you venture out into the mall part (the convention and private event areas walk and walk and walk, too much empty room here, thats really the only flaw.) I have my top 5 places to stay in Las Vegas: 1) Durango, (this will never change) 2) Fountainebleu 3) Resorts World (a very close 3rd to FB) 4)Wynn (if you can afford without cramming 8 people in one room) 5) Aria If you want a shit show, stay at MGM, Bellagio, Caesars Paris, Flamingo, Planet Hollywood etc.) If you want simplicity and luxury feel without the massive crowds, come here. Resort has Crockford, Hilton, and Conrad for the rich. A regular room at Hilton did us just fine and it was beautiful, lobby smells great.

Absolutely the worst place to stay in vegas or even hang around. First of all when we went to check…read morein it took forever and the line wasn't moving. Took at least 30mins to even have the line move. Anyways after check in I asked to add an extra night and stay in the same room. I added the extra night through 3rd party website and they confirmed that it's ok to stay in same room but the system didn't update yet so just come back the following morning to pay the resort fee. Which I went to pay in the morning 7/8am. After paying they gave me new room keys so it works for the extra day as well. But tell me why there was no communication between any of the staff and the cleaning crew had came to our room later shortly after I had paid the resort fee and confirmed my extra night. Cleaning lady was rude too we explained to her how we have an extra night and she goes YOU DID??? Like please go speak with other staff before acting like that. To top off this horrible 1 star place we went downstairs to grab dinner at Juniors as it was really packed and looked like good food. Well, we went to the host stand and checked in for the wait. The host Liz told us 5-10 mins and we went off the side to wait. While waiting my friend wanted to go to the casino to play a hand of blackjack. During this time my ID was upstairs in the hotel since I only planned on eating. I stood by the table waiting for my friend to finish. Dealer was super rude and unprofessional rudely asked ID and I told him I'm not playing I'll go back to the side of Juniors waiting for the food table. Anyhow, the dealer had to say "YOU CAN GO PLAY SLOTS BUT THEY WONT PAY YOU IF YOU DONT HAVE YOUR ID" Okay, we get it big guy, I told you IM NOT PLAYING, can we chill I'm literally just trying to enjoy my meal. Then literally that was 5 seconds we return to Juniors and some reason they switched hosts but we were just standing there waiting. No waitlist no number no names. So how do we even know when our table is ready? Liz was extremely rude to us told us you guys left so you have to wait another HOUR after 5 big groups. Horrible experience. She yelled at us with a rude attitude and face. I told her we literally went away for 5 seconds and was waiting for 30+ mins by the side. LIZ then goes I DIDNT SEE YOU!!!! screaming out a bitch face and wanted to fight us. LIZ said that she was told yea we have to serve people in order of the line so whoever is here in front of the stand will get to go in first. Well look she saw our backs turn and left to the side for less than 5 seconds but she never even bothered to let us know we have to wait in front of her face where she can see us to get seated. Well luckily our server Alberto was the best and amazing. He treated us 5/5 perfect props to him. Please give Alberto a raise he was doing his best while it was understaffed with literally just himself, he was literally running from kitchen to tables and cashier to make sure everyone's night was good. I really appreciate Alberto, resorts world please take care of him. Well after our food and some casino plays, my friend and I were trying to get back up to our hotel room but for some reason our card doesn't work for even the elevator. So we had to go to the front desk again to get that fixed. There was a huge line again for check-ins for some reason and it wasn't moving. So we went to the side and told one of the staff members to please update our card since we have a room and the key isn't leading us back up. Again staff was horrible with an attitude, she said yes go wait in that check in line. I don't know how does resorts world even operate. I have a room and already checked in but my room key for some reason doesn't work, why will I stand in line and waste 2 hours of my time just to update the key that was the hotel's error. Well, horrible place I wouldn't be surprised if this hotel/casino does close down. I hope they either train their staff with some manners or hire some new people that don't have the worst attitudes. Therefore, I will not be staying at resorts world ever again, I hope everyone else does not either.

I had no idea as morning nausea is not out of the norm for me as I go through this new "change of life". My friend and I did a early check in at 1 pm after arrive by plane at 8:10 am. I then went to take a nap around 2. I got up to go see Absinthe and then the other symptoms started. Basically I stayed in my room and bed the majority of the 2 night 4 day trip. Man let me tell you though that bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in at a hotel. I'm still wishing I was sleeping on that bed. On my last morning there I woke up with stomach pain feeling like i was going to vomit and or to say the least crap myself. I went into the bathroom and while there trying to figure out what my body was going to do my hearing started going muffled I started sweating as if the floor was opening up and hell was coming for me and the room started going dark. I knew I was going to pass out l. I quickly got up pulled my pants up and layed down on the cool tile floor. I then called for my friend. She came and called the front desk..They sent their security who is also a trained and certified EMT! After assessment they called for an ambulance to come take me to the hospital. When I came back from the hospital the hotel let me stay until we had to leave for the airport (which was not until the evening) so that I had a comfortable safe place to get more rest to make it home. The kindness and caring of the hotel and quickness to respond to me was superb! While there are so many places to choose from in Vegas to stay I would say with most certainty I will definitely have Flamingo at the top of my list to book for future stays. and I would encourage you to do so as well. You never plan for something like this to happen but if it ever does, knowing that you have people who care and help you navigate this while in an unfamiliar place makes you just a little less scared of the uncertainty. Thank you Flamingo for the kindness during my stay.
