I was looking for a place to print a photo and didn't want to go to those chain/conglomerates like UPS, Staples, blah blah blah. Found this spot on Yelp and was so happy with the place. It's a gorgeous space - modern and sleek with a kitchen even. Feels welcoming. Delroy helped me the moment I walked in, showing me how the photo would look in various sizes, on different kinds of paper. The photo looks gorgeous and I can't wait to give it as a gift. I was walking my dog Gerbert so only had my credit card and keys on me, and Delroy actually waived the dollar temporarily (too low for a credit card purchase) and said to come back and give it next time. That kind of trust and kindness is rarely found anywhere but an independent business. I'll be back - and with my $1 and more photos to print! 5 stars!!!!!! read more

Pretty high-prices for color copies. 55 cents a color copy. For 210 copies of a 2-page color document (420 total), it costs $231. No discounts? Do bulk ordering savings? My old copy place in Berkeley (I know this is Manhattan so it's different--whatever) charged me 25 cents a copy--less than half of this price. Sigh, NYC really is expensive. I must say I feel bad leaving a negative review, but I must share my experience. My better half and I were looking to print out some wedding invitations. My fiancée emailed Bryan and explained to him in detail about the printing material (the various paper sizes for each invite and paper type - which requires a print shoppe service). Bryan then replied with a quote which seemed rather reasonable for NYC, considering we were to provide the paper material. When we walked into the shoppe, we were first greeted nicely. When my fiancée started describing their email correspondence and produced the cards out of the bag, Bryan responded saying they DO NOT PRINT ON THE PAPER SIZES HE EARLIER CONFIRMED ON EMAIL. At that point we were confused, since we made our way downtown from the upper west side especially because of Bryan's indication the shoppe DOES provide the service we asked for. To make matters worse, Bryan accused us of being incompetent, at which point we were livid, rather than attempt to solve the problem, which I guess is the reason for this negative review. If Bryan had tried to rectify his mistake caused by miscommunication we would have been grateful. Rolling the ball back to us when we have an email correspondence indicating otherwise is hardly a New York City service. Stay away from these guys, awful service. read more

I've used The Copy Specialist several times for work related projects that are client facing. The turn around time has been exceptional and they are quick to respond via email. Just today I emailed a PDF at 10AM and needed 8 copies made by Noon. In less than an hour they emailed me back and had the copies ready. The quality of the product looks great too. I came to The Copy Specialist after reading many positive reviews at Yelp and was glad that I found this place! It's conveniently located right by Union Sq. They printed out some brochures and posters for my business and the material needed to be a high quality since they are for clients. What I like about this place is that they will test run for one copy and we have a chance to provide them a feedback -- sometimes, it came out too dark or light. They will adjust to your preference. I especially am thankful for one of their staff, Delroy. I was trying to find the right size and paper medium for my posters, he was very helpful and made an extra effort to get it done right and the quality of final product was really great. I won't go to FedEx ever again for they take so much time and charge so much more. read more

They were able to complete the job within a few hours. I docked one star because the cutting was less than perfect for half of my business cards. Excellent customer service! I emailed them with files for brochures I needed printed. There was a mixup where I didn't get a proof/price estimate/etc before printing. When I got an email saying they were ready a week later, I told them I didn't need them anymore. (Since I never heard from them I got them done via VistaPrint). They then said it was on the house and I could come get them for free! Bryan also introduced himself in person, shook my hand, and apologized for the mistake. They were very prompt with answering my inquiry email (which went ignored by the 3-4 other local print shops I sent one to) and were able to show me a physical proof within 24 hours after we discussed the print details.
