I knew exactly what I wanted - Rove 510 battery. Instead, Moe kept pushing me toward a Fernway battery. I told him what I wanted, but he insisted the Fernway was better. It was more expensive, but I figured maybe he knew what he was talking about. It had a cap, seemed more hygienic, so I trusted his recommendation and bought it. I also picked up a Jaunty Green Crack cartridge. A few days later, something happened that could have been seriously dangerous. The battery was OFF and sitting in my husband's pocket. Suddenly we started smelling something burning. We looked all over trying to figure out where it was coming from until my husband realized his chest was getting hot. We pulled the vape out of his pocket, and the entire glass cartridge had shattered. Oil was everywhere - inside his pocket, all over the battery - and the device was literally sizzling and smoking. We ended up throwing it into a bottle filled with liquid just to stop it from smoking. It was honestly terrifying to think about what could have happened if we hadn't noticed it when we did. That night I went back to the dispensary and spoke to Moe again, and somehow that experience was even worse than the first. He could not have cared less. No concern. No apology. No "I'm so sorry that happened." Nothing. He basically shrugged his shoulders and acted like it wasn't his problem. When I asked to speak with a manager, he told me nobody was available and that it wouldn't matter anyway because they'd just tell me the same thing. Look, I understand products can fail. That's not even what upset me the most. It's the complete lack of human decency. You convince me to buy something I didn't even come in for, charge me more for it, it fails in a way that could have seriously injured someone, and your response is essentially, "Not my problem." You can't even stand behind your own words. At the very least, replace the destroyed products, offer to contact the manufacturer, or show even an ounce of empathy. Instead, I walked out feeling like once they had my money, I no longer mattered. There are so many dispensaries in Queens that actually value their customers. I chose this one on a whim, and it was a huge mistake. Between the pushy sales tactics, the lack of product knowledge, and some of the worst customer service I've experienced in a long time, I will never be back. This experience just left me with such an icky feeling. Do yourself a favor and spend your money somewhere that actually cares about the people walking through the door.

I was in on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't busy. I usually go to the nearby, always busy Trader Joe's. They have organic coffee for $12-$14/ 12 oz, which is good compared to $17-20+. He set me up real quick with a P.B&J + Kale smoothie and some vegan patties: chicken, beef and lentil. They were so delicious. Before this place opened, if you wanted organic food, you'd have to hop a bus for about 40 minutes. Not pleasant! Since they opened, I've checked them out about once (or more) times a week and I must say that it gets better every time. The selection increases and I do believe they're also getting fresher items. Now, they've got a lot more organic fruits (mangoes - oh joy!, melons, lots of apples and pears). Plus they've got an array of specialty grains, nuts, and rice along with green and/or organic toiletries, cleaning products, and of course...Vitamins! They also have a deli where you can order organic sandwiches and such, but I don't have the menu with me to comment on it. The prices here are pretty standard as far as organic markets go. Some things I do wish they could finagle the price down with their wholesalers, so the retail price could be more reasonable (sigh), but all in all I can't complain. Organic costs, but do you really want to put a price on your health?... Who am I kidding?! Yes, factor in the cost while you shop. I set a budget for essentials and stick to it.
