With her seven years of experience, I could tell my newborn was in good hands right away. Her patience and ability to work with newborn babies is truly a talent! Prior to meeting, I had communicated with Michelle on Yelp and inquired her different packages, then signed a contract and paid a $50 deposit. Everything was pretty smooth and easy. The three packages are on her website, either basic, signature, or premium, and we went with the middle package - the signature, which was perfect for us. The middle package had 4 poses, swaddled, family included, and we received 50 photos! Fast forward to photoshoot morning - we followed directions to have baby fed and changed into a diaper by the time of her arrival. My son was 13 days old when she took photos in our home. She came with her props, accessories, and baskets all prepared! Michelle also brought a sound machine that had white noise playing to soothe the baby. She swaddled my son and every photo pose/ setup increased in difficulty but she was really patient and worked with my son who almost was so fussy he'd wake! I enjoyed that she brought different colors for swaddles and blankets and various types of hats for us to choose from. Furthermore, if you're like me and your home is a mess, don't worry! Michelle will make it work and she will decide which room has the best lighting for her photos. She'll need about 5ftx5ft of space at least! Michelle delivered our gallery in a blink of an eye. Literally got an email about images being ready within 3 days of the shoot. I loved every image!! My son had baby acne and dry skin peeling at the time and she let me know that if I chose 10 photos, she would retouch them and she did! Our twins were in the NICU for a month and our photography session was at 1.5 month old so they were older babies. Melaina and Becca were sooo patient with our girls since they don't sleep for as long as fresh newborns. They worked well together by bouncing swaddle/posing ideas off of each other. In addition, we felt very safe and assured because Melaina and Becca did frequent hand-hygiene after touching equipment before continuing to work with our babies. I had to call the office myself. She eventually reached out, but she didn't seem happy about it. When I asked about certain outfits and colors, she lied and said she didn't have them. However, I later found out that all Sweet Me photographers have the same kits--meaning she did have what I was looking for. On the day of the shoot, she canceled at the last minute. The company arranged for a replacement photographer to come instead. Unfortunately, the new photographer lacked experience with infants who are 4-5 weeks old. She mentioned she had only worked with newborns around 2 weeks old or younger. According to her, babies over 4 weeks are more alert and harder to pose. She also had a bit of an attitude. When I requested a specific color and outfit, she resisted and wanted to do things her way. I was still recovering and in pain at 4-5 weeks postpartum, but I patiently asked her to use the color I wanted. She eventually did, but it was clear she wasn't happy about it. She also came across as judgmental during the session--both in how she did the poses and in her comments about our family situation. The session was long because the baby was crying, and we had to take breaks to soothe and comfort him. It was a lot for the baby. Despite everything, I still tipped her well. If you're asking whether I recommend Sweet Me Photography, I would suggest looking elsewhere. Try to find someone with more experience and ask for referrals from people who have already done newborn shoots. Sweet Me just sends out random photographers, and you don't get to review their profiles ahead of time. I did end up purchasing all the photos, but the overall experience could have been much better.

Originally they were scheduled for earlier in the day to photograph, but they needed to reschedule for later in the day. This was told to us on the day. That seemed fine, but between when they were supposed to originally arrive and when they actually did arrive, it began to rain. We called F8, asking to reschedule for the next day, so that we could get photographs of the front and backyard that didn't look soaked. The woman we spoke to was rude and kept repeating "we've got a business to run here", so we could not reschedule without paying $75. She assured us the photographs would be edited to look great. No surprise, the photographs do not look great. It looks like they just boosted the image saturation and replaced the cloudy sky with a blue sky. Ridiculous.
