We had such a lovely experience at Tangram Studio for my baby's cake smash photoshoot! The studio was bright, clean, and very welcoming. I really appreciated that they had a separate room for changing clothes and baby diaper changes, which made everything so much more comfortable and convenient. They had beautiful backgrounds and so many fun props for my baby to play with. We also added on the sibling option, and both of my kids had such a great time during the session. Ted was incredibly patient with my kids and managed to capture so many sweet and adorable moments naturally. The final photos turned out absolutely beautiful and dreamy, I couldn't be happier with them! We decided to do a cake smash Photoshoot for our baby's 1 year birthday. After seeing the many cute cake smash backgrounds that Tangram Studio had, we decided to book with them! Ted was very responsive and we were able to book an appointment for the following week (we took a day off in the middle of the week). We also decided to do the add on for family and pets. I LOVE that there's an option to include our furry family members! As much as I tried to plan ahead and get to the studio in time that day, my baby decided to fight his nap that morning. He eventually fell asleep.. but way too close to the time we had to leave. I reached out to Ted ASAP to ask if there was flexibility to push the photoshoot back a bit so my baby could take an hour nap so he's less likely to be fussy during the photoshoot. He had another scheduled shoot after ours but was flexible for us to come a bit later than scheduled which I was very grateful for! When we got to the studio, the cake smash background was already set up! The studio was so clean! There was a room for us to change the baby and put all our stuff in - there was also a changing table and diaper pail in there! Ted and his assistant were so great with our dogs and baby! They were patient and knew how to get our baby to laugh and look at the camera. There were a few times where I was ready to give up because handling a baby and two dogs for a photoshoot was a lot more difficult than I thought it would be! Ted was so patient with them and continuing to try his best to take the perfect shot for us. I really appreciated that because there were some amazing photos we would have missed out on if not for Ted! Cleanup was super easy - we brought wipes to wipe our baby down and then took him to the bathroom to do a quick rinse before leaving. I was surprised that we got our proof gallery two days later! The unedited proof gallery pictures were honestly high quality and I would not have known they were unedited if they didn't tell me! We received our edited photos 2 weeks later. I was so happy with the fast turnaround time! I asked Ted if he could fix my hair in the family pictures and he was able to do so for me (thank you!!). I'd absolutely come back for another photoshoot in the future and would highly recommend Tangram! read more

We worked with Tangram Studio recently for my son's one year cake smash photos, and had a great experience from start to finish. My son's birthday is right between Christmas and New Year, so I was delighted when Ted very promptly responded to my email inquiry offering availability for booking during this time. His communication was informative and professional, and directed us to their awesome website, which contains all sorts of information and tips you will need for the session, so helpful for tired parents! For cake smash specifically there are numerous beautiful themed backdrops you can choose from. Once we arrived at their cute, professional and well taken care of studio, we were led to a very nice semi-private room where we could prepare and change our infant in between our photos. Ted and Katie were great with our son, who was a bit unsure and timid initially. They were engaging, patient, and playful to encourage him to play and explore the set. It was a relaxed and bright environment and my baby quickly warmed up and was happy and calm. The pictures were delivered right on time as we had communicated. The whole process from request to final proofs was done with continued (and quick) communication, as well as kindness with various request from my extended family of 11. From our initial request for studio family portraits, Ted was very welcoming and thorough in sharing all the availability packages and best time slots for our young children. Even when we kept going in-between studio or outdoor options, he patiently walked us through both options and offered recommendations for us to consider. Also when we had a sudden family emergency occur, they treated us with kindness and understanding to accommodate our availability. We just had my kiddo's 100 day photos done with Tangram Studio and we had a lovely experience. We had seen Tangram online for my eldest, but decided against them because I thought 2-3 backgrounds could not possibly be enough and went with a photographer who offered a 10 background package. Well, that turned out to be a FTM mistake, and those turned out to be mediocre photos. This time, we reached out to Ted. They did not disappoint! The studio is bright and clean, and they had several beautiful backgrounds set up for us before we got there. The team did a great job entertaining my little one, getting her to laugh (dancing with toys), fixing stray hairs, and posing. We ended up with so many cute photos (delivered quickly and on time). I can't thank Ted and Tangram enough for capturing my daughters 1st birthday party! The package we did was: Baby Birthday Party (or Baby Shower) Shooting at location Up to 2 hours of shooting time Password protected web gallery of about 100 images Payment was super easy (thru Venmo) and they were fast to respond via email to all my questions and scheduling us. It was a hectic day. We were way behind schedule (but worth it because baby slept two hours before the party so she was all smiles throughout the event) and an hour behind our photo session. By the time we started shooting, we only had an hour left. But Ted captured a ton of candids of our guests and the party setup so no time was wasted. I appreciated Ted's experience and recommendations for the types of photos we should take. We went through the standard ones like family photos with baby behind the dohl table and the doljabi. In addition, we did a lot of staged photos around the venue, which made for some really adorable family photos of baby, husband and I that I LOVE!! Delivery of photos was also super fast. Within a week, we received all the photos. Because the actual day was so chaotic, it was wonderful to relive the event through the photos and really through our guests eyes. We recently had a smash cake + family shoot on my younger son's first birthday. I'm really happy with the shoot done by Ted and his assistant. They both were really patient with my 2 kids - 3.5 and an year old. They had sets ready before our arrival and we started with the family shoot first and then smash cake. The studio is really clean and spacious with a separate room for us to keep our belongings. The room even had a changing station and diaper genie to dump diapers. Ted even took beautiful sibling shots. All pics are really candid with best smiles on our faces. I'm really happy that I chose Tangram Studio to capture these beautiful moments of my family. While booking I was quoted 2 packages. I reached back out and gave my budget and what I wanted included. Here is what I sent: I was really hoping to be at xxxx for photos And for they to include the pre-quince session And then day of coverage from 2-7. Is there any wiggle room? And then they responded: I can accommodate your request as you outlined--$xxxx, including the pre-quince session and day-of coverage from 2-7 PM. So I was under the impression we were set on price. Then after asking about the pre session photos they advised that would require a new quote. I pushed back because of the note above and they said: The pre-quince session for the invites is separate. And Would you like to receive a final quote that includes both the pre-quince session and the main event coverage? I declined. It seems that they are trying to take advantage of people. We had one email chain going and they could have quickly saw what we agreed too. I will not be using their services and wanted to share this experience hoping that someone else could benefit. read more

My best friend recommended Tangram since they just had a photoshoot for their baby girl. I contacted Ted with pretty short notice but he was so responsive and was able to accommodate us! We ended up booking the smash cake photoshoot. They had sooo many cute backdrops/themes to pick from and were even able to customize it to our liking if we liked props from different themes. We were a bit worried going into the photoshoot since our daughter is a bit of a wild, unpredictable one. However, Ted and Katie were AMAZING!!! They allowed some time for her to warm up and feel comfortable and their energy was infectious and made our daughter smile. They also had several toys to keep her engaged and did everything in their power to get the perfect shots. The studio was super clean and they even had a changing table and a diaper pail which made cleaning up after the smash cake shoot A LOT less stressful. Everything was clearly well thought out and they are the nicest people ever. I can't recommend this studio enough. We are IN LOVE with the photos and are so happy we decided to go with Tangram. We did a photoshoot with our new 3M old baby here and I couldn't be happier. Ted and Katie were great in trying to make my son feel comfortable by singing and trying to make him laugh. It was really fun to watch them work and use the different props. I really loved that Ted continued to take pictures while we were working to get my son comfortable in the new environment and he ended up taking a few of my husband playing with/kissing our baby (one of which is my favorite out of the many photos). I found Tangram Studio here on yelp and was looking for a new New Born soho photographer since the one I used in the passed moved further away. I'm so happy that I found Ted and Katie! Once I figured I wanted them to shoot our photos for our new born I just had to write them and email and place a $100 retainer fee to hold the spot. This also would be applied to the end total. I did all the communication through email which Katie was able to get back in a timely matter. She stated once I had our baby to just email her back and she will figure out the date available. We ended up having our baby 2.5 weeks earlier than scheduled and I let her know, she was able to accommodate and save the date rIght away. A couple of days before the shoot they emailed us to give us some pointers the morning of. I tried really hard to keep our baby up and not eat because that's really the best to shoot when you get the baby "milk drunk". If the baby is milk drunk then they're able to position the baby in all those cool positions. The location of their studio is located in Santa Clara off El Camino right across the street from Walgreen. Super easy to find with plenty of parking. Ted welcomed my family and I into his studio. We had to take our shoes off before entering their store studio Im assuming because the little babies and kids that come in and doesn't want anymore dirt and germs that is on the bottom of your shoe. They also provide house slippers. I was in awe of their studio. So huge and bright with so many different backdrops and props. They have a little nursery area with a changing table where you can feed your baby and change. Small but plenty of space for you and your little one. They also have a huge closet with clothes(I'm assuming it's for older kids, or also many babies as well I'm not completely sure). For the 2.5 hours that my family and I were there my husband and son hung out in their "waiting area" it was inside the studio but they had a huge couch for them to lounge and hang out in. As for the actual photoshoot Ted and Katie were sooooo patient with our new born. I couldn't get her to get that "milk drunk" but they did their magic and was able to take the pictures! The backdrops and props they picked out for her were so cute! Katie even asked me what my favorite color was and used that wrap for one of the shots. Of course the baby is naked and they go to the bathroom and my child at least had a BM on two of their sheets. They let me know it happens and they have so many different options it's easy to switch out. Not only were they patient with my new born but they were also patient with our five year old son. As for prices, these photo shoots aren't cheap, these are high quality shoots that I totally recommend you capturing these special moments! We finally got the proofs less than a month after our shoot and what can I say I am so in love and in Awe of them! They turned out perfect and I'm not saying that because it's my family. If you take a look at the other babies they took those too are amazing!
