This past Friday I had an entirely different type of experience that will cost his practice a patient. I had an appointment scheduled months in advance for Friday 10/18 at 10:30 am. I STILL HAVE THE CARD. I had received text message reminders and a phone call reminder all leading up to this appointment. I scheduled myself to work from home that day so that I could go to this appointment for what I assumed was a cleaning. Due to road construction on my way there I would say that I arrived roughly 8 or 9 minutes late. I'm going to say that this amount of time late should NOT have been a problem because when I go there I literally NEVER walk straight into the appointment. I always have to wait!! Your time is no more valuable than mine is. Also, most PROFESSIONAL businesses give a courtesy amount of time too allow people to get to the appointment. Some of us actually work for a living. But I digress... Anyway, I walk up to the desk, give the receptionist my name and she says I don't have you on my schedule for today. I said well I certainly have an appointment. She keeps looking at the screen and asking me if I'm sure and to give her my name again. She still couldn't find me. Then I showed her my text message reminder. She then gets up and walks toward the back into the office and starts engaging in conversation with other women (one was definitely a hygienist whom she asked to do a cleaning for me) because she (the hygienist) said well she's not on the schedule and she's 15 minutes late even if she was so NO I cannot see her. This was said in a nasty tone while looking in my direction. I HEARD her say this as she was standing in a doorway, casually chatting up other women. She was clearly NOT busy. I said no, "She" (meaning myself) was not 15 minutes late and if it weren't such a Scooby Doo mystery of why I'm here I could have been getting seen by now. They very nastily told me I couldn't be seen that day and that I had been removed or crossed off the schedule because I was late. You have got to be joking. I'm sure you clowns have cameras. Check them and see how late I was and don't use that as an excuse for your ineptitude and unprofessionalism. I was told I could reschedule. I said I would do no such thing since you all wasted my valuable time. Dr. Fabey, your practice is only as good as your staff.

I was seeing another dentist and expressed my concerns, but they dismissed them and sent me on my way... which lead me to finding a new dentist for another opinion- Dr. Muff! She got me in as a new patient fairly quickly and did a thorough exam. She addressed my concerns, and suggested some options. I am VERY pleased, and happy I found a dentist who has passion and is dedicated to patient care. Thank you Dr. Muff and team. Highly recommend! I want to share an example of how thorough and knowledgeable Dr. Muff is - my one tooth was causing me sharp sensitivity to liquid, that started a few months ago. The dentist I WAS seeing at the time said there was nothing to worry about.. well upon arrival to Dr. Muff's she examined the area (which at one point had a filling done that was poorly done) and insisted I see an endodontist for a potential root canal.. as that is what she suspected was needed. Shortly after, I got into the specialist she recommended, and the imaging/specialist indeed confirmed I needed a root canal! My tooth already feels better. Can't thank Dr. Muff and Dr. Jabbs from Silvaggio Endodontics enough! 10/10!!!

I am very happy to have found Whitehall Family Dentistry and Dr. Yacoub…read more I have had some really bad experiences in the past with dentists, beginning as a child when one dentist drilled a hole too large and caused an issue in my front tooth that's been plaguing me since. Dr. Yacoub addressed all of my dental needs without judgment and was straightforward and fair with his assessment and treatment plan. I've had that front tooth worked on by a few dentists already and am happiest with the final results of Dr. Yacoub's work. I am not in PA full time so he was flexible with working with my schedule and blocking out time as needed to see me. It's been over a year and all of the work he's done is still working out for me great! He's not real chatty either which I appreciate, he's friendly and professional. I've had in the past dentists who talk your ear off while your mouth is open and it's weird. The same treatment plan was priced at 3x what they priced me by one of those overpriced chain dentists that my insurance company said was my in-network dentist. Located in Whitehall off of 22 the office is very convenient to get to! Lastly, the ladies at the front desk are always really nice and his dental assistants as well.

Then they said I had periodontal disease and needed deep scaling. This also turned out not to be true. Luckily I knew they were lying and didn't pay the $350+ for this unnecessary procedure. If I had listened to all their lies I would have paid more than $600 out of pocket WITH insurance for x-rays and the deep scaling. Don't go here. Like the other reviewers said, they scare you into thinking you need a bunch of work done on your mouth when it's not true.

I do not have dental insurance. He took an X-ray and said I have an infection above where I had root canal 2 years ago and that I needed to go to my endodontist. I was charged $189. My endodontist had a CT image capture done and kept looking at the image saying he did not see any sign of an infection and didn't know why I was referred that and what he could even do as a next step. He stated the pain was most likely from a sinus issue. The total cost was $330 for the visit. I returned to T&P and explained what happened to Dr. Lou. He said the endodontist cost seemed high and dismissed his initial diagnosis saying that it was good we ruled out an infection as a cause for the pain!? He looked at my chipped tooth and said it needed a crown. He pitched his office's dental plan and walked out. He was very unconcerned that I had paid over $500 and had really nothing to show for it. Personally, if I unnecessarily caused someone to spend over $500 I would stand up and offer some help for restitution like reimbursing my initial $189 fee, offer to discount work on the crown, or something. Standing behind one's work, IMHO, tells a lot about a person's integrity and wouldn't trust any doctor or business that doesn't possess it.
