It would have turned into a root canal if I had waited a few more months! So now I am paying double the amount for a filling on the same tooth. I called the office to ask for a refund and the staff (Tomasa) spoke in a rude manner stating "you don't know anything about dentistry, let me explain it to you." And "yeah, you're def not getting that refund" then hung up on me. Don't be fooled by the reviews, when an issue arises they clearly don't care for the client and do an awful job with basic dental work. What a disappointment!

We later learned that these anesthesia services were categorically excluded under our specific dental plan. While my daughter was away at college and we were actively working through the insurance appeal process, the office sent collection warnings and added "service charges" to the balance, which created significant additional stress. The office eventually removed those charges after we complained. The clinical care may have been standard, but the financial communication and billing experience were extremely disappointing. Future patients should ask very specifically, in advance, whether IV sedation is covered under their exact insurance plan and what their expected out-of-pocket exposure could be -- even if the provider is in-network.

Let me start by saying that the first oral surgeon we used was more than fine in terms of results from a medical standpoint but the doctor had the personality of a potted plant and the office staff particularly from a billing standpoint were completely incompetent which led me to go elsewhere for this round. One easy call here set up the initial appointment a few weeks out. That visit was short and we had a recent x-ray sent from the pediatric dentist to avoid having another one done (and the associated cost) and they were more than fine with that. (The other oral surgeon we used in the past did not allow that and insisted they had to take their own x-ray.) The day of the procedure was very smooth. My daughter was called on time and she was done and in a recovery room about an hour later right on schedule. She had as much time as she wanted to wake up and stumble out to the car. We were given a very thorough set of post procedure instructions regarding icing, oral rinsing, brushing, etc. Her pain level was never overwhelming and by day two she said she felt more or less normal. At the follow up visit the following week her sutures were removed by one of the staff quick and easy. The doc came in and pronounced everything perfect. Two small points of negativity before the big finish. At the initial appointment rather than run the visit through our insurance, they insisted that I had to pay for the visit in full because we didn't meet our deductible. I attempted to explain that was true for our medical insurance but that our dental insurance doesn't have the same requirements. I was ignored and sure enough, a month later after things were run through our insurance along with two more phone calls to the office, they issued me a refund check for what they overcharged me. #annoying My daughter is very afraid of needles and at the other oral surgery practice they prescribed her a numbing cream that we applied at home right before the procedure so that she didn't feel anything. Dr. D. doesn't do that and instead insisted that laughing gas would work fine. My daughter is of a different opinion that it did nothing for her and she felt everything which is exactly what she didn't want. In the grand scheme of things the experience here was great. Everything from paperwork to billing to how the procedure would go was explained in full with any questions more than welcomed. If you have ever dealt with a certain other area oral surgery practice (V.O.) you know that questions are quasi-frowned upon and they act more like the KGB where only they ask the questions. Don't deal with that. Come here. As soon as you hear Sinatra crooning in the waiting area then get the big handshake from Dr. D. you'll know you've come to the right place.

My previous dentist minimally abraded my molar and applied bonding to guard against tooth…read moresensitivity. It had been 7 years and the bonding fell off. I was in no rush to go to the dentist to get the bonding replaced because my molar didn't bother me at all. When I went to Dr Lawrence's office a few months later for a regular check up, I was seen by Dr. Kratzer. She asked me if I had any pain or sensitivity with the bonding being gone. I said no. She said she would replace the bonding and I agreed. Dr. Kratzer replaced the bonding; however, she abraded my molar so deep she told me I might feel some sensitivity for the next few weeks because she got very close to the root. I don't understand why she had to abrade my tooth to that extent. My tooth was so sensitive and I could not chew on that side of my mouth for months. I religiously used salt water rinses to finally quell the sensitivity. Then the bonding fell out and I immediately set up an appointment because the sensitivity was not bearable this time. I saw Dr. Lawrence this go around. I expressed to her that I was unhappy that my molar had been ground down this much by Dr. Kratzer and then I had months of sensitivity after Dr. Kratzer's initial work. Dr. Lawrence was concerned about the prolonged sensitivity and that I may need a root canal (she is the self-styled "Root Canal Queen"). She said that grinding down the tooth was necessary to allow the bonding to hold better. I was so upset: so Dr. Krazter takes the more invasive approach and my tooth gets infected and potentially I need a root canal! Dr. Lawrence replaces the bonding on this molar (she didn't charge me) and on another tooth. The bonding on the molar fell off within 2 years and 6 months on the other tooth. I could feel and see the work of both dentists, the bonding was far from flawless. When you don't have a smooth edge where the natural tooth and the bonding meet, you're bound to have issues. It's constantly going to catch on food and floss and eventually fail. I very unhappy. I really regret going to this office. I think both dentists have good bedside manner and they seem knowledgeable. However, I don't think minimally invasive procedures where practiced and I their bonding work is subpar.
