I love the style of this store with a mix of antiques and new items. The store contained many Lexington pictures such as maps of the city and horse pictures and signs. The style of the store was a hip rustic vibe and many new and beautiful rugs and furnishings. There was also bar ware and bourbon barrel heads and bourbon stave items. The place contained many cool tables, bars, shelving units and military pictures and tables. The owner Chad Tussey was helpful and gave me a card with the website. The website was well laid out with the items divided into categories: furniture, accessories, bourbon barrels, cover your walls, oriental rugs, lighting, stuff for your bar, Kentucky made soaps, candles, and food, architectural salvage, hats, shirts, socks, etc., grooming supplies, new relic finds, and sale items. I will be back and really enjoyed my visit.

My sister-in-law and I often shop in the downtown area, because there are several great boutiques. (There are also great restaurants in the area, so you should definitely check it out!) Recently she told me a new shop had happened, and she took me to Meraki and Moon. I was instantly in love! This shop offers art, home decor, clothing, jewelry, bath salts, crystals, accessories, wine, and so so so much more! We ended up purchasing several items, and we were both so happy with our purchases that we can't wait to go back! Plus, they offer classes and hands on art experiences, and you can purchase wine by the bottle or glass and enjoy it while in a class or while shopping! And, on top of all of that, the shop owners and employees are awesome! You can read about their story on their website, and in person they are so friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed meeting them and talking with them during our visit. This is the perfect shop to check out for yourself, or for gifts. The selection is honeslty a bit difficult to describe but truly contained such a variety of items, from specialty origami papers to fun matchboxes, decor, and various trinkets. Sqecial Media is a popular store located right off U.K. campus. First, you must call to set up an appointment to shop. The store is small so they only allow a certain amount of people inside. They have different hours as well. Upon entering, they require a face mask and hand sanitizer before browsing the store. The location is literally right off campus. Parking can be annoying in this area. There is street parking in front or a small parking lot behind the store. Keep this in mind when visiting. There are a couple of other businesses located in the same building: a Korean restaurant (delicious) and a music store downstairs. If you're looking for a fun and unique store, definitely visit!

Oh, and the library is right across the street. Pretty nice size gallery with a very nice "cash and carry" gift section that starts at the front counter and rounds itself to the back, where you'll find additional prints for sale. Jewelry, ceramics for everyday use (mugs, dishes, etc) and decoration, ornaments and more can be found here. Upstairs you'll find handy bathrooms and another gallery of about the same size, usually exhibiting a different artist. I didn't personally like the exhibits at the time, but if I lived in the area or visit Lexington again, I'll definitely stop in for a visit.

I got Bob a seersucker hat and myself new sunglasses. And a very cool piece of luggage for a recent grad going off to college. She adored it, and I loved hitting it out of the park.
