Short lines, friendly staff, clean bathrooms and good movies with all the trimmings popcorn candy refreshments

I used to love this place. Since the "renovations" the food is not great: super stale bag of nacho chips, no boat, just tiny bin for nacho cheese the chips don't even fit in to dip in, soda was not good either. The theater rooms don't look renovated at all. The screen we were watching kept strobing dark and light throughout the entire movie. It's a quick trip if I don't want to leave Georgetown - but probably will go to Lexington to get better quality snacks, chairs, and screens for the money. read more

Great little spot. The prices are low and the fountain drinks are good without being so big you need help to your seat. The theater is a little dated and some of the seats need some work but having a Theater in Georgetown makes it crazy convenient. Being able to see a movie local without going into Lexington is a big pro. read more

So, I've never been to this theater before; but I had heard that they had $5 Tuesday movies. Awesome! My husband got a drink and they gave him a free popcorn, that was unexpected and very nice. All of the staff were very polite; which sometimes, these days, can be hard to find within a theater. Anyhow, I have an injury to my neck, and I always bring my neck pillow; however, if you have any kind of injury like that, don't sit in the chairs. About halfway through the movie, I was hurting. If the chairs were perhaps more comfy, I would have appreciated it more. They were worn down (an old theater and I get that), and they were REALLY hard. I would have thought that being an older theater, the chairs would have been comfier. In Theater 3, there is a scratch/squiggle mark on the middle of the screen. That was really distracting. Perhaps looking into somehow getting the scratches out may make it a little more bearable. But everything was clean and nothing smelled bad and I appreciated that. For an older theater to be clean and not smell like mold, what a great way to represent! read more

The theater is very small and the seats aren't very comfortable but the price is right. The entrance was so small, I thought I would be sitting in some dudes mom's basement but the screen was a decent size and for something to do when just passing through town, it was fine. read more

I absolutely love this place! it's a small theater and it's a very rarely ever packed. The prices are very decent plus you can get a membership card for like $1.25 that gets you free refills and discounts on your snacks. This theater reminds me of whenever I was a kid and theaters were big and flashy. This place has a simplicity to it that is very inviting and makes you feel like you're right at home. I never have a bad time when I visit this place. The prices on tickets are good as well. There is loads of parking available and if you want to make a whole day of it you can visit the shops that surround it in the strip mall that it is in. The staff are always very polite and greet you with a smile. And the entire places kept very clean even the restrooms. Aside from offering popcorn, nachos, candy and drinks to go with your movie, if you have a few quarters in your pocket you can play an arcade game. Granted there arcade section isn't very big, but it's an arcade section! I mean how rare is that nowadays? Watched the new release of Thor and tonight I'm watching Justice League. Ok, the theaters aren't Hamburg RPX but the price is waaaaaay cheaper all around. Tickets are 7.50 vs 18. The theater is clean and you can show up 30 minutes before ANY movie and get tickets and a good seat. I like it. Worth the money. The snack are the same as in Lexington but, again, a lot cheaper. They have a website. I suggest you give it a look and give this movie theater a try. If you have to see the movie in IMAX/RPX then go to Hamburg but if you just want to see the movie and not pay a lot then theaters of Georgetown is an excellent choice. Jim read more

Let me start by saying, this place has the smallest lobby I've ever seen. Only because they make everyone wait until they are ready to seat your movie. If you're claustrophobic, drive on to Lexington. We only stopped here because I was in Gtown and it seemed a better option at the time. You must purchase your tickets at the concession stand....there are two choice, tickets only line or tickets and concessions line. Make sure you are paying attention. read more

A mediocre, fairly forgettable movie theater. I normally would never go here, but this was one of only three cinemas in Kentucky to be playing the film The Interview. So, I drove over to Georgetown and found this place. The fact that they were going to show this when most theaters in the country were too scared to made me start off my review with a bit of respect. . .which they lost some of. It's in a cheap outlet strip mall, and the place certainly feels run down, especially the lobby. Appearance is not something they apparently care about much there. One big downside is the employees. They wear no uniform nor nametags, and you can't really tell who works there. They also have a really pushy, rude attitude. While I know nobody likes to work on Christmas Day, they didn't even make an attempt to be polite or professional about the fact they were there. The theater itself was actually decent, rather roomy, good seats, nice layout. It's a pity the dingy dive of a lobby and awful employees brought down what would otherwise have been a very good review. read more

This Theater is ok,if you aren't willing to drive a mile to the Movie Tavern in Lexington. I took a group of kids last month to go see the new Madagascar movie"penguins"; however we had to wait 10 minutes due to the fact that somehow they didn't have the programming's approval? After hearing the kids frequently ask when was it going to play the movie, we had to stare at a black screen in dim lights. When the movie finally did decide to play the lights flickered twice then went out along with two lights still on in the corner. It was the most bizarre experience that a movie theater had to offer. I do not recommend this place when you have a group of impatient children. read more

After buying a Groupon for this theater, my boyfriend and I finally got a chance to go a couple weekends ago to see "Skyfall". First off, it is a very dated theater whose restrooms reek of urine; you can even smell it outside of the restrooms. We made the mistake of coming on a weekend when Twilight was just released so it was a bit of a mess trying to differ what lines were for getting tickets and what lines were to get into the theater area. The girl at the counter almost seemed miffed we were using a Groupon. Then there was someone who was taking tickets and screaming what movies were currently being seated. Not really a pleasant experience. Would I make the special trip to Georgetown with a Groupon ever again? I'll stick to paying full price in Lexington. read more

Took the wife out for date night we enjoyed a lunch and a matinee at this theater we enjoyed ourselves immensely the theater is very clean well cared for up-to-date offers a wide variety of snacks drinks customer service is very friendly and the prices are very reasonable for two at a matinee was only $10 it was a Monday night I do recommend that you would try this Theatres they have all the new movies they are listed on the internet Facebook Yelp so they're out of the way just a little bit but very convenient parking is available close well-lit parking lot can't say much more than I would recommend them this is one of our favorite theaters read more

Awesome little theatre. Way more affordable than the big Cinemas. They have reclining seats. Went on a date with my wife there, we got 2 candies, popcorn, 2 matinee tickets, a pop and a bottle of water all for an even $25.00. Totally awesome price! We watched Rampage and loved the movie. Taking the older two kids next weekend to see the Avengers. Finally can go to the movies as a family without breaking the bank. read more

Let's start with the fact that they hardly have a movie selection at all. The $1 movie theater in Lexington has way more options with an obviously better price. Every time I come here I have issues, every time. Today, I drove 30 minutes away from my home to this theater to take my family to see the new Minion movie (only because that was the only thing appealing, the kids really wanted to see Captain Underpants. Anyway, we only came here because I purchased a Groupon. When we got there and told them we had a Groupon they said that we couldn't use the 2 Groupon's because it was 1 per family (Groupon doesn't say that) and then was told they would honor it anyways but only one two movie choices, which neither was what my kids wanted to see. Your obviously offering Groupon's because you need business but you put way too many stipulations on your Groupon's for a crappy theater. Needless to say, we left and got a refund on our Groupon's. Will NOT be returning again! read more

This place is kind of a diamond in the rough. They show new releases, not second runs and for way cheaper prices than pretty much any other theater in the area. Yea, it looks a bit dingy and outdated, but it's dark during the movie. The movies themselves look and sound great, which is really what matters. The seats are also comfortable and the theaters themselves are kept pretty tidy. Tuesdays, when you buy a ticket and a drink you get a free small popcorn. All of that for two people, runs around $22. I took the day off work to take my girls, which I do not get to spend much time with, to the movies. I checked movie times before we left to make sure we would have time between our appointments. From the information on the website we would. We drove thirty minutes to get there to find out that they had changed the movie times so we would not have time to see it. Located at farthest end of an old strip mall and once entering, the run down look is still apparent. Purchased and used a Groupon at this location for I reside in a city 20 miles away. Not busy on my weekday visit of yesterday and myself and guest were expecting at least a friendly welcome. No friendly welcome, smile or good service was provided. Cashier seemed very unpleasant and "gruff-like" personality and she seemed very put out by the fact that I had a Groupon. Other than lobby appearance and unfriendly customer service, the theater itself was clean with spacious theater seating. I will only return because my Groupon is movies for a month but I will not return thereafter until ever needed renovation and a trained staff on proper customer service. read more

If you buy a ticket online, you still have to stand in line to get your ticket. If the movie is sold out, too bad. You should have shown up earlier. They said that the website said you needed to show up 30 minutes early but the website didn't. The ticket taker was some "I'm too good for my job" teenage kid and the manager was full of herself and rude. Worst. I would rather pay more and drive further to go to a halfway decent theatre. If you like rude workers, run down theater and low quality screens- this place is for you! If you like being treated like a human being- don't go here. read more

The Theatres of Georgetown is this single best movie theater in the state of Kentucky. I frequently drive thirty minutes from a different city to watch movies here. Be warned that if you enjoy huge crowds, not sitting with your friends, breaking your neck while watching movies, and paying ludicrous amounts of money for movie tickets, then this movie theater might not be for you. For everyone else, this might be the most delightful movie theater discovery of the 21st century. When compared to a Michelin-starred restaurant, I would describe the quality of this theater as "lacking". However, it's a movie theater, and after 6 years of visiting this theater, I don't have a single complaint regarding the quality of the facility or the quality of the service that I have received. read more

The theater itself is ok, my son loves going to movies so we went alot this summer. The only problem is the employees are so rude, it really takes away from the whole experience, and it's every time. I read several of the earlier reviews so when we went to see Beauty and the Beast tonight I was pleasantly pleased. The lobby appeared well kept as did the hallways and the theaters themselves. The staff were all wearing khaki pants and black tops with name tags. The sound was excellent and the overall atmosphere was very comfortable. The seats are not Lazy Boy recliners, but are comfortable and the whole place appeared clean, The theater offers nice discounts for seniors and veterans. The two of us got two tickets, popcorn and beverage (both refillable) for under $16.00. read more

You may have to wait in a line to see a movie even when buying on line, but I remember the days of not having a theater in Georgetown at all. No it isn't new anymore ,sometimes it is a little loud, but it is nice enough to run out, and see a movie here in town. If you are not happy with our little theater then maybe you should drive to Lexington or Florence Ky. I drove to Cynthiana, Ky. the seats were torn and the place was very old. But I remember enjoying the movie. I think they may have remodeled now. Be grateful for what we have. read more
