I have to share just how amazing Sil's Auto Centre is. I live in Vancouver, but was driving through Oakville on the highway when I had the undercarriage of my car come down. I pulled off the highway and into Sil's. Based off a phone call I overheard I knew they were super busy and already working on other cars, but the gentleman who I met at the front desk was super friendly and was open to looking at my car. I was so worried I was going to be late for my event or stuck in the city overnight. I still can't believe the incredible service I received and how he got me back on the road quickly. He knows the kind deed he did for me that day but I don't think he knows just what that meant to me. If I lived in Oakville I'd be going there all the time. read more

They didn't fix the problem with my car and I paid $510. Changed the battery and partially diagnosed the car when the alternator & spark plugs need replacement as well as a timing adjustment. The car revs at 3000RPM with my foot on the floor in park. They gave me back a dangerous car which I would consider "Public Endangerment with knowledge", this is a serious crime which could kill someone and their shop. DON'T GO THERE!! read more

Sil's charges the same hourly labour rate as the car dealership, and they charge me a lot just to diagnose simple problems with my car. While I find the staff to be very qualified I need more value for my money if I am to return. I end up paying the same money here as I do at the dealership. And they have cookies to eat. It would be nice if you could be open in the weekend. So maybe close on Monday for example, but open on the Saturday. So overall, I need a reduction in labour rate, and they need to inspect my car for almost free in order to get me to want to continue to repair my car here. I will find better value elsewhere. read more

Edit 08\30\17: Cost me $98 USD to a local shop to diagnose the problem. Worn intake camshaft. Why is it Sils couldn't do this after how many attempts and an almost HPFP replacement. $98 compared to the numerous diagnostics without answers from Sils. How very sad and unfortunate to consciously take money from a customer each time and still unable to diagnose. Since I travel to Florida often, I'll continue using this VERY reputable shop for BMW/VW/Audi down here. Stand by my original negative review below. Edited review below to response to owner: Exceeded every customer request? Nope. Frustration grew as I'd wait 3 weeks at a time for your call back never to get one, talk to susan, be told I'd get a call right back but your swamped to never get a call back. Rinse and repeat 5-6 times in the last 4 months. Never once did i get a call back except the first 48 hours after it was in your hands. Even after my first attempt to point out someone overfilled my oil. Seemed like someone forgot to pull the plug leaving me to drive on overfilled oil for 2000 KM You do a lot of pointing fingers but don't have any accountability. How unfortunate. Would have looked much better had you owned up to failing to diagnose while continuing to rake the money in from the same customer each time. Read below original review for continued edit. There was no limited budget, I simply wasn't going to pay $130 per coil/plug + the diagnostic fee. Which still didn't solve the problem by replacing the coil/plug. 4 new OEM Bosch coils + plugs are $120 retail. I paid that for 1 with you. Even still, was willing to accept paying more at a shop, i could rely on and trust. Unfortunately for Sil's, my frustration doesn't just come from continuing to take my money but failing to deliver an adequate diagnostics. This is where I must refrain from explaining this part for now. after many paid for diagnostics, I am now stuck with family in Florida. I wasn't asking Sils to fix my car, that is impossible. I was asking for advice (compression ratio numbers, standard HPFP/LPFP bar readings from the system you use. As I run VCDS, I have my diagnostics narrowed down, but needed a trained mechanic to ballpark ideas. Was even willing to pay over the phone even though I already paid for this very diagnostics in February. I wanted to trust my main mechanic seeing as how I spent $557.79 for 1 coil, 1 plug, 1 diagnostics and oil change that didn't solve the issue. You sat on the phone 48 hours after the car was in your hands and I was broken down for over an hour shooting ideas. You chose to ignore the customer you've continued to take diagnostic fee's from and wash your hands of the issue directing to go to a local shop when I kept being told on the phone someone would call me back. You say I haven't answered you. Maybe speak to your staff? I've left messages on your personal VM and with Susan and with Terry more times then I can count never to get a call back once. --- This is where the frustration grew. I've paid for too many diagnostics, you continued taking the money for them and never resolving the NOW issue i face with my car. 2 sides to every story. Unfortunately you continued taking my money. Over the last 3-4 years. I have spent a crap tonne of money for not one single fix. Susan was the only reason we stuck around. Terry is a horrible liar by the way. Out of all the money spent there, 1 battery, 1 coil, 1 plug was replaced. Rest was oil change/diagnostics over and over. Instead of pointing your finger at an irritated customer, have some accountability for your own faults and mistakes in the process of this business relationship. I paid $10,000 for a new engine, previously ripped off by another mechanic. Limited budget is not the issue. A trustworthy mechanic is far and few. Accountability would go a long ways to have defused the situation. Not sure how you expected this to turn out by turning a blind eye. If you refunded my many diagnostics, this review would have stayed 3 star. May not have been positive, but not negative. I do not like feeling taken advantage of, refund some of my diagnostics, I will happily call it a day and simplify my review. Having some accountability as I said would go a long ways for you. I was really blown away by the service at Sil's! Being a student from outside of Ontario, I was concerned going to a new business to fix my car. They were extremely pleasant to deal with and made sure to explain everything going on with my car and what I was paying for in a way that I could understand. I took it in on 4pm on a Thursday and had it back by 1pm on Friday. As promised, they charged me nothing for the diagnosis, since the problem was obvious. I only paid for parts and repairs. While I didn't have my car they gave me a nice little loaner that was a massive help getting to school. Great business, I'll certainly be keeping their card handy! read more

Twice the dealership couldn't find what was wrong with my car so I looked on the web for auto repair shops and I found Sil's. The inspection was succeeded found the problem and fixed it. Also the rear breaks were done fully. Weeks later brought my car for oil change and also did promotional season package. My car was inspected throughly adjusting and fixing what's needed. I'm very happy with Sil's service than my dealer's. Now I trust in Carlo and his team to work on my car. Also I want to add Sil's has a loaner car which adds value to customers and his business. I'm very pleased with inspection reports by text messages. Finally, Sil's cares for your car excellent performing. read more
