Seen the friendly ad in the local newspaper and wanted to try them, well I had a tooth ache and got an appointment well after waiting a hour and a half watching dental movies( He was busy pulling another guys 11 teeth) he told me two teeth needing pulling but he could not do it because of my bad gag reflex and my mouth did not open wide enough, plus he said it was lunch his time (wtf) ..This guy is rude and I just feel sorry for my assistant because she was so nice...AVOID Bob D. I had horrible results with this dental practice. They misdiagnosed my tooth pain (I didn't even get to see a dentist on my first visit), they pushed an expensive 3-D CT scan on me that I didn't need, and then did not bother to call me back when I left multiple messages about the increasingly bad pain. On the upside, the office staff was nice. Bottom line: Do not go to this practice unless you want to pay unnecessary bills for dental diagnostics and work you don't need. read more

Dr. Silva and his staff are super nice and informative about all things dentistry. My husband and I both go here and we both like it here. My husband has needed a lot of work done and although it's expensive, they are forthcoming about the costs and have worked with my husband to make sure he gets what he wants. The hygienists are friendly and do great work! They use the most up to date tools and will work with you on your exact needs or wants in regard to your dental health. I highly recommend them. I don't see Dr. Silva as a salesperson as the previous reviews state. read more

I LOVE my new dentist! And it's NOT Dr. Silva. I was very pleased with his practice when I first moved to the area. I was especially delighted to find out they can make crowns while I waited. I needed one and so it was done one August day for about $1,400. About three months later it fell out so I went back to have it re-cemented back in and was charged $115 and a suggestion that I needed Crown Lengthening. Dr. Silva has a guy who he recommended for this procedure. I was not excited about this so I declined. One month later the crown fell out again. I went back to have it re-re-cemented and was again charged $115. Two months after that it again fell out and I was charged $150 to put it back in my mouth. Again I was invited to go to Silva's guy to do Crown Lengthening. I declined again. This time it stayed put for nearly 7 months before it fell out. Another $115 out of my pocket. Two months later guess what. Another $115 and a suggestion that I go to his guy and consider the procedure. I decided to find my own guy, a dentist from another town. He did a thorough exam and determined that I did NOT need Crown Lengthening and he made me a new crown (which I had to come back for). This crown was applied over a year ago and has never fallen out. And if it ever does it will be re-cemented FREE OF CHARGE. Do yourself a favor, like I did. Find another dentist. read more

Great dentist. My family has been going for a few years and we consider the staff at Dr. Silva's office an extention of our own family.

I had extensive dental work done here---and I mean in excess of $7000. worth. Despite telling them I prefer to not hear a blow by blow of what was being done, that is what I got, which added to my stress level. I was also brought into the office and literally bombarded with every single thing that was wrong with my teeth and "smile" in ridiculous detail and until I was literally in tears. I have been to other dentists who have addressed what needed to be done without the overwhelming and negative 'dressing down' that I received sitting in a chair opposite the dentist at his desk. Overall, the work I had done was fine. The one thing that could have been better was that they made me wear two sets of "temp" teeth to "try out" the color and fit before the permanent ones were made, but after all of that, when the permanent caps were put on they were NOT the same shape or color as the temps that I approved! I do wish they were a bit whiter. I chose the whiter shade, and the 'temps' were that color, but the permanents are not. By far the most serious complaint I have about this dentist is that after about $7000. worth of work WHICH WAS PAID FOR UP FRONT BY THE WAY, I later needed a filling, and wanted to come in and have it done. This was just one of the issues pointed out to me, and I had planned to come and get one tooth repaired at a time and pay each off in an installment or two. We do not have credit cards by choice, and have no dental insurance. I simply could not afford any more work unless I had it done and paid for it one tooth at a time. I had every intention of making timely payments. I mentioned this up front, and the office lady immediately let me know that that was really 'not acceptable', made me feel like a deadbeat, and never made the appointment! They took my money fast enough when they were getting paid big bucks, and I had planned to be a long term patient. Unfortunately, their concern, kindness, and solicitation was in direct proportion to how much I was spending and if it was forthcoming up front! This dental office has no 'heart', and no regard or understanding for anyone's feelings, and is ONLY 'nice as pie' if you are spending big dollars consistently and up front. I was simply gob-smacked to be treated this way when I was a 'patient of record'. Do yourself a favor and FIND A DIFFERENT DENTIST. Addendum~ At the time that these 7 crowns were done, the Dr. assured me several times that his work was guaranteed and that if I had any problems whatsoever he would stand by his word and take care of them (at no charge of course). I had one crown that became 'scratched' on it's front surface somehow. It is a front tooth, and I had NOT had an accident or bitten into something to damage it. The abrasion can be felt both with tongue and a finger and the tooth merely needed that 'sanding/polishing' that they do. I am sure this would be 5 minutes of the dentists' time. I contacted the Dr. on his email form and politely explained the situation, requesting that he honor his word and polish the roughness out of the tooth cap. Presumably because of my honest review, my email was ignored. This dentist only "stands by [his work]" as long and IF HE wants to, evidently. I will have to pay another dentist to smooth out the crown in future. It is truly unfortunate that after paying so much money, and being an honorable person myself, I was the victim of a greedy, self-serving dental practice. I do not enjoy leaving a bad review for anyone, but when they deserve it, I have done it in the hopes that it will help someone else from making a big mistake when choosing something as important as where and to whom to trust their teeth to. read more

Went in today for a filling. I mentioned in advance that I have severe anxiety of the dentist and can gag a lot. They took just great care of me and had more patience than some other dentists I have seen. They were calm and explained everything they were doing in great detail. They also pointed out other issues I am having with my teeth which I really appreciate. I now have more of understanding of what is causing my sensitive teeth and gums, along with neck pain and headaches. I feel they were very compassionate and showed great concern for the condition of my mouth. No other dentist was as truthful. I would recommend my family and friends to go to Silva Family Dentistry and I certainly will be back! read more

Unfortunately I must echo much of what the previous reviewer posted. This practice is not very forthcoming with costs. At the time of your primary visit: I would highly recommend asking for a printed fee schedule. Dentists use a complex formula to determine reasonable pricing based on a particular area, however this practice is unreasonably expensive even in consideration of that pricing formula, no discounts offered for paying cash. Additionally, I would recommend that when you have your appointment and the expensive helical CT scan is recommended...which it will be...that you get a statement 'in writing' about its necessity justifying the radiation exposure. I would recommend getting a statement of necessity in writing for any procedures recommended, particularly extractions. Discussed interactions and care with a number of other dentists who have all had the same bewildered reaction. read more

Dr. Silva is a fantastic dentist as are all the hygienists and office employees I've come in contact with through the years. They always deliver the best service and implement the most cutting edge technology. They are all very friendly, efficient, informative and easy to chat with. They make you feel comfortable and at ease. It is certainly a warm environment. They give great patient education and explain everything thoroughly. Dr. Silva definitely takes pride in what he does. He takes his professionalism very seriously is caring and kind. Simply stated, Dr. Silva and his entire team go way above and beyond to make your experience positive and keep your teeth in good shape.
