First time coming to this winery and had a great experience. Dogs were allowed as well as kids which was a huge plus for us. Wines were great and we took home a couple bottles. I come to Leavenworth every year with friends and Silvara has become one of our must dos. The service is really personable and laid back. I really appreciate that no one rushes you and the atmosphere on the patio should not be missed. Selfishly I would love to keep them a secret, but this place really deserves a mention. Fantastic venue for a wedding, a private dinner party or just a couple of glasses of wine outside in the sun! The location is still work in progress and the owner has a multitude of projects on the docket. A nice new retention wall to complete the front entry facade. There will be a wood fired pizza oven (the only way to have pizza of course), and even a small Shabu Shabu (Japanese hot pot) station to be installed in the near future. One of the winery partners is a professional golfer and she had an opportunity to spend a lot of time in Japan. This may seem a bit random for a winery, but I found it to be creative and fun. Outdoor area has some comfortable seating, sun umbrellas, fire pits and speakers to enjoy relaxing tunes. Inside area boasts a chunky dark wood decor, with plenty of light and air flowing through from the outside. A gorgeous solid wood, long, family style table and benches, with decorative wine barrels in the background and soft lighting. Perfect space for a small private event. We also sampled some wine, their Chardonnay stood out the most. Clean, fruity nose with a complex finish, since the wine is kept in steel barrels, and at the end is aged in oak for a short period of time. I enjoyed it. I think Silvara will be in our regular rotation when visiting east of the mountains. read more

Beautiful tasting room up on the hill on your way into Leavenworth. We did a red flight and all the wines were great. Our favorite was the Sangiovese. The staff was very friendly and did a great job describing the different wines. They are only offering outdoor seating right now which could get hot if you're in the sun. We went there several months ago and were very impressed by the wines. We followed up with $700 plus order for several of the wines we liked. I received an invoice but never received the wine I called several times and sent emails but never received a response. I was finally able to reach someone yesterday and just cancelled the order. This review is very over due! My husband and I got married here last August. We knew we wanted to get married in Leavenworth so we did some venue visits in the area. We instantly fell in love with Silvara's grounds, the beautiful tasting room structure and the view of the rolling hills. Aerica was always very helpful and responsive. She was at the time, the general manager and event/venue coordinator. She was always so kind, however I sensed she would have benefited from having help with either of those roles, having the GM as the venue coordinator for all the weddings is s big job! Either way, Aerica was so helpful, she recommended lots of local vendors and put me, the bride at ease, when I was stressed about the table arrangements and transitions from ceremony to reception. We were always invited to come have a glass of wine on them when we were in town for wedding planning activities. The venue itself is STUNNING, it's classy and rustic and elegant all at the same time, which is exactly what we wanted! The wine id delicious and everyone loved the red! Our wedding day went on without a hitch! Aerica and her team of bar tenders were fantastic, and they even offered to help with set up so it would go quicker. We also had little "welcome tags" for our cutlery set-ups and Aerica's team offered to tie all the tags on our 200 setups, so nice of them! Overall I would highly recommend Silvara for your wedding or event venue, the wine is great, the venue is gorgeous and it's close to town so all our family and friends were able to stay for the weekend and enjoy their stay in Leavenworth. read more

I would not recommend using Silvara for a venue for a special event. I met the owner at the Leavenworth Wine Walk and he shared with me they do private weddings. I contacted the event coordinator who never got back to me, so I called. She did answer and I emailed her the info she requested and I never heard back. I called to speak to the owner, and a friend of his answered the phone. I explained the situation to him and he assured me that the owner would get back to be in 24 hours. He explained there had been a change in event coordinators, which I understand happens. But, I NEVER heard back. Choosing a venue for a private event should include being able to rely on great customer service and great communication. I am very disappointed the owner never tried to call back. read more

It kind of sucks to see a few outliers skew the overall rating of this place since there are so few reviews. Just like everyone else who rated this place that didn't have some sort of personal cranky issue, I loved it. The owner was more than happy to sit down with us and answer all of our dumb questions, talk about life, and just plain have a good time. The wine was great, both the reds and whites (which is rare). It's clear that they take great care to produce a quality product. It wasn't a question of if we liked the wine, but instead of which wines we liked best. We came in looking for a quick tasting and left with multiple bottles. Not only is it great wine, it's also fairly economical. I've had bottles that cost 3 times as much and taste half as good. Surprisingly I haven't gotten to the facility yet... Bit that's only because the wine and service was so great. As noted by other reviews, this place has amazing views and incredible surroundings. From large fireplaces to wood/stone combos to beautiful patios, this place has it all. Even if they had terrible wine and service the place was so gorgeous that I would've given it 3 stars. Overall. This place is fairly new, according to the cool chick who worked inside. The view is pretty cool and it was relaxing outside. It's set up on a hill so it gets a nice breeze, so if you go on a day when it's 80+ degrees like we did, it's perfect. We did the wine tasting and had some proscuito to nosh on while sitting outside on some of the most comfortable outdoor chairs ever. Very relaxing. Why only three stars? I didn't really care for the wine. In fact, I didn't really care for any of them. We hit three wineries that day: Icicle Ridge, Eagle Ridge(?), and Silvara. I'd actually put them in that order of how I liked them. I don't know how told the vineyards are, but I'll give them another go-around next time. read more

I am a corporate event manager and took a consulting firm of about 40 people up to Silvara for dinner this last Saturday. What a gem this place is! When I came in earlier that day to discuss set up, the place was buzzing with activity. Bocce on the lawn, live music inside and lots of good conversation happening everywhere I looked. Everyone I worked with were an absolute pleasure, and the food and wine were delicious. The owners and event manager stayed the entire evening, mingling with the guests, pouring wine, just being their delightful selves. We discovered this "gem on the hill" about 2 years ago. The setting is perfect, the lodge stunning and the owner, Gary, a perfect host. Gary knows his wine but doesn't try to impress you with all the lingo, as many wine connoisseurs do. I'm sure if you like that talk that you'd have a great conversation, but all I need to know is "do I like it?" The only Chardonnay I like and will drink is made by Gary. Gary has always greated us like he's been waiting for us to arrive. What a great feeling. We live about 2 hrs away and love to jump in the car and visit Silvara. Very over rated wine tasting experience. The claimed view from a peak is actually a hill overlooking the always busy US 2 between Leavenworth and Wenatchee. It was like sampling wine at a bus station while all the exhaust fumes and motor sounds constantly kept you aware of your fast-paced life in your hectic environment. Parking was about non-existent and if you weren't lucky enough to snag one of the 4 spaces you had to park in the orchard somewhere and hike up the hill. We stepped off a tour bus that was bringing us to Leavenworth and quickly sipped little bits of wine that I don't really remember (although I bought three bottles at Chateau Faire Le Pont Winery) and a girl at our table purchased a cheese platter. A woman we were think said she'd never been to Silvara before today because it was perpetually closed. But it was opened for us, and I enjoyed it! The view was beautiful!
