I cannot recommend anyone bring their child here. We had to have our child removed from their care multiple times due to "loose stools" To the point where we had to get his stool examined by medical professionals. We were told his stools were normal and that he is healthy and presented a letter to the Kinder team. Which wasn't enough because we still got reported his stools were loose and had to take him home from care. The worst part about all of this is that they lied or reporting on one of his bowel movements, saying he had repeated loose watery stools. They provided pictures of the first one and reported that he had another one within the same hour and showed a picture of the same diaper. We also had this confirmed with an former employee that they reported the same diaper twice so that we would have to come get him due to diarrhea. It seems like their main goal is to come up with any excuse of you having to pick your child up from their care. My main gripe is that they clearly lied to us about a bowel moment, and if they can so easily lie about that who knows what else they could be lying about. read more

My infant is currently enrolled in there infant classroom. I can't be more then happy to have my baby in their care. We enrolled with this center over 3 months ago and I was first concerned with 1 of the teachers. But over last month. There is a new set of teachers in the classroom and they're amazing. They're always sending me updates and the do a great job with communication!! I'm also happy with the management that is running the center. When I did have concerns or questions they helped me! I'm happy I found a great learning center for my infant! read more

My kids have been coming here for nearly 4 years. Teachers have come and gone but the core group they have now has been there for a while and they are absolutely wonderful! We were all sad the kids were going to be aging out, but with covid, they've been able to be in a distance learning classroom at the center which has been a total lifesaver for me as a working parent. The staff is great at communicating how each day went and I get updates through the day on the app. read more

My two boys loved this center. To the great directors and teachers, giving nothing but loving and amazing support. My boys learned so much from this center. When my 5 year old son had to start kindergarten, he was sad he was leaving his friends and teachers. My boys were taught respect and kindness, manners and how to support all their friends. read more

When I brought my daughter to the Silverlake Kindercare. She was so nervous. But the Teachers there made her feel so welcome. They took the time to show her all the fun stuff she can so. And I was struggling to get her potty trained. And the teachers helped by getting her trained. And then after that they taught my daughter to write her name. The staff here are amazing. My daughter talks about her teachers all the time. And she loves the food they make for her and her friends. And the staff makes sure I am up to date on all that she does. By Telling me how she was that day in person. From Taking Photos and sending them to me. So I can see her while I am doing what I have to do for her. I so recommend this place for your kids. read more

The teachers are getting worse and worse. First off, they're not friendly, and seem way too harsh with the kids. Please don't go here

We had one poor experience after another for three months. From bites on our first day to constantly smacked heads to a teacher who couldn't seem to organize herself enough to take a photo of my child for over a week until I inquired, and despite all these events I tried to give them grace and tell myself certain things are beyond even great teachers' control. The final straw was when my preschooler came home with deep purple and red bruising on his genitalia that wasn't there when I dropped him off. No incident report came home with him. When I showed up the next business day to demand my children's things, the director tried to blame stand-up diapering as the reason they hadn't noticed this very obvious, very large injury on my child. So either they have inadequate supervision so as to observe and prevent altercations between children leading to injury incidents; or they're negligent in caring for these children's basic functions; or they did know and hoped we wouldn't notice such a thing; or SOMETHING ELSE ENTIRELY happened to my child's genitals in their care. It's also worth noting that the director, to whom I brought my children because she made me feel like I could trust her, just nodded and said "okay" like she wasn't even surprised as I angrily told her why I was pulling them out of her facility. Zero acknowledgment that something like this shouldn't have happened, zero indications that they would try to figure out what actually happened, zero attempt at an apology for an injury that occurred in her building and under her care, that had my child squirming in pain all weekend. read more

We like this daycare. First off, there is a new director, Emily Rose, and she is great. The area feels secure, the curriculum is great, they listen to our needs. I've heard the kids speak Spanish and I know they are fed well. The teachers there currently know what they are doing and interact very well with the kids. read more

Hi potential parents. First off, 3-stars isn't 'bad' it just means it was o-k by the end of the day. I came from a MUCH more expensive program before Kindercare (with live video stream of my kiddo all day!) so I felt spoiled. But I had paid to feel spoiled. As a former childcare provider, current teacher, and mother, I'm probably a more informed and aware childcare consumer than most. I'm also MUCH more realistic. This Kindercare site provides service for a diverse range of children, given it's location. Some of the children who go here likely have high-stress living circumstances. In THAT case they may not experience a lot of routine or have boundaries and expectations that make everyday at a childcare and learning center run smoothly and without incident for ALL children there. I can't say I did hear about a handful of troubling incidents, but I never felt that my concerns were ignored. I purposefully kept a very open dialog with my child's teachers and the site administration so I never felt 'surprised', by much. When we left the program it was in part due to planning to leave for summer break and alternative in-home family care options in the fall AND how a breakdown in communication made what I considered a non-critical situation into one that felt unnerving. About our time here.... The good: my son is a bright kid. I don't mean just an early learner, I mean BRIGHT. And he always had something to say about the social and academic aspects of his pre-K day. His then-teacher (Miss Gretchen, we miss you!) was wonderful with him. Patient, caring, and motivated to give them a lot of opportunity to learn about their focus topics He would come home with all kinds of information courtesy of Miss Gretchen. He STILLS talks about how his misses learning there. I felt the KindCare Pre-K curriculum was very relevant for local district Kindergarten curriculum. The okay: On the social side, my son's peer group was pretty rough and tumble. My son isn't a wimpy kid to say the least, but he started here when he was 4.5yo, so at a very still-physical time of development. We had to use a behavior chart at home to manage his physical responses to others, and after a month he'd dialed it way back. TALKING WITH his teacher everyday helped me monitor things and have conversations with him at home about problem solving. Beyond that, my son liked his friends and especially liked seeing some at his new school in the fall. There were a couple of kids he routinely complained about and that segways into the ugly. The ugly: Managing preschoolers has got to be one of the most difficult, thankless, dirty, reward jobs EVER. I've worked with every age, grade, and ability over 2 decades, and preschoolers are like energy thieves. Plus they can be very naughty as they test out every possible angle for getting away with things. This is where having a well trained, well compensated, well supported, well STAFFED, staff matters. For the most part I felt this KinderCare covered those bases within the restrictions of the general corporate mandate. But because they service a number of children who likely live in unsteady situations (which often promotes all kind of behavior issues ON TOP of being 2-5yo), well, this can cause problems. And it did. A handful of times kids managed to hide away and behave inappropriately with each other; whether is was hitting or showing private parts, etc. This actually surprised me given their fairly strict protocol for not letting kids be in the bathroom together AND reporting every little incident ( I had a stack of incident reports for my son a mile high for every little scratch, etc). But still kids just do things. I accept that. I accept that I cannot protect my child from every annoyance in the world so I talk to him about how to deal with it and process it. Th UGLY here happened when communication between staff during transitions broke down so things weren't followed up on or communicate with each other or with the parent (in this case) the way it should have been. This can be unnerving and reassuring to say the least. I have been on the staff side of these situations before and they are horrible. But not as bad...never as bad as the parent feels. I had a very frank conversation with staff and administration in the lead up to our ending our time at this KinderCare and I felt heard and well-received. I also knew I was moving on. In total, most days here were a 4 or a 5 star experience for me and my child. But it is always the small handful of 0 or 1 star days that people want to focus on. I think you are likely to have an o-k to good experience here depending on how you approach interacting with those who you are trusting to care for your child. If you never talk to them or read the daily notes or talk to your child, but then one day something is 'wrong' you will feel far less likely and able to move through the issue if you have no rapport with your provider. read more

We recently moved to the area and toured this site. While the director Katrina seems friendly enough the staff are NOT! I never even knew any of their names nor do I think they knew mine! I work in down town Seattle at my shift starts at 6am so I don't get many oppertunities to pick up or drop off our daughter but none of them ever even tried to introduce themselves to me. One morning I got to drop her off and the am teacher didn't even look up as we entered the class room, let alone say good morning, and the only time anyone ever spoke to us about her was when she was a bit crabby one day and a teacher approached my husband and asked what was going on with her because an incident when the teacher asked her to sit at a table she sat at another table and when she asked her agian to sit at the right table my daughter replied "I am sitting at the table'. Apparently for them that was cause for concern because that "just wasn't like the *name* they knew!" First off she had only been there at that time two weeks part time (3 full days a week). How do you know a child and their disposition after 6 days? Especially a girl! Lol We took her out after 3 weeks there due to other incidents as well and put her back in her origanal school.The place she is at now we LOVE and couldn't be hapier even if it does mean paying more in tuition and gas and the extra time it takes to get her to and from. read more
