this restaurant has the best won ton soup. their broth is dark and flavorful. many wonton soups are pretty tasteless but not this one.

Excellent food, best Chinese restaurant in the area!!

In the beginning of testing this place out I thought there was something good going on here but I later realized it's worse than I thought. Bland food. It's not terribly bad but just not good. There's never any pork in their fried rice, boneless pork is very fatty, and it has a distinct smell to there food at times. Eww I dunno anymore tread lightly. Good food; good prices; and great service. Enough said. I have tried all the other Chinese restaurants in this area and I always find myself coming back to silver lake. I only wish they had a larger eat in area sometimes for when I want to sit down and eat but I usually get my food for take-out anyways. Linda & company run the best chinese restaurant around. In a town featuring five chinese restaurants on two roads Silver Lake is the only one that is ever busy, largely due to the fact that everything on the menu is great. I usually stick to the General Tso's combination plate & boneless spare ribs & they are scrumptious. Linda also gives extra goodies to her regulars, so usually I always end up with a container of soup or two despite not ordering soup. I, nor anyone I know, has ever had an experience like Alicia D. mentioned in her review. The one time in all the years I've gone there the only issue I've ever had was one evening I received an egg roll instead of a shrimp roll. Linda said "No problem. I'll make this right for you." She allowed me to keep the egg roll & then gave us the shrimp roll without issue. read more

Best Chinese food in Ocean County, maybe Monmouth County too! We have been ordering from Silverlake kitchen for many years. The food is always fresh and cooked to perfection! Linda the owner is usually on site and treats us like gold! She values her customers and always goes above and beyond to accommodate us. I am in Sales and drive around Ocean County all the time for over 35 years and I have been searching for good Chinese food all the time. One of my best friends is Chinese and has taught me what good Chinese food is all about. I got a rather large order from this place on Friday to give it a good test. I am blown away with how excellent everything was ! This food is outstanding. Thanks to the reviewers on Yelp for helping me find this place. People who think this is the best Chinese in the area don't get out much. The food is OK -- sauce is really bland, dumplings have this weird dark brown meat etc. But the reason for the bad review is the horrible customer service. We called to order and the woman who answered was in a big rush and kept interrupting our order. Not surprising, then, when our food arrived it was missing rice. We called, and instead of "So sorry -- we'll get that right out," she started arguing with with us. Are we sure we know where to look (duh, in the bag)? Are we sure we didn't miss it (little white things, yeah... seen it before)? Maybe they put it in with the dumplings (uh.. why?). She knows it's there etc. Very aggressive and suspicious and angry -- at US! Like it's the Great Rice Caper of 2019. Finally, we just hung up. About a half hour later she called and left a message. Once again -- she'd talked to the person who packed our bag and they swore they put it in there (what are they gong to say?). We didn't call back. Then there was a loud banging on the front door. A delivery person was there with the rice, threw it at my husband and took off. NEVER again. There are a lot of Chinese places and you'd have to be nuts to take that kind of abuse more than once. read more

Worst chinese I have had in a while, general tso's chicken overcooked and dumplings under cooked. Not edible. On the plus side it was convenient and ready on time for pick up. Must be new owners, used to be good. read more

This place is dirty and disgusting . I tried the pu pu platter and it was terrible. Dirty , dirty , dirty.

Not sure where all the great reviews are coming from, but due to this I gave this place a try and couldn't be more disappointed. It's cheap, I'll give them that, but otherwise some of the worst Chinese food I've ever had. This help is disorganized and just standing at the counter you can see the kitchen in plain view... and what a filthy mess! I think the health department should inspect this place soon. read more
