The eggrolls are fresh and good. The BBQ spareribs are delicious. They are meaty and the sauce is just right. Not clawingly sweet and not bland. Order is ready in 15 minutes. Packed up with fresh muster and duck sauce. ( they have the small plastic packets, but I request the fresh) Chinese noodles for the soup are fresh and crisp. Prices are very reasonable. Decided to give this place a try and was extremely disappointed. Not one thing ordered tasted good. The fried rice was not edible, the broth in the wonton soup was good but the wontons were hard. The sauce on the general Tsaos was ok but the chicken was over cooked, dried out and required excessive chewing. If you are looking for good Chinese food keep looking this is not the place to go. read more

My family and I thought we'd try Chinese cuisine for Thanksgiving. We tried calling in an order and were told on the voicemail to order online. The website explicitly stated they were open on Nov 28th (Thanksgiving). Finally got a waitress and things went better from there. Place could use a refresher. It seems old and outdated and not very comfortable. I guess most of their business is take out. I see why. My wife and I patronize our favorite restaurants, usually for a specific dish that they serve that is better than similar dishes offered elsewhere. Every Thursday we go to Szechuan Tokyo specifically for the Negimaki, the Japanese dish consisting of broiled strips of beef marinated in teriyaki sauce and rolled with scallions. While it is not equal to the Negimaki to which I was accustomed when living in New York, it is the best to be found anywhere around this neck of the woods. Since it is BYOB, we usually stop at the Foodtown, located in the same strip mall, to pick up a bottle of Sake Wine to complement our meal. The service here is excellent - very friendly, fast, courteous, and efficient. The salad and miso soup, which are included with the meal, are always fresh and very tasty. My wife and I each get a California Roll, which is also quite good, as an appetizer before eating the Negamaki entrée. Every course arrives at the table at just the right time - never rushed. Best of all, the prices are extremely reasonable for such an enjoyable dining experience. read more

Tucked away in a dated strip mall is this gem of a place! Got into town and after a long hot day didn't feel like cooking. Kids ordered boiled dumplings (amazing!), an avocado cucumber roll, and chicken with broccoli. There brown Daise on the chicken was great - just the right amount of garlic and soy! We normally go to a different restaurant for Chinese food, but many were closed due to COVID 19, so we ordered from here. What a pleasant surprise, the food was excellent. We had a myriad of dishes that did not disappoint. They said 45 minutes for delivery and it came right on time. I asked for additional duck sauce and spicy mustard and they provided it in a bowl, not the individual packages. BYOB , That's had to be said first. Lol. I've been here two times before. With friends and it was good vibes. They offer hibachi and sushi. Apparently they do Korean BBQ but it's on another side of the restaurant that might not be available all the time . You start off with a salad and a crunchy cracker and two dipping sauces beware the yellow looks like mustard and it might be spiked with wasabi. And the other sauce it's red and it's sweet. Ok for Chinese take out if you stick to the basics: General Tso chicken, mu shu pork, garlic chicken and broccoli, etc.... avoid the sushi, as this is not their calling. We found the fried pork dumplings chewy and over cooked. The lo mien was ok but nothing exciting. And no mixed lo mien available. So, netting it out....ok pit stop on your way home from work to pick up dinner on a weekday night when you don't feel like cooking. It's a meal. read more

Very exciting to find a Chinese restaurant in Monmouth County that offers vegetarian "meats"! The vegetarian General Tso's chicken was really good. One word of warning, though.... we ordered take out, and ordered 1 regular General Tso's chicken plus 1 with the veggie chicken. They were not labeled as to which was which, and it was hard to tell them apart. My husband and my mother tasted some of each, and even after eating them, it was hard to tell the real chicken from the fake. So, this is a complement, in that the vegetarian was so realistic.... but it would be a problem for future people who get take out of both real meat and vegetarian meat. As the name implies, the menu is both Chinese and Japanese. I opted for some sushi, as there were many vegetarian and vegan options. All of it was very good! A great find! I will return to dine in the restaurant whenever I find myself back in NJ! read more

This really pains me to write because I have been a long time fan of this place since even before they switched over to being a Chinese/sushi/hibachi spot. The food used to be awesome and the service was great. Lately the quality has seriously dropped off and I have had two bad experiences with them. First off I got the mackerel sushi and the fish was mushy and clearly very old. Not spoiled but very old. I gave them a pass because, hey maybe noone ever buys mackerel. I went in again recently and the place smelled really bad of old fish. (Strike 1) then I saw a roach crawl up the wall (strike 2) then I got my food and it was horrible (strike 3) I will definitely give them another try soon... Hopefully they clean the place up and get back on track because they used to be great. I look forward to he day when I can edit this review and add some stars! read more

We ordered from here a long time ago and it was pretty good, tried it again a few months ago and wasn't pleased. Decided to give it one more shot tonight. Ordered delivery on a Monday night bc my regular place is closed Monday's. I was told 30-45 minutes, took an hour. Normally I wouldn't care, but it was cold when I got it, so that I cared about. Nothing was good. Not terrible, but not really worth eating either. Crab Rangoon: wonton was really thick (like lasagna sheet thick) and the filling was pretty flavorless. There are better crab Rangoon in the frozen food section of the grocery store. Egg Roll: this was mostly all thick wonton, not much filling at all and tasted like fried wonton. There was not enough filling to provide any flavor. Shrimp toast: actually not bad at all. This and the chicken being good quality pieces, are the reasons for 2 stars instead of one. General Tso's Chicken with Fried Rice: ok so this was wrong on so many levels. The fried rice was literally white rice with soy sauce on it. It had nothing in it. Not one thing but rice and soy sauce, i don't think it was cooked in a pan at all. For the chicken, I asked for white meat and did get good pieces of breast meat, so that's a plus. However it was prepared like sweet and sour chicken (battered and deep fried, thick batter) and was in a brown sauce that by my guess was a combo of sweet and sour sauce and soy sauce. So it was pretty bad. Just didn't taste good, flat flavor in a non blended basic sauce. We actually threw away most of it and the crab Rangoon bc they were just not worth eating. I'd rather eat plain bread. Honestly I don't know how this place is in business for so long. There are such better places in the area. Chinese food is pretty cheap, I'm not expecting gourmet food but I have seen more care to preparation and ingredients in a mall food court Chinese place. I would say: don't bother, make a PB&J instead, you'll be happier. read more

We went to go eat there. Very disappointed it was empty. Although we were hesitant, we ordered food to go. It was quick and friendly. We love great Chinese, Thai and Japanese food!! We live primarily up north where there is the best! We had GREAT meaty ribs, and delicious tuna naruto ( tuna and avocado wrapped in cucumber, no rice.). even though it was not on the menu they made it and it was delicious. We had soft shell crab roll which was great!The shrimp pad thai was very good, the kani salad ok. Shrimp with lobster sauce, not the best.. Their New Korean BBQ experiment is a total fail. Not the right equipment, table seating and space layout is awkward and cramped. The table grill was clearly a homemade POS. The steel grill topper under high heat warped and shot up off the grill with a bang launching the cooking meat aloft; after which we struggled to cook on an uneven surface. They brought over another garage made topper that again warped to a barely usable unevenness in minutes. Then there is the atmosphere... dark and dingy with the back of the room being used as a large storage area. Boxes and miscellaneous clutter all over the place. It all lends to a general feel of uncleanliness. Food... the banchan (sides) were lackluster to put it best. Sent back filet mignon as the entire table agreed there was something wrong with it... it tasted far from fresh. Everything else was just meh. Service was slow and clumsy which is odd considering that all they have to do is bring you your order and you cook yourself. I was tempted to "call an audible" and get up and walk out as soon as we were seated. It was a mistake not doing so. read more

My daughters attend the dance studio a few doors down. We will get our family dinner for a night or they will grab a personal meal from Szechuan Tokyo on occasion. The woman who works the desk/phone is very efficient & fast. Once my daughter was short $2 and they comped her the $. It's nice to have a healthier option (sushi) for my girls as opposed to the pizzeria & DD. As a family we have eaten in & had a nice experience. We find the food to be good & the service pleasant. Clean atmosphere. We have not tried the hibachi. This is a great option for people who love both Chinese & sushi take-out in one location! read more
