I think I like Wendy's chili better, if I'm going to compare fast food joints' chili's. Tip: They have a nice little cubby hole table in the corner with device charging. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Quite a bit to like here. 8" is about the sandwich size I always want. The bread was really soft and delicious. Both the "Cripple Creek" (chicken bacon ranch) and "Steam Engine" (meatball) sandwiches were quite good. I really like the way the mining theme, a nod to Colorado history, is carried through in many ways, from sandwich names to the wall decorations. The people were super sweet. Very kind and helpful. The kids meal was also a good deal, I was able to make my daughter an Italian sandwich and she loved it. But now my sandwich, the smokestack? I think it was called - basically a Philly. It was absolutely disgusting. I felt sick biting into it, the meat tasted off, almost like it was dog food. I ended up throwing the sandwich away - I've got a headache after eating some of it. I couldn't get the foul taste out of my mouth - so I quite literally drove down the road to Taste of Philly to get another sandwich, something I've never done before. We come here a lot! The kids meals are great value and I love that they let you sub a regular chips instead of the goldfish and fruit snacks--especially nice for older kids. NEVER GOT MY ORDER I plaed an order last night December 23rd and never got it through door dash. I called the store and they said it was because they where out of the bread I ordered through door dash. So I said this is fine and the gentleman on the other Said he would cancel the order. The order never got canceled. And door dash never took the hit. I took that hit. So this is less of a bashing on silvermin just there option to put themselves onto a platform that delivers food when they already have a platform that delivers food. First time eating here, and I will never go back again. I ordered the deadwood sub, and it just tasted awful, I was starving but couldn't even get half way into the sub without feeling sick. I'm not sure why this place hasn't been reviewed yet. Or if they're just so long established that no one even bothers because they make really yummy sandwiches. Silver Mine Subs isn't like your typical Subway (or any other chain) sandwich shop. They have a menu which lists all the ingredients and that's what you get. Ok. Sounds typical, right? Well folks .. they have ingredients like SPROUTS! This to me makes it far better than your typical "wich" establishment. Oh and they have 3 different sizes. Had I known the medium was an 8" and not a 6", I probably would've opted for the small. Not because the sandwich was bad .. but because it was big. So the remaining 2" I ended up saving to eat later. ***AVOID THIS LOCATION*** I guess the geniuses that run this place enjoy permanently losing customers? I parked to get a sandwich at this shop. I was obviously a paying customer (I even left a tip - BIG mistake). I had visited this store 2 days previously, so they may even have recognized me. Today I decided to get a coffee from Starbucks next door in addition to buying a sandwich. When I got back to my car, one of the very highly trained and professional workers (read: stoner high-schoolers making minimum wage) had slapped two huge Silver Mine stickers straight on the front windshield of my car. I guess it was their idea of a parking ticket for me having the audacity to patronize their neighboring business? Tried to peel them off, and the stickers left a nasty residue that's going to require acetone and heavy scraping to remove. A more petty or spiteful victim could have reported this illegal act of vandalism to the police, or sued the shop for the damages and cost of repair to my car. Luckily for the shop I will limit my response to posting this review. What the hell are they thinking? If this is how they treat a customer I don't know how they stay in business. I will never return to this location and I would urge you to avoid it in favor of one of the dozens of other sandwich ships in the area. read more

It'd been about a year since I ordered from Silver Mine - their FoCo location never seemed to get things right. I figured it was about time to let the Loveland location take a shot. But... they missed too. Ordered a large Lawless Leadville (Club) last week and was surprised at the quality - large portions, everything seemed fresh. This week I ordered a Homestake (Philly Cheese) and was SO DISAPPOINTED. The beef on this thing was diced and coated in a gravy (like canned dog food - sorry for the analogy but nothing else looks like this). Someone in the kitchen thought it'd be a good idea to make this with RAW onions and green peppers (and not very many), pair it up with two slices of cheese and then deliver. No where have I ever seen raw veggies on a Philly Steak sandwich and there's a good reason - it's terrible that way. The shame of it is - if you're having two meals delivered, you'll probably pay between $20-30. For the food to come out like this is inexcusable. My advise - steer clear. I'd have been much happier brown-bagging a soggy PBJ than choking down that damned sandwich. read more

A long time ago I went in to silvermine and got a sandwich, don't remember which one, and didn't go back for a long time. Why? Because 1. There was a foot long black hair in my sandwhich 2. The store was FILTHY and 3. The employees were rude. A couple years later, nothing's really changed. Last night I ordered a sandwich and turkey chili, the sandwhich was great and fresh and free from hair... but the turkey chili (which I've ordered multiple times from this location before recently) was not. I paid A DOLLAR extra for some freaking cheese, and when it was delivered it was not on the side in a Togo cup like EVERY OTHER TIME I've ordered it. I also ordered extra onions, also not on the side. I called in and they explained to me that the cheddar is on the bottom of the bowl and the onions on top. I then explained to them that I have always gotten my extras on the side and would like it to be fixed, because that's what I wanted. They said ok, theyd send it back out for me. I get a phone call 30 minutes later (after I've finished my turkey chili) and the delivery driver tells me "we don't have time to waste bringing you a side of cheddar". I lost it. You don't talk to customers that way, not in a million years. You don't have "time to waste" on fixing my order? Then I don't have time to waste ordering your shitty food. read more

Took over an hour to be delivered after I'd tipped 20% already (a practice I cant stand! Why should we have to tip in advance if we dont know how the service will be?) Then the 2nd time the order was messed up and the girl that I took the order with was pretty rude. My order came late and my hot sub was room temp. Thankfully I got my money back for the sandwich they messed up. The girl that answered when I called in complaining about my order was super nice. Then TODAY I called to give them another chance. This time I kept my receipt..... The same girl was taking orders but was pretty rude it says EMP:pg082705 when it was time to say goodbye she just hung up on me! My food came 40 minutes later and my subs were room temp AGAIN. Managers should make sure the girls taking orders say their names when they answer because that girl must be getting away with being rude to customers. I give up. Got the teriyaki chicken sub and thought I was eating watered-down cardboard. No discernible flavor in the "sandwich" area. So much so I threw more than half of it away. The quality has really dropped at Silver Mine. One other thing, you can't build a sandwich (at least when I called in they said I couldn't do that) so we had to order one from the menu and then add or subtract ingredients. I feel like I need to update this review. The last 3 times I have visited this store (it's very close to my workplace, very convenient) it has been great! There was a small staff turn over I think and the crew I have had build my sandwich, take my order etc, was much better than before. They were a lot more friendly. I'm hoping the manager or owner had a talk with the employees about customer service and specifically being friendly. I'm glad it's much better because I do really enjoy their food. read more

My wife stopped in today and it was great. There is actually more to their subs than bread and lettuce. I had the roast beef and it was delicious. The staff of 18 to 20 somethings were having fun but I was impressed they really moved orders through quickly. The building is a little dated but it was clean. We ordered a meatball sub with cheese and received a "steam engine" - the person taking the order over the phone kept rudely correcting me - being snippy - you want a Steam Engine when I ordered a meatball with cheese.
