    A fun ska band.
    Carlee D.

I had 1 fun night out in Bend and this place was a key part to that. I met the brewer mid-day and enjoyed asking lots of questions about their beer and even tried the root beer. Later that evening they had 2 different bands playing, one inside and one outside. Both bands were super fun, and on a Sunday still drew a great crowd. I look forward to stopping in again the next time I am in Bend for the summer or winter.

This was one of the few places I visited on my own in an effort to complete another section of the Bend Ale Trail. Silver Moon is farther away from the other brewery districts, but still a 10-15 min walk from downtown. It's on the same road leading out of town toward Pilot Butte, which you can easily see from the brewery. I was here on a weekday early afternoon so it was relatively empty. The space is beautiful; what looks like just another storefront along a busy road hides a long corridor with musicians mural both to the side door into the main bar and back to the outdoor beer garden. It's much bigger than it looks! Outdoors there are a bunch of various sized tables, perfect for small to larger groups. There is standing room and bar benches all over, perfect for mingling during the summer time. They also have a number of fire pits, which I'm sure are cozy on a chilly or snowy day you still want to be outside. The interior is dark and open with a large floor. The bartender was super friendly and welcoming, telling me all about the place. From his description, I got that this is more of a live music venue with a brewery than the other way around. They have an interior stage with large floor for standing or dancing and handful of high top tables nearby the bar area. Around to the left is a small merchandise section and large clean restrooms. The bar area was big with lots of beer options. I opted for a flight of six and stuck to styles that I loved plus a few I figured would pair with the relatively sunny and warm afternoon of the day I was there. The only thing I really wasn't overly impressed with were the beers; each was good to okay, nothing was wrong but neither did anything wow me. Regardless, I would love to come check this place out again, maybe next time on a weekend evening to see a band and share some beers with friends.

Cute beer garden with good music and food trucks. Service was very friendly. The dry hopped pils, Simon hazy and f cancer were all real good. Def worth a stop

Cool brewery with lots of different food trucks! There are often events here such as comedy nights, trivia, burlesque shows and concerts. I saw SNBRN here for the block party concert and it was a blast. The stage was awesome, cool decorations & bubbles and little pools to dip your feet in. They have multiple bathrooms and places to buy drinks so the lines weren't too long. They have a great selection of beer and cocktails, my favorite is the mango daze!

Beautiful brewery with a huge outside space for enjoying music, good, beer and company. We went ahead and had the Bob food which was fresh and delicious. The live entertainment was great and I enjoyed a delicious sour beer. I will be back! Oh, and that mural was epic!

Very tasty beer and a laid back environment created a very pleasant experience for us.

I've been wanting to come to Silver Moon Brewing for a long time. Steve and I were in Bend a few years ago and went to a lot of breweries in town and Silver Moon was on the list however when we got here there was a sign up saying that they were closed due to remodeling so our visit here had to get slated until our next trip to Bend. So recently that finally happened and we were glad we made sure to come back. The taproom was nice and spacious and when there is nice weather a really fine looking area for outdoor seating. On my visit here I got a Mexican style lager which proved to be very enjoyable. It may have not been my all time favorite Mexican Lager ever but I liked it plenty. Steven got a Vienna Lager which was good and refreshing as well. I'm glad the wait to visit Silver Moon finally happened and I bought some great swag here, a cool t shirt with a crescent moon on it!

This was such an amazing place! Makes me want to move to Bend in the future. They had a delicious cider (see photo), and a beautiful outdoor seating area. Lots of shade for a hot day, "F-Cancer" merch, their own merch, and plenty of drink options. I'm not a huge beer drinker so I try to find new ciders to try and these are definitely a must! Staff was excellent, they wore masks (though they weren't very picky if you, yourself, weren't wearing one), and they were overall very helpful and kind. This was our first and last stop on our "Boozy Bike Ride" which I also highly recommend if you are a.) a drinker b.) vacationing with friends or family Though I would recommend that you wear summer type clothes if you're planning to do this is the summer because riding a seven person bike in 84 degree weather became a bit much for wearing a t-shirt and shorts. Overall, I would definitely come back to Silver Moon and I look forward to bringing my family here next time I travel down!

    Cheers

Ok, didn't have any food but the beers were awesome. Had the dogs with us so we needed to sit outside. It was a gorgeous day and their patio is amazing. When I did go inside the service was friendly and informative about what was going on that weekend at the brewery. I would definitely recommend this place.

Driving through Bend and needed a quick place to stop for lunch. We hit the goldmine with Silver Moon Brewing! The location is right off the freeway (but the car noise isn't too loud and is relatively ambient). Love how much outdoor space they have - can accommodate lots of social distancing. Their food is AMAZING. I can't speak more highly of the quality and quantity of the food we received. Since we were on the road we opted for non-alcoholic beverages but wish we had more time to sample some of their beers. We are driving through Bend again in a few weeks, and a stop at Silver Moon is already on our list.

Cool place to hang out. Bring the dogs. Great variety of food trucks. Definitely recommend. I like their apparel too

Not what I expect but it is nice. They offer no flights of beer but you can sample taste before purchasing. Outdoor is spacious and there are a few food trucks tho when we went most were closed. Understandable as it was a Wednesday afternoon.

After eight years, Crux is overdue for a review update. Biggest reason is that quite a few years…read moreago they expanded the place significantly, opening up the large room to the right of the bar that opens into the outdoor area. That room is equipped with restrooms, relieving one of my major complaints about a lack of facilities, as well as a second serving station complete with taps. Since then, Crux has significantly changed the outdoor area as well although I'm not certain it's an upgrade. It's a little too landscaped and way too much like a playground now. Locals have always tended to refer to Crux as 'daycare but with beer.' The last several times I've come here, the second serving station has not been in operation even though it looks to be still fully functional. Meanwhile the line to the bar serving stations is often long, sometimes almost out the door. Not sure why that is, doesn't make sense to have the capacity to more efficiently serve customers but not use it. All that said, the beer is still stellar and they continue to have a wide range of beer choices, the new(ish) large room has plentiful high-top seating (mobility challenged folks will need to venture outside), and the music is kept below ear-splitting volume. You can also sit at the bar itself although the vibe there isn't great - it's not like a neighborhood pub bar. Crux still has a kitchen. I used to order directly from them but have since transitioned to patronizing one of the several food carts outside. Being food carts, they tend to come and go so I'll not go into detail there. That said, the new Alpine Smash burger is fabulous. The other significant change in recent years has been with the location. A dispute with the property owners to the west resulted in the access road that way being closed, requiring Crux patrons to use the road coming from Second/Scott Street (or ride a bike). The west road is now open, maybe because the Jackstraw housing complex over that way is now completed and the road serves their tenants. RIP Spoken Moto.

So on our last trip to Bend we finally made it here to the their taproom and it didn't disappoint at all. It was a great stop! We got a taster set of a variety of different beers that they had on tap and they were all quite good. Many of them have a wild ale aspect to them which I can appreciate at you don't come across this beer too much on a routine basis. The taproom is cool and I love all of their art specifically where fermentation liquids spilled onto a sheet or a cloth making various designs and hues during the brewing making process of their beers. Other excellent beers that we have had from this brewery are the Samalie which is a Wild Ale. This one I rated very highly on Untappd because it was so amazing! Things to look for in the flavor profile are sourness, tartness, fruitiness, a natural sweetness and a dry finish. Really an excellent beer! Moving on from that we had the great Ping Pong Table Beer. This was another beer I rated quite highly and enjoyed immensely. This beer is light bodies, smooth and effervescent with the flavor of elderflower at work. Another excellent beer! Definitely great beer experiences with this brewery and definitely recommend it to the more adventurous beer drinking folks. There are plenty of breweries to try out in Bend and if you are looking for something on the more unusual side The Ale Apothecary is a great place for such a thing!

Ale Apothecary is a wild fermentation brewery and blendery located in a commercial plaza in Bend. They don't have food, but there's plenty of other great options nearby including Bo's Falafel and Good Life Brewing around the corner. If you're on the Bend Ale Trail, this is a must-visit stop as well. We visited on a weekday afternoon after opening, so it wasn't busy at all. The friendly beer server was welcoming and shared about the brewery, explaining about the bottle selections, how they make everything, and what was available on tap or in bottles to try that day. The décor is super eclectic with fun things to look at and enjoy while sipping. They also have picnic tables and outdoor seating if you'd prefer. Bottles are also available to go. For its uniqueness, prices are super reasonable for complex beers. This isn't a brewery for everyone however, even their customer demanded line of "regular beers" each has a signature of funk from their house yeast strains. As a beer lover that enjoys everything, it was fun to taste each thing; friends enjoyed this place very much as well. If you're an adventurous beer fan, this is worth your time!
