I have been a resident here at Silver Springs for almost a year and am set to be discharged soon after improving greatly from when I first arrived here. I arrived here from the hospital and I wasn't doing so well. I didn't remember much but I was told that I could have died if I hadn't received medical attention when I had. When I first stepped foot in Silver Springs everyone was very nice to me and as was mandatory I attended time in the gym where I did my rehabilitation. In the gym I was treated like family and the staff there really helped me regain my mobility. When I was finished with my rehabilitation I would still come by to say hi to the staff. I also attended iRecovery and felt that it was beneficial to the reasons for why I was here. The program director was wonderful and really helped me with everything I was going through. I ended up in a position where I had to go back to rehabilitation for another issue and the staff was once again fantastic by helping me out and even going above the call by reading up on treatments while they were off-duty. The recreation staff were amazing too, always having different activities to participate in that I took advantage of because it helped keep me busy. My wife is currently in this place. They are terrible. Please don't ever let your family go here. My wife is there because of broken bones and nobody helps her go to the bathroom, hasn't had a shower in over a week. Is challenged over her medication. Has no air conditioner g in her room while every other room has air conditioner and it's been a 100 degrees many days. I got to visit her almost everyday and we go outside well today we go outside in to the parking lot so she can sit in the car and have some air conditioning and I get told today that's not allowed yet it's been just fine everyday. Then I had our sons with us and they said we couldn't be out there because they we concerned with her safety. Yet they sent the desk clerk out and then a female with an attitude and security was behind both of them. I'm glad he's not keeping my house safe. Why would you put a clerk and a female in front if you're concerned for safety? Then the supervisor threatens to not let my wife back in the facility. If the supervisor wanted to do her job she could have looked at the check in paper and seen we were family. Then I got told the parking lot was off the property. So the facility just uses other people parking lots. Even though it's a dead end with nothing else there. Unbelievable. I'm filing a complaint against silver springs with the governor next buisiness day. I've seen people sitting in the hallways soiled and l have left and came back and they are still just sitting there. I could keep going on it's truly unreal. And here we are 8 hours later and still not even a call. To sum up. My wife had her husband and two sons visit. We had permission from the front entrance associate to go to the parking lot which was done several days prior with no issues. But when advised the mentioned actions were not permitted there was immediate compliance by patient/ resident and yet the patient was threatened to be locked out so care was no longer available , even though said patient never said anything and was completely compliant and all visitors were verified. So her well being was compromised for complying. Then the facilities manage on that day decided to search her room stating her medical record warranted such search. First of all she is the for broken bones. It drug addiction but most important apparently the staff has access to hippa protected information or the supervisor lied. This isn't close to being over. I have currently have a friend in this facility. I went to visit him there. There was no running water in the bathrooms, and you could not flush the toilets or wash your hands after using them. I was in three of them. Not one had running water and all of them had something in the toilets, no bottled water in any of them either. I used the sanitizer station in the hall. When I asked them why, the Aide or Nurse told me Legionnaire bacteria is in the water. My friend has been there a month and they haven't had running water in the building since then. Trash is all over the floors, cleaning staff swept trash under a bed while I watched. It smells and all the windows on the second floor that I looked at were screwed shut. Don't they know what safety bars are? This place should be shut down. In response to David's reply...the water has not been turned on for over a month in there. It was off when my friend arrived and it's still off. Second, I am not a liar, the windows were screwed shut in the room where visitors visit, how do I know this? because I went to open one when the stench from feces in the toilet THAT WOULD NOT FLUSH got too overpowering for me. Silver Springs Care Center - The sink shut down. - Physical Therapy Near Me - Meriden, Connecticut

I was stuck in this place a year and a half!! It's just a warehouse... no care, no respect... you have to argue with the staff to be able to use the shower!! Don't even get me started on the'food'..... brussel sprouts were served daily and they were obviously left over day after day!... they couldn't even stand up under their own weight!! Powdered eggs cold food..... people being left yelling all night long because nobody would come and help them! I was lucky enough to have my own phone but they actively blocked the signal so that the internet wouldn't work!.... When I finally got out of there I deliberately watched my phone because I suspected what they were doing and what do you know... as soon as I exited the building and walked across the street all the bars and rainbows on my phone went up to full reception!... I was right, they were actively blocking it!... and don't let them tell you it's because of all the electronic equipment because the most modern equipment in the building is an exercise bike that was probably from the 60's!! I could go on and on about this place and every facet of its existence!..... I'm pretty sure it was conceived and created by nurse Rachet! Lol I have been out of there , living independently for a couple of years.... And I still have the occasional nightmare about that place! read more

Unfortunately I am currently in this facility while I type this review. DO NOT use this facility. DO NOT send anyone you care about here! I'm trying to leave as I type. I have been patient, understanding and tried working with staff to right all the wrongs done to me. There's not one professional here, I question their credentials. One Nurse Supervisor lied completely about a covid swab that he never did on me to get released from quarantine. I can't begin to wrap my head around the seriousness of doing that. I do not feel safe here. I am actually very concerned about my care, let alone my recovery. I get lied to daily. I had a SPIDER in my food!! I started recording any interactions I had for my safety since I witnessed abuse and neglect. I too was a victim. I reported it. I wrote grievances and nothing was done. Everyday got worse. I can't make up the crap that is happening here. Their own staff has admitted how awful it is here, told me to get out, they all agreed with how awfully I am treated. How unprofessional the staff is. How disgusting the food is. How unsanitary the building is. I didn't get a shower for an entire week- I had to ask several times to finally get one! My bed wasn't changed for over a week until again I begged for it to be done. My lunch and dinner orders are consistently incorrect. The cook at night is appalling- no hair net to keep his raunchy Afro away from the food- gloves he touches everything with- he's about 200lbs over weight and sweats all over everything. I wouldn't give my dog their food. The staff is verbally abusive, sending my PTSD through the roof- so much I ended in MidState ER for a panic attack!! Never once had one before never once had anxiety before. All their previous reviews with responses are accurate. The responses from silver springs are more lies. Staff admits the "5 Star" thing is a joke and they probably came up with it themselves or bribed someone. They're not even 1 Star. I have gotten worse since I got here. I said out loud once "I can't imagine what the residents that can't advocate for themselves go through, the ones who can't vocalize their concerns." And staff agreed with me that they suffer. One resident was screaming in pain and the aid Noris told her to shut up. SHUT UP!! I was appalled. She is one of the worst aids I've ever met. She's not allowed in my room bc she's so awful. I was yelled at for recording staff and was told I was violating HIPA which wether I was or not it's for my own protection. I wouldn't have to if these things weren't going on where I felt the need to do so. I suffered repercussion from aids after I first spoke to the "social worker (Julie)" she sent an email about the lack of care to me and boy oh boy did I get serious attitude n more neglect. Found out my insurance pays $1500- a day for this hell hole. All the staff have really nice new vehicles parked in their lot that I over look. While we get dog food for dinner. We have to buy our own snacks from THEIR REC department!! It's their own side hustle where they say we're not allowed to have toiletries brought to us we have to BUY them with our own money from them. Never in my life have I heard of that. I worked as a CNA and never heard of a facility doing that! Their policy for drop offs is wash, dry, sanitize and wait a week to bring your destroyed property to you. Claiming "I don't know". My parents had to buy me a second pair of sneakers bc they ruined the first brand new pair they brought. The administrator is suppose to reimburse my dad Well see Their response to this will be "inaccurate, no record of this, will look into..." all the same responses from other reviews and other false promises. They do it to your face too. The lies go all the way up the ladder. Why does a nurse "supervisor" LIE about a covid swab? The seriousness of that goes far beyond me staying in quarantine longer. If I got out like I was suppose to and went into the general population and I was in fact positive I could have infected all these people that are already suffering here. Don't go here!! read more
