Very cute spot! The food was yummy, but be prepared to wait. We came on a Saturday around 11:45AM and waited about 30+ minutes for our food. We didn't mind waiting because we weren't starving and there was also only one person working the kitchen. No big deal. The tater tots were soooo delicious. I'd definitely pick them as your side. We were riding through on a motorcycle trip and found this restaurant. Excellent food and our service was outstanding.

I was out for an extended motorcycle trip and happened to be heading through Mt. Vernon around lunch time. Their sign caught my eye so I stopped in. I'll tell you straight off that it was a great move on my part. The friendly waitress (Michelle) was just great and the food was too. I had the Spur burger that is a basic cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, & onion. The patty was large and the veggies were all crisp and fresh. It was served on a very fresh and tasty rustic type bun. This is one of, if the not the best burger I've ever had. You can get fries, tots or a salad with the burger and I elected to have the tots. They serve a huge portion perfectly cooked with no grease residue at all. Again, the best I have had. To top things off I saw that they make their own pies. As it turns out my waitress makes them. My choice this day was chocolate cream and fresh raspberry. Although the chocolate cream pie is huge and looks great I go for the raspberry as I am already pretty full. It was delicious. Perfect homemade crust giving support to the amazing raspberry filling. It was sweetened just right. I'm going to say it again. The best I've had. It is a good thing I live pretty far from this establishment as things might get a bit out of control for me if it were closer. If you are ever in the area (within 100 miles) I would highly suggest stopping by. An amazing find. read more

Love this place. I do believe they close early, about 2pm. I've eaten here so far as of now once, my husband twice. We just bought a ranch near Dayville and are sampling the area's eateries. This was the perfect stop for dinner after the final day of Cycle Oregon. The portions are more than generous! Even after riding 56 miles on our bikes today we had a hard time finishing our plates. The burgers are big 8 ounce patties. The tater tots and onion rings were excellent as well. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone passing through Eastern Oregon. read more

As soon as I walked in woman came stumbling and told us they were not serving food. As I looked around there were people eating. She claimed door was locked and kind of pushed us out of there like we were not welcome. Me being person of color must have been the reason. As I could see people were eating their food. Great burgers! The rodeo burger is possibly the biggest hamburger I've ever eaten, and so good. On one visit (of four) we went for breakfast and the growing pains of recently reopening showed a little, but our order was quickly corrected. Pleasant, simple decor and quick,friendly service. Let's start with the good: my eggs were cooked perfectly, bacon was, well it's bacon, it's delicious. The coffee was fine and the service was good. Now the disappointing: the sausage gravy was gelatinous and tasted mostly like flour. There needed to be more sausage and I'm pretty certain they used a corn starch slurry to thicken the gravy. That's unacceptable imo for a country cafe. read more

We stopped at the Silver Spur on a trip through eastern Oregon, and it was a lovely surprise. The portions were generous, the soup was a nice homemade beef and vegetable, and the mashed potatoes were made from scratch. Your average down home cafe. Burger was huge, they were out of fries so I had tator tots. My husband had an omelette which he said was decent, the sausage gravy was a bit odd. A good place to stop for a meal on the road. The hamburgers are huge. Breakfast is served until 11:00am. We arrived just after 11 and the waiter still took our breakfast order. Other folks coming in after us had the giant hamburgers. The pancakes were delicious and very large too. A good value for your meal dollars. read more

An oasis in the middle of nowhere. This place is fabulous. I was in the area for a bike tour and we stopped here twice it was so good. Whether its the huge blueberry pancakes, battered French fries, or hand made burgers--it was all good and showed the love. Even though its 700 miles from my house, I want to go back. Mother and daughter working hard to keep the customers happy. Good times! read more
