They are very competitive in price and on the last job, the stupid property manager had a mixup (long story) but Silverstar responded quickly and resolved the mixup within a day. Outstanding service from start to finish. Estimate appointment was timely and my questions were answered in a patient and professional manner. We found their estimate to be fair when compared to others we received and ultimately chose Silver Start Painting. We needed faux exterior shutters to be painted along with two interior doors. I was able to supply my own paint for the exterior shutters and Silver Star was able to match the paint for the doors with the trim color. The day of the job, I received a reminder 24 hours before and the crew arrived on time and got straight to carefully prepping and applied two coats of paint to the doors and shutters. I have found the Riverside county branch of Silver star painting to be unreliable in coming when scheduled. They cancelled SEVERAL times after I had arranged things and cancelled plans in order to accommodate them. Their quality of work was also poor. They had to come back and finish their job because they neglected to paint an entire wall and railings. They failed the HOA inspection. They AGAIN didn't come when expected, after I had kept a Saturday open for them. I was not notified they had cancelled late the night before, so I waited all morning. And after all of that, they did not make my job an priority, making me wait another 5 days and insisting on coming in a day when I said I could not be there. Beware before you hire! They will quote you a low price for paint material that you want (Dunn Edwards Suprema) agree on it but when the painters arrive they will bring a cheaper version (Dunn Edwards Spartan). The dispatched painters will quarrel and force you to go with what they bring to your place. Cite that they are experienced and will use it. They get grumpy when you see the work they do, I guess because they want to add water in the water based paint material. If you bring this unprofessional situation to their boss (owner) she won't listen to you and will get over grumpy and more unprofessional. Extremely bad Customer Service. Beware! If you still decide to hire them, Make sure you have everything in scope listed out, otherwise you will regret just as we did. read more

Had our entire inside of our house painted by Silver Star. first, their price was extremely competitive, however, below other estimates. I had seen their work from a neighbor who was also very pleased with their work so we decided to use Silver Star. they started the project a day earlier than planned which was great for us because we didn't stay in the house while the work was being done. we were so pleased with the excellent work they did. I'm very particular so I tried to actually find flaws in their work but couldn't find a single drip, smear or cut in that was wrong. the team leader on the crew also helped in the final decision on color which we appreciated. our house is 2600 sq ft with 10 and 20 foot ceilings, job finished in three days. They even patched some electrical box holes in the drywall, no charge. great crew, great , job. very pleased and highly recommend this company. read more

Poor quality and customer service. Entire 2 story house was painted in July of 2018 and paint is peeling off the door trim. The caulking they used in trim pieces is also separating, showing the white caulk (mind you, the trim is dark paint). Lastly, they painted over rotten wood I asked them to replace. They assured it was solid, now it's soaked and coming apart. Silver star came out today and wanted $600 to fix it. Look elsewhere, trust me. read more

Extraordinary work...Joon and his assistant had my house pressure washed, wrapped and done within 48 hours of the estimate. This is a two story tile roofed gabled home...so no easy task. Clean up was better than they found the outside and they included patch work and return of all of the outdoor lighting exactly as they found them. The price was excellent and at least half of two other estimates. Will use them for the inside as well. read more

3 Years ago we had Silver Star Painting out to paint our company building. After about 2 years the paint started fading and we called back to inspect. They sent out a representative from Sherwin Williams who took samples and tested the paint. They backed their product and Silver Star came back out to repaint the entire building. Well, they say you get what you pay for. They are certainly inexpensive, so that should tell you something. We hired them upon recommendation from a friend, but our experience was VERY different from hers. Maybe Orange County (where we are) uses a different crew? Johnny painted our home. He had more trouble getting coverage on the trim than he initially expected, putting him behind schedule. I don't know if he was in a rush to finish before the holiday weekend or what, but the work was shoddy. He missed several spots, it looked like he didn't even get a second coat in several areas. He dripped on trim and hardware, missed some spots on the trim completely, painted one of our windows closed, and in one area painted over old wallpaper scraps instead of removing them. It's fine as long as you don't actually look closely at our walls. We immediately requested someone come back out to finish/fix the job, and also requested a supervisor come check the work as well. We had marked several areas of concern but didn't mark everything because there were so many areas it was getting ridiculous. As far as we can tell a supervisor never came. They sent Johnny back and he only fixed the areas we had marked, not bothering to make sure the rest of the job was done well. We had specified that the kitchen and bathrooms should be semi-gloss finish but we didn't say/weren't asked about the rest of the house. We would have preferred eggshell but they used flat. Not a huge deal, but annoying and I would have expected them to ask our preference if there were any question. Overall the job is done and our house is painted, but I would certainly never recommend them or use them again. Edit - They called at 8:30 Saturday morning to make sure I had sent them a check. If they were half as worried about doing a good job as they were about getting paid we would probably be happy with the paint job!! read more

So with some hand gestures and their limited English I asked why they have not scrubbed all the old paint. They told me that it's ok and they will just caulk it. Well for a couple of month paint looked fine. Than after a rain season whole balcony started to peel. I called them. They came and did exactly the same. No scrubbing of old paint. Next year it happened again. On the third year... well you guessed it right! The only difference is that they tell me now that their warranty is over and I have not taking care of paint. Really? What should I do? Cover the whole house in plastic bag? Really DO NOT hire them!!! Even if they pay you!!! read more

We hired Silver Star Painting and they were schedule to come out 9/22/14 to do the job. They did not show up, we called, they did not call back. When we finally got a hold of them, they said they messed up and were out of town. We were told they would call us by 9/25 to reschedule, they did not. We finally reached them the next day and they told us to find someone else to do the job. We are now stuck with our furniture, clothes, window coverings all moved and no work being done.
