It's been nearly a month and still haven't heard a thing from Nathan or upper management. No apologies or "how can we fix your yard," etc. Silver Valley Propane lacks accountability, integrity and leadership! Do yourselves a HUGE favor folks and STAY AWAY! This company ought shut its doors for good! Well as you can see folks, this is how you get treated by a sub-standard company for speaking the truth. I've been a propane customer for 20 years and I really wish I had switched to Silver Valley years ago. The customer service is above and beyond any of their competitors and so far the prices are much more reasonable. if I could I would no stars. I was with Silver Valley Propane since I had moved here. this year I got a bill for a little over $100. I called to confirm the amount and was told by Shasta that was all that was owed, so I paid the bill. then I get a disconnect notice about a week later for an outstanding balance of over $300. I didnt budget for this. I called and again spoke to Shasta who then told me that the $100 was for the tank rental and the $300 was for the propane. I explained to her about calling to confirm in which she got a really bad attitude (more so than usual, she is rude and talks to people with an attitude) she told me that I had to pay the $300 before they would deliver. I spoke to her repeatedly and even asked to speak to a supervisor (I was never given that opportunity). I then sent my boyfriend down to the office with the money to pay the bill and to get our propane delivered.Shasta tells my boyfriend that she will accept the payment but we needed to pay $75 emergency delivery fee or wait until the next delivery date for the following month because our delivery day was the day before. now I had spoken to Shasta for two days prior trying to get everything rectified, and NEVER once did she mention any of this a $75 emergency delivery fee to me over the phone. so to sum this up, I was given incorrect billing information, I was talked to in a rude and unprofessional manner, not given proper information to make an informed decision, but also she tried to charge me for something that orginally not any fault of my own. I had the $75 but decided that I was not going to pay it. I told Silver Valley to come get their tank. Instead they come get the regulator (that I bought but didnt have the receipt for) and left the tank. then just last week after 6 months they finally come and get their tank. Way to go Silver Valley you lost a customer because of your rude,unknowledgeable , unprofessional staff that attempted to bully your customer. how many other customers have left because of something like this? you should really re-evaluate your staff. But on a good note your guys that came to pick up the tank we super sweet,nice and professional. Terrible customer service. They only allow a $200 fill up amount unless you are there to meet the driver and pay then and there for a full or half fill up. Seeing as how most people work when they have propane delivered then they only fill the $200 amount meaning you will run out of propane in which case then they will charge you a $75 dollar emergency fill amount and refill it a week later! So you once again are still left with no propane and charged extra to finally have relief a week later. This happened to me during a cold snowy week. They could care less when I told them I have a 4 and 8 year old. I pay the bill on time every month but they still wouldn't up my $200 fill amount. I can't stress enough what a terrible company this is. This isn't my first terrible experience with them but it will be my last. read more

As someone else said they only come out once a month if that and during the winter it burns through the gas quickly so you kinda have to fill it up to make it last you until the next time they come out otherwise it's 75$ emergency refill fee which is crazy to me considering my house is only 4 miles away from their building...spent 375$ 300 in gas and 75 for the fee and not even a 2 or 3 weeks later I'm about out and I had pre called a week after I had it filled and they said it'll be about a month until they can get out here. Well I'm just about out again and gonna need to spend that extra 75$ for them to drive 4 miles down the road... read more

I'm sick of this company ripping people off.especially the elderly. In may I requested an off route delivery for my 94 year old grandma. They said it would be a $75 off route fee which I had to pay over the phone before they'd put the order in. I paid it and they scheduled the delivery. When the gas guy came out he told my mom she would have to pay a $ 75 off route fee. She paid the driver not knowing I had already paid when I requested the delivery.also wanted to charge $50 to light the pilot for an old lady who's been a customer for over 8 years.On Thursday the delivery truck was less than a quarter mile from the house.Right when I saw him I called the office to ask for a delivery since they were in my area.the office lady said it would be a $75 charge.Even though it clearly states on their website that that fee is only imposed for off route delivery if the destination is more than 10 miles from the location of the truck at that time.the lady argued with me saying it's not fair to the other customers who paid the off route fee so I would have to pay it too regardless if they were right up the road from me. I told them to come get their tank. I'll find another company who appreciates their loyal customers. read more

We are new in the area, Got a card on our door for propane service, we called and we met the propane driver Armando. Very nice and welcoming guy! Very cordial polite professional giving us highlights of the area and the usage of propane since this is something new to us! We've been used to natural gas for the past 30 years and filling up a propane tank was way out of the norm for us. But thanks to Armando he reassured us and gave us tips and insight on how things function and how we should proceed in our usage in the future. Unlike the national chain companies, this business is owned and operated by local residents, and the difference in customer service is night and day, as are the prices! Let me start off by saying the manager there is pretty childish and immature. We were told by two drivers that they converted appliances over to propane and when the tech came out he said they don't do any front load dryers. Well that would have been helpful to know. So naturally i wanted to speak to the manager. After explaining to him that it would have been helpful if his employees would have told me this information i wouldn't have to wait another week. Well the manager didn't take to kind to my opinion and told me if i didn't like their service that they would just take their @$%$ shit and leave and i could find someone else. I head the commercial on the radio that their propane prices were so low that they couldn't announce them on the radio. When I called they were 66 cents higher than where I usually get my propane and five cents higher than U-haul on Lorene Dr., where I go on weekends and after hours. My husband and I lived separately prior to his death. After he passed away and I took back possession of our house I noticed a Silver Valley Propane tank rental. I contacted them in November and ask them how to have the tank reconnected, since they removed the regular. The office lady told me that it would be $105 cash or check to give to the driver at time of service. I asked if I could pay the money now over the phone and then schedule the service for another time at a later point. She told me that was not an option. I asked her if there would be any late fees incurred and she say no. I needed to secure the property before feeling comfortable having the gas connected, so I worked on getting the property fenced. I called today, February 6, to schedule connection service. I was told that it would now be $126 instead of $105 because there is a monthly finance charge for the bill not getting paid. The bill was due in November, the month that I called! Supposedly they sent a bill to that address where I have not lived for 20 years. I had no clue when the yearly rental was due, but she knew that it was due the same month but would not take the payment or let me know. She simply asked for my name and phone number, not if I lived at that address or anything. When I told her about her stating in November that there would be not late fees incurred she said that at that time it was not late. I specifically asked if there would be future late charges, not if there were already late charges. I call that a bait and switch at its finest! Since the tank still has gas in it I will have no choice but to go with them for the term but will take my business somewhere else in the future. This is a matter of dishonesty or half honesty. I was trying to call to get prices on propane. They would not tell me what their regular prices were. They would only say what the first fill up would be. The lady that answered the phone would only tell me what my first full would be. I was trying to ask what the regular price to fill a tank would be. She actually hung up on me. Stay Away!!! Worst customer service top to bottom that I've experienced. I have 12 years managing properties in the hi desert. The majority have propane. Decided to try a small company as opposed to the corporate companies we normally use. Terrible mistake. Ran into an issue immediately after the tank was installed. Called to inform them and was transferred to their technician, believe his name is Armando. He was rude and very defensive when I asked questions. I was told by a Home Inspector to watch them because they have been known to shortchange the amount of gas they fill. Tech was so defensive that red flags were raised. I called again for the same issue 3 weeks later. The same tech said he was picking up the tank. For some reason he didn't want the meter inspected so on his own he decided to pick it up. And yes I made numerous calls to customer service with no help. I was told many times a Manager would call me back but that never happened. Again the idea of supporting a small business over corporation sounds good until you run into a business like this one. read more

I was a customer for 1 year and 3 months. We were LATE 1 TIME and we will never use them again after that experience as the office personnel is disgusting and unprofessional, particularly Jamie - she said she was the owner. In a 4 day span it went from a phone call on a Monday (mind you I apologized as I was out of town for 3 weeks and I'd get it paid, I just forgot as we went from C.O.D. to regular credit, I was heading home the next day and I'd get it paid that friday)Well then two days later 2 guys came in a Silver Valley truck and threatened to lock us out of using the propane PER the office if not paid by Friday they'd have to come back Monday and lock it(this is Wednesday ok, I said it be paid Friday yet again I told the two guys) So no problem I called Friday morning for exact total so my husband could drop payment off on his way home and that we decided to switch after feeling a bit uncomfortable and upset with the way they do business. I got a call back from the owner Jamie within a few minutes of hanging up with another person, who called me a liar and then some (which then she said oh, I misunderstood I thought you spoke to my girl last week, which I didn't, it was only a few days prior - and still didn't apologize for calling me a liar)I was then threatened to pay that moment or they were coming that day, telling me to call my husband get his card number. That really mad me mad and we did have words..mind you I had till Monday but she said she could do whatever she wanted, simply because I was switching. My husband came home for lunch and we paid the final bill. Sad thing is she acted like she won and I paid but in reality it is really sad they lost a client and I will tell anyone I know don't give them a dime. AND Ferrell doesn't charge as much for rental, 1 year free on tank and lower rates so it was a blessing in disguise! Also when we bought this house we called to switch service in our name with these guys and since 5 gallons were left in the tank from previous owner they charged us. NOW I'm sure they invoiced and charged the previous owners. So double the money? How many people move and are C.O.D and pay upfront like we originally did and if they move...new people come in and get charged again?!#! Do your research as we didn't when we bought our home, save yourself the headache. And we do not owe these people a dime. Just an honest review of disgusting and poor customer service. read more

I know he didn't because I have someone living on the property who can vouch for that. They wait until the delivery is large and then stop by. Will never use them again. read more

Worst customer service I ever received from any company servicing the public. Had an appointment for propane delivery for noon time but driver was a no show. Had to call every hour and was told he's on his way. Driver Mario even left me message at 2pm to say he'll be at my place at 2.25pm and still no show. Waited till 4pm to call them again only to be told the office is closed!! I requested cancellation but instead got a call from Mario next day telling me I need to be at my house. After I told him I was out of town, he expressed surprise that I can't be there and said he had plenty of customers on his schedule anyways. When I called to complain about Mario to the supervisor, I got no apologies, only to be told that I was not promised any specific time and to make myself available next time!
