So I needed my car windows tinted on my 2010 Genesis Sedan. I've had this project open for a long time, as other things got in front of it. When I was ready, I started the project back up and wanted to see which vendors would respond, estimates, and offer at home service. I went with Silvers Glass Tinting. So the pros: 1. They were on time and prompt. 2. The two guys that came to my house to work on my care inside of my garage were friendly. 3. The tine job on all four car doors and back window was done. However, lets talk about my issues. The car had absolutely nothing wrong with it. Each window I had tested a couple of days prior when I washe the car. However, one of them called for me was I was working in my home office and stated something is wrong with my window. It was my rear passenger door window. I was upset but more in urgent mode as I couldn't go with my car window stuck open, as I was leaving town within a day. I had to use my own tools, my own glass suctions, etc to get my panel off so I could see what happened. Long story short, something jammed my window motor, as the metal pully cord appeared off hindge somehow. I ended up having to pull the motor, then jimmy the cable in a way that would keep the window up. I also did so, but allowing them to still tint that window. As a whole the tint job was okay. The few things I've noticed, is that my back window had a smudge that i knew needed a good cleanning rub, but figured they would do that when applying the tint. They didn't, so there is this smudge under the tint. I've also noticed some pin-hole air bubbles, one on my passenger front window and two small ones on my rear window driver's side. Lastly, I've made attempts to get a hardcopy receipt with their messaged warranty note stated on it, but I've never received one and have since given up. read more

Richard was very quick with responding with a quote estimate for my window tinting & was very communicative throughout the days following up for the service. He offers both carbon film & ceramic. I went ahead with the ceramic film. It also included a lifetime warranty. The window tinting included the side doors & back. To get my front done, it was a separate cost. The day of, one of his workers called me & asked me where he was able to do my tinting. I told him I had my car park behind the alley of our bungalow since I don't have a garage & the Main Street is very busy. He told me he had to notify his boss of the situation because there may be an issue with servicing my car in the alley. I then got a call from one of the managers telling me that they were not able to service my car in the alley due to fear of weather conditions etc. So instead, they had me go to one of their shops that they are contracted with in Van Nuys since that was the closest to me. I was very disappointed with that inconvenience since part of the reason why I picked this shop was because they were mobile. Nevertheless, I wanted my car tinted so I drove 15 minutes to bring my car. I brought my car around 9:30am & he was finished by 2:00pm. He did inform me it would take some time due to the fact that he had other cars he needed to service & he was the only one at the moment to finish up the cars. He showed me a few examples of other cars that were tinted & asked me what I would like. I went ahead with the limo tint which I found more appealing. After all was done the final project came out really nice. There are a few bubbles that I saw & still have after 3 days but he assured me that they will go away but if anything to contact them. They informed me to not put my window down or use the defroster for the next few days. The day after I noticed their were scratch marks by the driver side window (remind you, this is a brand new car). Again, I didn't want to make a fuss. Then, I noticed there was some bubbling on the driver side window, and I texted Jordan and agreed on a day at 9 AM. It was 8:55 AM, and I didn't receive any text or heads-up if they were coming. The Good: The finished product looks great. The Bad: Although the appointment was scheduled for noon, the Installer didnt call until 12:15pm to reschedule to 1:30pm. Right then I should've just canceled but said ok since I was already home. Still, the unprofessionalism did not go unnoticed. When he arrived, I was told my driveway was too narrow of a work area so I needed to reschedule or go to their garage. Luckily it wasnt too far away, but this obviously was a bigger inconvenience since I now had to stop what I was doing and change clothes to leave. If it isnt clear so far, I requested MOBILE installation. The Ugly: I was quoted $450 for MOBILE installation. When it came time to pay (only cash accepted), I gave the owner $460 and told he didnt have change? Really?! As difficult to believe between the 5 people there they couldnt scrap up $10 between them, then the least he couldve done is offered $440 for all the problems. But he didnt offer and I didnt ask since I was so fed up at that point. Regardless, lesson learned. We are so happy with the results of our single pane window tinting. We have these windows that are higher up and let so much sunlight and heat in that we got the greenhouse effect. After the 80% thermal rejection tinting was installed it made a huge difference in our patio. It blocked out a lot of the heat and only let in about 7% of sunlight in. Had an appointment set up for over a week. I have been preparing for this appointment waiting with anticipation for days. I get a call from their representative 15 minutes before the appointment asking me if the job is indoors or wether I have a garage. I explain I am ready and waiting for them. They then say they have an emergency and will be late one half hour. I text their boss alerting them their people are already begun a bad experience. He then says they need to reschedule something about an emergency. At this point, I am the client. I had a very expensive appointment set for days ahead. I took the day off to accommodate this crew, suddenly I am unreasonable and I need to accommodate them again.
