When you buy a used car, most dealerships will try to sell you a Lubrico Warranty. It's not cheap,…read moreand they make it sound like a great investment. However, be careful--when you actually need to use it, you may find that nothing is covered. They will find a reason to deny your claim, whether it's due to fine print in the contract or missing information they didn't disclose. Read the terms carefully before purchasing, or you might end up paying for a warranty that's useless when you need it most.

I recently bought a used BMW. After driving for about a month the check engine light came on. I had…read morebought a Lubrico Warranty that covers the engine and they sent me here as it was one of the repair places that I could go to for the warranty. I spoke to a gentleman and he told me to bring the car at 1:00 which I did. I called back at 5:00 and they said they are just getting my car in. I called back the following morning and the guy said that it appears to be sensors and that they had to order the parts but it could also be the thermostat but wouldn't be able to tell until the sensors were in. I understood that neither the sensors or the thermostat would be covered under the warranty as it wasn't an internal engine issue but I let them do the work as it was an approved Lubrico Service Center that worked on European Cars. I received a call at 5:30 and the man said we are just receiving the parts now and we are going to put them in. I will call when I am done. He calls back at 6:45 and says he is done and they close at 7:00. I said ok I will pick it up in the morning as I don't want people to stay late and wait for me to get there. I arrived at the place at 10:00 the following morning and I saw a guy and he said the sensors are put in but the engine light is still on. You have to call back and make another appointment for the thermostat and I got a $900 bill. One day later I took the car to my regular mechanic Duke Motors on Yonge St. He ran a diagnostic test on the car and said there are some sensor codes that came up and he would check. I asked him if the thermostat was ok and he said no code came up but he would check again. After further inspection it was discovered that 2 sensors that were used to repair the issue by Best Auto were cheap after market sensors and not BMW sensors and 2 Sensors were not changed. Furthermore there was no issue with the thermostat. Also there was a small wiring issue that had to be repaired and he changed the oil filter because of the nature of the job he had performed. After he had replaced the sensors with BMW sensors and replaced the sensors that were not replaced and did the work I just explained my bill came to $600. I showed him the $900 invoice and he said these sensors do not cost this much and the invoice was very hard to read as to what was ordered. Do not take your car to Best Auto on Enford Rd in Richmond Hill. Take it to Duke Motors. Lubrico will be notified as to what type of Service Center they have on their approved warranty list.

There seems to be a disconnect and miscommunication between sales and service. It is not up to the customer to send endless emails and receive a clear lack of customer service and misinformation between the dealership and Toyota Canada Credit. Toyota Town needs to stand behind what they sell and promote on their website.

Let me say that we are previous and current happy Toyota customers. Our family is as well. I…read morestopped into Toyota town actually trying to find out what the story was behind the Venza model. I was referred to a salesperson after a considerable wait. Felt as if I was passed on to the youngest. Geordy was a nice person but he eminated an attitude that is quite disturbing. The feeling is that we will not Dicker. We are Toyota! I left it that I would call Geordy about a particular model. I did, and then received a text from a sales development person soliciting questions. I called her. Not only did she have no answers, but had what I am referring to as the Toyota attitude. I told her I wanted to pay cash for a car and not have to be penalized for it. I beleive that unless one really has to, or it makes sense interest wise to do so, financing rolling stock is not the best move. She inferred Toyota was doing fine without my business. I suggested that because the company has been unable to "catch up" from covid does not necessarily make them a good company It seems the price of Toyotas are rising weekly. Toyota declared a 64 billion dollar profit for 2024 so maybe I am wrong, or maybe the company is fashioned after the DeBoers business model. Hold back production to demand higher prices. Either way I will not buy from Toyotatown and my advise for those customers waiting orders, look around. There are other good companies out there. In my opinion Toyota may not be trying to catch up, and it appears to be working for them at the customer's expense.
