I contacted this office on June 4 regarding dentures and implants for my father. Before scheduling a consultation, I requested general pricing ranges so I could determine whether the practice was a realistic option for our budget. I fully understand that exact treatment costs require an examination, but I repeatedly asked for even a broad estimate or typical price range. From the very beginning, Maria disregarded my stated communication preferences and avoided directly answering the pricing question. Rather than simply informing me that the office would not provide any pricing information without a consultation, I spent over a week trying to obtain a straightforward answer. What made this particularly frustrating is that several other dental offices in the area were transparent enough to provide general pricing ranges, allowing patients to make informed decisions before investing additional time and effort. Transparency matters when patients are considering significant dental procedures and expenses. Unfortunately, the lack of direct communication and repeated avoidance of a simple question left me questioning the transparency of this practice as a whole. The experience was frustrating enough that I removed this office from consideration and would not consider it for myself or my family in the future. Based on this experience, I believe the practice should reevaluate who serves as its first point of contact for prospective patients. Can you really enjoy a trip to the dentist? If you go and see Dr. Justin Stout at Simi Hills Dental, the answer is yes. From the moment you step inside and take in the fresh clean scent, the tasteful and color-coordinated decorations, and the beautiful artwork (some of which are Dr. Stout's own photographs from his travels), you can relax. You are in good hands.  The staff was friendly and saw to me promptly. I happen to have a very small mouth, and they used all the children's instruments on me during the x-rays so that I would be more comfortable. Both the dentist and his hygienist were friendly and it was a pleasure chatting with them before my cleaning; and to my great relief, they are the only ones I've been to who have not tried to engage me in conversation while I'm physically incapable of answering! The cleaning was efficient, and once again, personalized to my preference. I don't happen to like the water-pick method of cleaning, and he only used the old-fashioned tools on me.  Dr. Stout is a very nice man who believes in a natural approach with as little intervention as possible. As I am an extremely natural and healthy person, this is why I chose him. I take excellent care of my teeth, I eat well, and I wear my retainer every night. After telling Dr. Stout of my healthy habits, and after my examination, he told me if I keep them up, I will have my own teeth for the rest of my life. What a reassurance! He's not the type of dentist who will try to sell you on anything. He wants you to have clean and healthy teeth. Again, this is such a relief. Incidentally, I knew that my insurance didn't cover my visit to Dr. Stout but I chose him anyway. His rates are extremely affordable, and I was told it's because he doesn't want a price tag to stand in the way of people taking care of their teeth. What an incredibly decent man. read more

It had been a while since my last cleaning and after receiving a mailer with a promotion for X-rays, cleaning and an exam, I decided to make an appointment. They were very communicative prior to my arrival and once I walked into the very clean and nicely decorated office they made me feel welcomed. I was seated right away and after the fun times of a full set of X-rays out of the way, Dr. Stout took over and for the first time I can remember, the dentist did all the work. It was painless and he was very good at letting me know what was happening. My son was about to invest in Smile Direct, similar to Invisalign. I had him consult with Dr. Stout at Simi Hills Dental. Dr. Stout said he wasn't the best candidate for Invisalign since his teeth were small, and he wasn't sure how happy he would be happy with the results. He recommended Bio Clear instead. The results were AMAZING! My son feels so confident now and is so happy with the results. More then 5 stars! For 8 years, I lived with a eye sore of a black triangle. A horribly huge gap/hole that was just on the right side of my front teeth. It made me afraid to smile. I'd have to talk with my lips curled over my teeth. I once made the mistake of smiling too big, and captured in still image was this hole in my smile for the world to see. As the years went on, and I got older, other black triangles/gaps started to form in between my teeth. My smile went from bad to worse! Every few years, I'd do a google search for an answer. It ended up being a) Live with it. or b) Spend between 6-10k on veneers. The cost was so outside of my budget, that I thought I was going to have to live with these conditions for the rest of my life. Well. No more! They used this new procedure called Bioclear. I'm not exactly sure how it works, but they were somehow able to turn my 1/10 smile to a 9.5/10 movie star grade, Cheshire cat smile! All for 1/4 to 1/3 the price! Oh, it still wasn't cheap, but compared to the veneers, this was magic! The procedure was done in two sessions. The pain was minimal. The Dr. Stout at Simi Hills is an expert, an artist, a magician, and a freaking miracle worker! I am grateful and I cannot recommend this place enough! To show my appreciation, I am expressing my joy at the top of my lungs! So if you happen to find yourself inside their office. Please tell them that you read Trung's review. What could I NOT say about this group? Everyone is so sweet. They making going to the dentist enjoyable. The dentist is the most gentle one I've ever been to. I had always been told how horrible and painful root canals are. She made sure I was comfortable and I didn't feel a thing! She was also great for my 8 year old. Someone please tell me why a dental office has a "marketing staff" , WTF ? The short answer is to screw you. They will "pick pocket" everlasting dime from you. Doctor is nice and knowledgeable but the marketing staff is way over-the-top and needs to go. Did I mention they are way out of line with there pricing, don't get me started on the double billing practices or procedures that last way too long. Dr. Stouts was amazing! He is so sweet and answered all of my questions with patience! He genuinely cares about your teeth. He recommended me for a mouthguard (I grind my teeth at night) and gave a discount on it! He also gave me a referral for my wisdoms INSTEAD of saying go find another dentist on your own. He really took his time while cleaning my teeth, and it didn't hurt all! Seriously I've never had someone be that thorough and gentle! He's very comfortable to be around. I also LOVE the staff!
