I called a few Chiros in Simi and it was terrible customer service ! Luckily I found Dr. Shawn's office and from the beginning to the phone call to the end of my appointment I left very happy and satisfied with the work he did. It was my first time and the girls made me feel comfortable and checked in on me when I was getting a heating nerve session before my actual adjustment due to waking up with a stiff neck. Wow! Talk about rude and disrespectful. The owner Shawn DeCloedt is quite possibly the most rude, disrespectful jerk I've ever dealt with. I went here because my son is doing football with the Simi Valley Vikings. We were told a physical was $20 and the baseline test was $15, however a lot of people go to their doctors to save the $20. Currently money is extremely tight so that's exactly what we did. I made an appointment for 10am and went in. I was kicked out of the exam room, which I did not appreciate. I did not feel comfortable leaving my 7 year old in a room with someone I didn't know with the door shut and the blinds closed. When the exam was over I went to pay and was told three cost would be $35. I explained what I was told about the cost and the receptionist went to get Shawn, that's when the drama started. I argued with him for a solid 5 minutes. I explained to him what I was told and by who and he told me that he doesn't know who they are and he doesn't have the time nor care to contact them because he's too busy for that. Shawn did state that another person told him the same exact thing. I stood my ground and told him I budgeted for $15 and didn't have any more money to pay him that that. He continued to be arrogant, disrespectful and rude to me in front of my 7 year old. If you want a good chiropractor that will treat you with respect and won't rip you off, Simi Chiropractor Health Center is beyond amazing. She took the time to go over my x-rays and the condition of my back. She has been working very hard to get me pain free and even work on my migraines which I have had for over 40 years. Shawn is the bomb. He studies your history and positions in sports to cure your injury. I had a bad shoulder injury from throwing a cricket ball or a bad posture while working on my computer. Didn't know what was going on. There were no cricket injury pros in this part of the world when I got his recommendation from a hockey friend. Shawn studied my shoulder and did his magic in the first visit. Two more visits and he had me fixed to the point where it felt like nothing had happened. I love me some Dr. Shawn and his wonderful peoples that work with him. I've had back problems because of a silly, but serious accident that happened awhile ago. My back, especially my lower back (because of my accident) and shoulders (because that's where I carry all my stress) have given me issues. So let me begin by saying that Dr. Shawn was my first chiropractor. So when you start with someone/something really good and have no idea what the rest of the world holds out there... Well you know where this is going. So I was on a treatment with the Doc for about a year and a half. The area of my back that hurt just when you simply tapped it no longer suffered from that crazy pain. Yay! But then I decided--against my better judgement--to take a break; I was healed-ish! And because work was eating me alive and due to a personal tragedy, I didn't have time for myself. During this time I would come across random chiropractors that I dropped in on and EW no. No thank you for half-way adjusting my back; no thank you for giving me more pain than I came in with; no thank you for getting me to use weird contraptions--no, I don't stretch that way and that hella hurts; and nooooo thank you for trying to sell me on a bunch of random ish! Dr. Shawn gracefully took me back after disappearing for a year, but not without a li'l 'ol lecture and being teased about how I knew better :) And I did, I did know better! Dr. Shawn is my kinda doc. He and his staff are very pleasant, down to earth, accomodating and easy to speak with. This is a long one so buckle in, I was referred by a friend to doc Shawn, I am a veteran who has spinal compression damage, it took the VA hospital a year to let me get an MRI, and low and behold I have bulged discs from L3-S1 according to my reports posterior biggest being 3-4mm, I couldn't even drive without being in pain, I contacted doc Shawn and we talked a good bit told me come in, we talked and he explained some things to me and told me he can help, it'll take time, and getting cut open will just make things worse down the road, he wasn't the first guy to tell me that, anyway he helped me out since I was paying cash and was willing to work with me, he also stated that if I didn't do core training physical therapy anything he did wasn't gonna improve (this is the talkings of a good Chiro, who ain't a crook) I immediately sought the help of a injury trainer named Ernie at islands fitness. Anyway I started treatment with him beginning of dec, and it's currently feb 2 and my body has improved drastically, I went from not even being able to sleep, stand, or work, to being able t stand for a couple hours, and even speed walking on a treadmill! I won't lie while it isn't going to be the only sole thing that fixes you, since you have to put in the training work, with this foam roll stretching, extra vitamin intake, and core training at the gym it's almost there, I highly recommend this place; and the stimulation machine (looks like a car battery with a electric ring that sends a pulse works fucking wonders) like I said it was too the point I couldn't even stand or walk for 5 minutes when I first came in, now I'm moving around! Give them a try and talk to doc Shawn he's pretty straight forward and honest about things. He told me honestly the likely hood of me running marathon levels again probably won't happen (I'm ok with that too many injuries sustained in the armed forces) but I'll still be able to work out and enjoy my life, he explained that his priority is getting me healthy and athletic again, he can't promise that I'll be at that level again as every BODY is different and age is a factor etc etc. I really appreciated that over the proverbial no problem you'll be fucking yusain bolt of the la marathon... read more

Dr. Wollum is one of the best. Had severe pain in my legs as a result of having several bulging discs (one of them is 10mm), so I went to her for non-surgical spinal decompression. When I first went in standing or walking for any period of time caused me significant pain. A few weeks later and I'm almost pain-free. The office staff are all very nice and accommodating. In 2015 I was diagnosed with Ulcerative colitis and rheumatoid arthritis, I came to Dr. Shawn officially as a "hot mess express". 2018 I was 60 lbs heavier and in constant pain after trying every specialty doctor possible. Dr. Shawn is the first doctor in the last few years that took the time to listen and offer solutions, not just throw pills at it. I believe it's been 6 months since I started, and currently I am doing 5ks regularly, gym 5 times a week and down 30 lbs from my first appointment with him. He has my pain down to a minimum so I am able to take control of my health. He is the first medical professional to actually listen and offer help, testing and actual compassion since I was diagnosed. Not only Dr. Shawn, but his staff is so incredible! The Simi Valley Spine and Wellness group, Have been very professional in helping the Simi Valley Vikings this season. There was some miscommunication information which led to some confusion when it came to the Spine center performing our Physicals and Impact test. We told our parents that the cost for both was $35, and if you get your physicals at your private Dr then the cost would be $15, Than information was wrong and for that I am very sorry, Neither the Spine center nor the people affected by this are at fault, It was poor communication by me plain and simple, This has mushroomed into a battle of will's for no real good reason, The Simi Spine Center has committed to Donate the money back to the program and the parents are quite aware of that. I hope by posting this and accepting full responsibility that this can be put behind us, My biggest concern is that all parties are real good people and need to shake hands while moving forward. The way I see this unfortunate chain of events is one person felt like they were being taken advantage of and became angry while the other had no idea that we told people about the $15 charge. And reacted to the way he was being addressed, Again this entire thing could have and should have been avoided but there is still time to fix this.
