Beautifully designed pastries with authentic ingredients from the other side of the pond. Clean, and deliciously smelling like a bakery will make you want to try everything after the first bite. Customer service was top quality and I even got a small black tea free while I waited for my sandwitch. I would have eaten there but I had to drive back. Temperature was perfect and overall a great experience.

We had a birthday cake made at Simit and we'll definitely use them again! They were fantastic to work with, were so accommodating. Very reasonable pricing, and the final product was so so good!

A gem is what I can say about this spot. Ma and Pa owned Turkish bakery & they make their stuff from scratch & with LOVE. The owner was so nice & personable. The place is small & has a homey feel to it. Here are some items I've ordered. * Simit & egg- kind of looks like a bagel but doesn't taste like one. Nice crunch from the outside & soft on the inside. The sesame seeds had a good nuttiness to it. You also can't go wrong with an egg in the middle; it was cooked to perfection. 4.5/5 * Fruit Tart- light & not too sweet. Good tasting crust as well. 4.5/5 * Baklava- it was flaky & freshly made. The pistachio's was very good. However, it was so sweet. I recommend to just eat 2-3 of these. 4.2/5 * Nutella achma- it was my favorite. Glistening on the outside & fluffy & airy on the inside. The Nutella was rich & had the perfect amount of sweetness. 4.8/5 Overall, Simit & Poacha exceeded my expectations & I can't wait to come back & try some more pastries. Their 5 star reviews are not a fluke & I'm thinking of coming back next weekend lol. Tip: Their cakes are easy on the eyes. So if it's a special event like your birthday, you should come here & have them make it.

Seriously they never disappoint! Ordered the mozzarella soujouk and the spinach feta Pide. Chef's kiss! They were delicious! I genuinely recommend this place if you're eve in the mood for something lite. They also have other things that are heartier but these Pides were just perfect!

Small, quaint Turkish bakery that I've been meaning to try. The baker kindly explained the different type of breads to me that the simit is a harder dough and the poacha is a very soft almost milky bread. He even taught me how to reheat the simit so that it can be enjoyed properly as I took the bake goods home. The simit was delicious and reheating it in the pan gives it a good crisp on the bottom. I cracked an egg in the middle and dipped the bread in it. The poacha was super soft with melty Mozzarella. I didn't like the texture of the beef sausage simit as much, but I liked the spiced beef sausage flavors a lot. As for the desserts, it's not as expected. The exterior is a harder shell than expected and then it's stuffed for apples vs. Nutella. I loved both desserts, but the nutella was definitely a fav Will return to try more goods in the future!

Hole in the wall Turkish bakery. Homely and friendly owner who took the time to explain the menu to us. Bread was freshly baked and delicious. Perfect for a lunch spot or a morning breakfast.

Super happy with this gorgeous delicious cake.

I could not be more happy to write this review for S&P. Their creations are amazing!! I ordered my birthday cake on 3/28 after visiting for a quick lunch and subsequently seeing their beautiful, unique cakes on their FB page. I saw this awesome purple cake and went back in to place my order. The owners are kind and generous. I picked up my cake a few days later and it was even prettier than the pic. Beautifully decorated with fresh berries and a artistic modern frosting style (no crunchy frosting here!!). The inside was vanilla cake layered with fresh berries in a vanilla custard. Amazing flavour, not overly sweet. Everyone raved about the cake. I shared several pieces with the whole bar patio. I handed out a few of their business cards so I hope they get a call!! Thank you so much!

They came through for us when we were in a bind. The cake was beautifully made, and the taste matched.

I love Mom and Pop shops. It's a cute little place. I am a full supporter of small business. The breads are great. Soft. Great texture. Crust appropriate to each type. But I did not leave fully satisfied. Simit with eggs and salami. Love the simit. The bread was perfect. Sesame seeds really added that hint of aroma and taste. But the whole thing was really missing something. Maybe a spread to go with the bread. Maybe a jam. Maybe even olive paste. Not sure. It was great, but something small was missing that left an itch. Poacha with salami, mozzarella, jalapenos. This was something really close to a kolache. Prob my favorite. The jalapenos not spicy, but added a level of kick and acidity that was definitely needed. Maybe more salami would have been nice. Olive paste achma. Needed more olive paste. Bread was Soo delicious. But needed more olive paste. Overall, I loved it. But left an itch. Not fully fully satisfied.

Great introduction to Turkish baked goods right here in Houston. The best part was that everyone from the front to the back of kitchen were wearing masks. The guy at the counter was courteous and gave good suggestions on what to try. Hands down thr Simit (round sesame bread with sunny side egg in the middle) was the winner. The Poacha was scrumptious sammich made of softer bread like brioche and it's stuffed with meats and cheeses of your choice. The Achma are soft danish like bread goods with different fillings, and I must say the salami and soujuck (spicy sausage) filling was better than the spinach. Totally, recommend trying out this place if you are in the area

Alfajor (sorry I ate the rest before taking a photo)

First time here. We go often to eat at the place next door. Today I saw from the outside some desserts in there and waited after our meal to come in. Without any information about this place, I ordered the alfajores and WOW they were amazing!!! Definitely will be coming in more often. I don't know how I've never seen this place until today. But for real after looking at the comments, they are not wrong. Their desserts are SO GOOD

Left two Nutella Achma and spinach feta borek. Top right Soujouk mozzarella simit and su borek. And of course baklava on the top left

Thankfully, Mark was there and initially was told a 35 minute wait but seemed intent by quicker. Ambiance: 4/5 It was breakfast time so of course it was a busy time. For my visit, it was crowded but not to where you couldn't hear your table. Dress is casual, good for friends, solo, or pit stop. Service: 5/5 Our waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly. Since it was our first visit there, she gave us some background that it was a Pappa's owned restaurant and food is made from scratch. Food: 3/5 They offer mimosas and I was tempted to order, but was driving and it was 9AM so forewent that option. There are food options for every tastebud. Mark ordered the fried cheese sticks, they were one of the items that I found worthwhile to return for. I opted for the Waffle feast. It included a waffle, that I added pecans on top to, two strips of bacon, eggs your way and hash browns. To say that I needed to add salt and pepper to the eggs and hash browns because they tasted bland and flavorless was unfortunate. It also was served at room temperature, because it was made from scratch, would think it be warmer to hot. The waffle was savory and had good mix and topped with the pecans made it even better. If you're on this side of town and want a change up from the "other breakfast diners" DOT would be where I stop. Fast, friendly service. Depending the food you get, it gets the job done for some sustenance to hold you over when you're not sure when your next meal is because you'll be in Galveston for 7 hours riding a float in the Mardi Gras parade.

What I eventually found both surprised and delighted me, and Nate's gets a thumbs up overall. Pictures are deceiving as I thought the place would be larger but it's a tight fit for bigger groups. There are only a handful of tables but plenty of character. It's also a bit grimey, unsightly and even a tinge dodgey, which may be a deal breaker for others but is an immediate appeal to me. Two things immediately standout when it comes to the food: the portions and the prices are outstanding. The offerings are as no frills as the rest of the establishment. The other surprise was how much influence there was from Mexican cuisine. Hash browns were the goal, but chorizo and chilaquiles were the bonus. Another surprise? The hash browns weren't as crispy as I would have wanted. It's entirely plausible that I came on an off day, which happens. However everything else was on point as my chorizo skillet was absolutely dynamite, pancakes were fluffy and indulgent, breakfast tacos were outstanding, and my eggs were perfectly softly scrambled. Even the bacon and sausage patties were delicious, which is a tall order considering it's not likely made in house. Lastly, as someone who drinks cold water like it's a hobby (#1), I'm especially grateful for the massive 32 oz cup of water, which is perfect for someone who drinks like a camel. The staff is not the quickest but they are friendly. Spanish may go further with most and they're not the quickest when it comes to greeting folks or cleaning tables. The food is the star and consider paying in cash. ____________ (#1) I'm thirsty.
