Just stopped by here for coffee, but had to try one of their desserts. Even though they had 4 specials listed, they only had two available. We had the chocolava-wich, which was two scoops of gelato, one baklava, topped with hazelnuts and a dust of pistachio. It was very good. My Turkish coffee was also a pleasant surprise, and my friends cappuccino was perfect. The place is a buffet style restaurant connected to a small cafe with 24 seats and small tables, so perhaps not the best place for studying. There's also outdoor seating. Overall, the staff was friendly, the place was clean and the fare was excellent.

I'm really picky about my coffee because i'm a barista and i'm used to making my own. but this is actually really good and the coffee shop is super cute too. The girl who took my order and gave me my drink even said she'd remake it if it wasn't sweet enough. xtra xtra sweet caramel macchiato was what i got :)

We ordered a couple pieces of baklava, they were too sweet for wifey so I reluctantly (not) gnoshed both of them.

It was very exciting to try this ice cream spot and it did not disappoint. I was more creative than usual to try something new and it was perfect. The chain is headed by a three Michelin star chef Jordi Roca who is believed by some to be one of the best pastry chefs in the world. While this is not necessarily pastry, I wanted to see what he would do with desserts. When you first step in, there is definitely a childlike whimsy to the decor of the place. They have plenty of seats inside as well as outside. I was hoping to see unique flavors, but I did like the few flavors they did sample. Beyond the soft serve gelato, they do have coffee and few prepackaged sweets to buy. When you order, you do get the soft serve gelato with unlimited toppings, which I wish I knew that so I could better select the combination. I did get mango passionfruit (4,5/5) which was super smooth and creamy with the right amount of tartness from the passionfruit and sweetness from mango. The fruits and nuts I got to add were a nice combination. My favorite was the nutella drizzle on top... smooth with little crunchy pieces. My only complaint was the price... While I did enjoy it, I am not sure it was worth the cost... The service was pretty friendly. Located in the Uptown Park plaza, there was parking readily available when I went on a weekday, but could vary depending on how the plaza gets. Overall, Rocambolesc offers great soft serve gelato with unlimited toppings but may be reserved for a special occassion.

BEST gelato I've had in Houston!…read more There's a wide array of Asian-inspired flavors such as black sesame, taro, and Vietnamese coffee. They have lots of unique flavors I haven't seen anywhere else, such as goat cheese with sage oil and sea salt, and my personal favorite, SWEET CORN WITH RICOTTA! Be sure to sample it if it's in rotation, it tastes just like movie theater popcorn! The workers are very patient and accommodating, I probably asked for a sample of every flavor that was available! There's not too much seating, definitely more of a grab and go unless you have less than 6-7 people in your group! Note to the owner: If you see this, PLEASE put pandan, pandan coconut, or pandan matcha in rotation!

According to a sign in the store, the gelato is made in house, which is cool. There were lots of unique flavors and I should have taken a picture of the case, but alas I did not. They offered samples and Mark sampled the Lemon Pie (or a similar name) and loved it. He ordered two scoops - one lemon and one coffee. I tried both and WOW, the lemon was fantastic! I ordered one scoop of Tiramisu, which included alcohol. I almost passed on it because we don't drink, but I figured it couldn't be any stronger than 'near beer'. I'm glad I got the Tiramisu. It was delicious. I would never suspect there was alcohol in it. Because we would be heading home after, we decided to have a seat and eat it in the shop, which is very clean and cute. There are three two-seat tables in the shop (it's small), so be aware. There are a few tables out front. There's nothing not to like here. I want to try every flavor! It was absolutely delicious!
