I was induced on my due day, and it really made me so much more confident when I saw Dr. Leung right before the induction, and she showed up as soon as I got into active labor which was in the middle of the night! I really wouldn't be able to deliver the baby so smoothly and has a healthy baby without her help. Dr. Beair also very kind to me during the couple weeks when Dr. Leung was out of office. I appreciate that Nurse Nora was very kind and even remembered us from the appt prior and made a comment to see how I was holding up. She also did the same to other patients. You don't see that a lot. We met under emergency circumstances. I had called Dr.Jans office to see if they could see me right away because I was pregnant and bleeding heavily and informed them of a possible miscarriage. They were able to get me in right away. My other half and I were in absolute tears we knew our situation wasn't ideal. Dr. Jan's knowledge and ease and helping us get through this situation made me feel so at ease. Although I had to do an emergency D n C procedure I appreciated her professionalism and grace in how she was able to handle and control the situation. I was very nervous and through out the whole process she talked me through everything before she did it and most of all remained calm. I honestly feel like that day she saved me life. Her words of wisdom that day as well as on our follow up after really helped our grieving process. It gave us hope. Although my pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. I made the mistake of mentioning that I was interested in having a home birth and she told me that if this was the route I wanted to go I would have to let her know right away because she would no longer accept me as a patient. My entire pregnancy I received dual care through Dr Jan and my midwife. Ultimately, it was going to be baby that would decide where she would be born. On the day that my water broke, labor progressed quickly and smoothly and baby was born at home with neither Dr Jan or my midwife present. Everything just happened so quickly, thank the heavens. Dr Jan was never notified of my home birth and she tried to contact me the week of my due date, but as a first time mom being freshly postpartum she was not my main priority. I reached out to her office a couple of weeks later and left a message but no one ever returned my call. When trying to make a follow up appointment I called her office several times and left multiple messages, again never to be called back. Finally, I went down to her office thinking that I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. Upon entering, the waiting room was empty, and the receptionist was sitting behind the desk on her phone. She even mentioned seeing my messages but commented that she didn't return any calls yet. Dr Jan walked out briefly then went back to her office. The receptionist followed her then came back to say that Dr Jan said she would no longer accept me as a patient. Their reasoning was that I gave birth at home and didn't answer when they called.

It's so much more than just the basic medical tests. It's the "How are you feeling?" And focus on overall health and wellness without judgment that keeps me coming backs. She offers esthetic services too, which is super convenient. I've never had any of the aesthetic treatments and I love that she doesn't push anything, but it's nice to have the option and when I'm ready for those treatments, I'll definitely go to Dr Twu.

Since I've gotten transferred and in Dr. Ikehara's care it's been nothing but a smooth transition and thee best care I have ever received!! This is my third pregnancy and each pregnancy I've struggled with finding an OB that didn't treat me like an transaction or in & out patient. This is my first OBGYN that I'm truly happy with and even though this would be my last kid (my husband and I agrees, 3 is a lot) that he makes visits so easy going and the atmosphere is always happy it makes us want to have another one after this. Also, he doesn't make any visits or vaginal checks awkward. I've had female ob's and seen a few male ob's in the past but by far... Dr. Ikehara and his staff (Carleen) makes everything so comfortable and you can tell that they love what they do. Dr. answers all your questions throughly, gives you professional advice, and is clear with it all--like no run arounds just straightforward and I love that. With Dr. Beair, I felt so at ease from the very beginning. My first labor and delivery, I suffered many different, and at the time, unknown medical complications. So I was ridden with anxiety with my 2nd pregnancy. Dr. Benton Chun referred me to Dr. Beair after a successful frozen embryo transfer at IVF Hawaii, promising me that I would be in the Best hands. He was right. If you know anything about the seasoned Dr. Chun, you know he doesn't say this about just anyone. At the initial visit, it was clear she had studied my chart and already knew my history. I recall apologizing to her that I was a complicated case and she said, "Don't worry, TOGETHER we will make sure you and baby are healthy". From that visit on, she meticulously took care of me. Unlike other doctors I've worked with, she took the time to know me. I didn't feel like just a number in the office or feel like she was rushing in and out of the room. Her assessments were thorough and she found things early in my 2nd trimester so we were able to adjust/add medications, diet, and activity level. It was also around that time that I had a pregnancy scare and I had a small breakdown during a follow-up visit. I was able to see her compassionate side and feel empathy from her as she comforted me. Dr. Beair stayed true to what she said at the first visit. Together, we were able to better prepare for a healthy baby and delivery. With her expertise and knowledge, she guided me on this journey. She was able to prevent certain things from happening again and for the things that couldn't be prevented due to my health history, she had a clear plan on how to minimize the problems to make sure my baby and I were ultimately safe. When you do call them on the phone, it's a long holding time to get someone from the urology department. I called May 2026 to request a change in urologists since Dr. Lee was unresponsive and had an unreasonable rescheduling policy with Pali Momi imaging. They said they would get back to me with a "transfer of care" but they never did. They tried to get me to transfer to Castle urology, which is too far for me. I was told they are understaffed but THAT'S NOT MY PROBLEM. It's their problem, and Straub Pearlridge has made no attempt to resolve this. Don't bother to get a blood test at this clinic. Long wait times. I ended up leaving after waiting for 45 minutes. The clinic was packed with people who had the flu. Shortly afterwards, I caught the flu from waiting so long in a crowded, shared space with sick patients. Years back, I ran into the same problem with HPH Straub psychiatry department. I could only see a doctor once a month online for 10 minutes. Their talk therapists weren't taking new patients. 15-20 years ago, Straub was a decent system. But for certain specialists and clinics, they have gone downhill. I strongly suggest to avoid Straub Pearlridge, especially their urology department and for getting blood tests.
