Spicy salmon roll & BC roll

Second review and I keep coming back. One of the best bang for your buck sushi places in Etobicoke. Probably the best. This place is my go to and would recommend to anyone. HUGE rolls and a good price. Always leaving stuffed and the staff are super friendly

I suppose it could always be worse. A year ago this place was at least barely acceptable. Now it's just horrible. The wasabi was like dry play dough. The rolls were just oversized chopped ingredients mushed together. The rice was also mushy and off-white in color. The rolls were too large to even fit into the average person's mouth. Huge regrets. Just gross. Never again.

Ahhh!! How did I just discover this place?!?? It's a bit of a drive from me, but it was soooo worth it. Their party tray deals are out of this world. Got the 47pc maki tray for only $38 + tax... and let me tell some tips...... you get 5% discount when you pay cash, plus they have TUESDAY SPECIALS where you can get either pink dragon roll, karaage, spicy general tao chicken or sweet & sour chicken balls when your order is worth $35 (before tax) and above!!! Crazy deals!!! Maki rolls are H-U-G-E. Sushi were fresh!! I think I might just become one of their regulars now.

We had the Maki Party Tray B (Torched Salmon Lobster Roll(10pcs), Spicy Tuna Dragon Roll(10pcs), California Roll(9pcs), Yam n Avocado Roll(9pcs), Crunchy Spicy Salmon Roll(9pcs)) and it was definitely good value. There's an additional 5% discount for pick up orders paid by cash. The service was quick and efficient and they seem fairly busy on a Saturday evening. The rolls had lots of filling, but could have been rolled a bit tighter. Overall, would recommend!

Small sushi platter. Soft shell crab appetizer. Spring rolls.

Check out Simon Sushi if you're in the south Etobicoke area. Great quality sushi, at affordable prices, and amazing service! I usually do their lunch specials (those prices are good value for what you get). For this order, I missed the cutoff time for the lunch specials, so I ordered the small sushi platter, deep fried soft shell crab, and spring rolls...all this for under $30.... incredible! It was really filling for one person to finish it all...could probably have been shared between two people. i highly recommend!!!

Stumbled upon this place by accident after finding Dani sushi closed. As we entered the place, the owners got up from their chairs and seem pleased with some business as we were the only customers in the restaurant. Shortly after selecting a seat near the window, I gazed up to find a HUGE SPIDER WEB, rich with several weeks worth of bounty, hanging on display, asserting its dominance to fellow spiders that may come wondering around...thinking about this sent chills down my spine, but what's worse is that this battlefield of a home is currently empty. I decided not the tell my boyfriend (facing away from the corner of the wall, blissfully unaware) about this spiderweb in fear that he too, could lose his appetite, and ate the rest of the meal with the taste of spider web in my mouth. Now, the food: - miso soup $2: 2/5 instant miso soup reconstituted in scalding hot water, it's delicious and I love it, but not $2-a-bowl-delicious - tempura appetizer $8: 2/5 oily batter but the squash was yummy and sweet - green dragon $9, Toronto roll $8, dynamite roll $7: 2.5/5 everything tasted like mayo, I love mayo, but this is just too much mayo, the sushi rice was nicely textured and flavourful, avocado was fresh and ripe, but everything tasted like mayo

This was my first time ordering take out at Simon sushi and I must say it was much better than I expected. When I opened the takeaway box I was pleasantly surprised to see that the maki peices were much larger and there was so much fresh salmon in each peice. They were also very generous with their wasabi and ginger which was also a plus. I recommend ordering the spicy salmon maki and crunch spicy salmon roll, they were so affordable, delicious and filling. I will definitely be ordering my sushi here from now on.

Super fresh hand rolls!

Almost everyone in my neighbourhood (including me) loves Simon Sushi. Good portions, fresh food, nice variety, friendly service and good prices - simple as that! I've never had a bad experience. The orders are always accurate with the right amount of condiments and on time. 5 +++ stars!

Simon Sushi moved to Long Branch from Downtown (Spadina).

I'm so excited that Simon Sushi chose to relocate to Long Branch! Brought my kids for late lunch, we ordered a Veg Roll Set (for me), a miso soup, 2 steamed rice, 1 order of salmon sashimi, 3 orders of salmon sushi and an Asahi (beer for me!). My kids love fish, they inhaled everything in minutes, it was all very fresh and nicely presented. I absolutely loved the ginger dressing in my salad, so much flavour, definitely not the typical dressing that you're usually served at most sushi places, I'd love to order a bucket of it for my fridge so I can pour it on everything haha The service was fast and very pleasant, complimentary fresh fruit (cherries, plums and dragon fruit) at the end of our meal was a nice bonus! Looking forward to my next visit without the kids so I can sample more of their adult drinks :)

First off, I hardly ever write reviews, but just had to this time because Simon Sushi is amazing. The food is incredible, the value is outstanding and they are simply lovely people. Give them your business! We ordered the Tempura App, General Tao chicken, Large Sushi Set, and Shrimp teriyaki. $56 all in!!! Absolutely delicious, and had leftovers for our fam of 3.

Unfortunately wasn't able to get counter seating but we were still able to enjoy the food up close and the theatre from afar. I like how they have different menus, so we upgraded from the standard one to get one with wagyu and the other with sashimi. Standouts for me were: - Wagyu Sukiyaki: melt in your mouth wagyu, perfectly salty-sweet sukiyaki - Tuna Tartare: best mouthful of the night - Scallop: plump and juicy - Saba Noodle: the little shrimps added a nice texture - Yuzu Sorbet: refreshing end to the meal - Plum Wine: excellent companion to the meal Place is small but well laid out so you don't feel cramped. Service and prices are expectedly high. Master chef had a playful energy. Overall, can see why this place has set the omakase standard for years.

Etobicoke is a bit far away, but this place is worth it. Cannot emphasize enough how delicious everything was, and there were almost 20 courses so it definitely fills you up. Even the dessert was so good, cannot imagine how well the frozen blueberries and cheese go together! Chef Kaji is also very playful with our handrolls. Everyone was really nice as well.

After visiting a haunted house, Martino…read moreManor some friends and I decided to look for a place with small bites to fulfill our peckishness--standing in the cold for over an hour really encouraged hunger After looking on google we settled on heading to Nobuya and to our surprise it was a very cute shop. Known for their ramen (which we did not have as we had dinner previously, but we will definitely come back to try). Instead we feasted on small plates, Japanese poutine (which was not small but shareable), karage, matcha cheesecake and yatsuhashi. We got there after 9pm, at the time only one other table was occupied but it is only a 4 table shop so it is very quaint and personable. The Leafs game was on, a few Toronto team sports memorabilia donned the wall by the TV, a soccer jersey hung which gave it a bit more character ... I love the idea of being able to watch sports and snack on yummy delicious snacks. It is a great place to hang out and chat with friends, maybe even a date The dishes were great. We were happy, warm and full! On top of it all the chef had comr over to chat with us too, he introduced us to the yatsuhashi and we learned he has beem operating for 8 years. The name, Nobuya stands for his name and 'ya' means store. We cant wait to go back and try the ramen!
