"Smooth as Possible" First-Time Home-buying Experience I am a first-time home-buyer and I walked into the process feeling nervous and overwhelmed. Then, a colleague got me in contact with Doug Leoni. As a first time home buyer and of a new construction, my husband and I had a horrible experience with our first lender. Our credit is really good, so we got an excellent investment rate and the mortgage payment is low. He broke down the process of home buying to me, a first time buyer well, answered any questions I had in a quick timely manner, was available when emergency information was needed to turn in for offer letters on the weekends, answered questions even after the closing. We were referred to Simons and Leoni and SunTrust through our builder. We called both to compare rates, but SunTrust didnt give us the time of day. Through out the building process Jason and Tammy kept us current in the loan and were great to work with. In the end the builder missed our closing date not once or twice but 3 times. Tammy went above and beyond to work with the builder to pay our rate lock extension fees and coordinate the final appraisal so we didnt have to pay additional inspection fees because the builder did not meet their commitment deadlines.
