Ok, first the bad - we confirmed an appointment for Thursday morning but accidentally they seemed to have entered it on their calendar for Friday morning. When I got the reminder the day before I called them and explained what happened and they managed to find me a crew that came to my place only two hours after my original appointment. Little things get messed up - it's how the business deals with it that matters. Now the hood stuff. These guys were *amazing*. They got to parts of the window I didn't think were reachable. Reliable and great communication. We had the dreaded old double hung windows that while it is possible to open, you just know it's a full struggle workout. Simon's Window Cleaning team was on time, get the job done quickly (9 windows about 90 mins), and with great care! They went through my filthy windows multiple times (like 3 washes) to make sure it is sparkling clean! They worked with windows that are problematic (one of them both sides of the balance was broken on top of an AC unit) and was able to get it cleany. I should have taken before/after photos but the windows weren't the only thing these contractors accell in. Ultimately anyone can clean a window, after all. The end result was great but what really surprised me was the discretion of the cleaners, themselves. They were quiet, speedy and respectful house guests wearing putting on shoe booties before entering and were very careful moving furniture, and laying down towels in all areas that could be scratched of made messy. These guys are the BEST! Super easy to make an appointment (I just went to the website, and emailed them through the server - got a very quick reply). They gave me a 1 hour window and came on time. The whole thing took less than 30 minutes, and their rate was extremely reasonable. I have 2 floor to ceiling windows (1 in my living room and 1 in my bedroom) and they charged $140 for both of them. Both men were very polite and put towels all over the carpet to make sure my floor kept clean. They also put covers over their shoes. The whole process was very seamless and I will definitely be using them again. I cannot believe I waited 2 years to get my windows cleaned when it was this easy all along! Was quoted for a certain price per window, and confirmed a date/time. They asked me to send a sample COI, which I did. The morning before the appointment, I received an automated email confirming my appointment time, which was 6.5 hours later than agreed upon. I called, they said they had an issue with their systems, and the original time was not available. So I moved some things around, and accommodated. To help manage my schedule, I asked how long the job was, and they quoted 1.5 to 2 hours. They asked for a COI sample, which I had already sent, so sent again. That evening, they emailed me stating there was a prenegotiated price per window in my building, which was 3x the price quoted. I told them that I have two windows, which consist of seven panes, so if the 3x price is based on two windows, not seven, I'm fine to proceed. They said okay. The technicians arrive the day of, and I am told that the 3x fees are actually per pane. I asked why the price would all of a sudden be 3x, and they stated that the job would take so much longer, and the price justification was based on the time spent. I was told to call the supervisor, and upon calling, asked how long per pane, and they stated 20 minutes per pane. When I shared that seven panes at 20 minutes per pane was two hours and change, they confirmed. When I then asked why the originally quoted time was two hours at 1/3 the price, and was now 2:20 at 3x the fees, they backpedaled and started talking about how dirty windows much be (which ours weren't), how it probably was more than 20 minutes per pane. I got the managing supervisor on the line, and she said she'd give me 20% discount, which was still 2.5x times the originally quoted fees, so I apologized to the technicians for wasting their time, and sent them away. The technicians seemed nice / capable enough - super polite and professional. Unfortunately, their back office was the complete opposite. In summary: Simon's Window Cleaning is the quintessential example of "bait and switch". Changes times. Changes fees. Changes stories. read more

Just Terrific. I used this company back in July. I had used another local company in April, and it was awful. I had asked that company to come back and re-evaluate and adjust. They were remiss. In hindsight I'm glad, because I found Simon's. They were recommended by my Yorkville neighbor's website. Two wonderful professional men arrived, but before that I was sent their pictures. Only one tech was sent from the first company. My windows still look fantastic. I have huge windows and they are double-panned. They do not slide up and down, but from side to side. Each window has to be taken off its track to be cleaned. I will only use Simon's in the future. read more

I received a quote from Simon's based our history with them. It is the same apartment, same number of windows and when their crew arrived, the quote suddenly tripled. When I spoke with them, they informed me that the prior amounts were in error and we indeed needed to pay the new amount. I dismissed them on the spot. Pros: These guys did a very good job. My windows look a million times better than before. They were very thorough with the cleaning. Cons: They were a little late arriving (15 minutes after the one-hour time frame) and left some dirty water and dust on the floor. Cost: $15-20 per window plus extra for doing storm windows and screens. Accepted cash and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard and Discover). Not sure about checks. read more

I wrote a very negative review about my experience. Again the windows were very well cleaned. The team was on time but neglected to give me a quote that included cleaning the window frames as well as the glass. To me an essential part of the job. I received a phone call from the company offering to do the whole job over for what I had paid the first time and that they would not cash the check until they heard that I was satisfied. The person apologized for the misunderstanding and scheduled an appointment just a few days away at my convenience. I couldn't have asked for a better response. I will update after the service. And here is the update. The crew of two young men arrived in the time frame promised. The leader confirmed that they would do the frames. Yes , yes, of course. They went right to work. I went on with my own chores. When the leader called me over ...that the work was completed. I said yes, the inside frames were clean but not the outside? Seriously... Isn't the whole idea to have someone wash gthe windows better than you can do yourself? (I am on the first floor) He spoke to his partner and they went back to work. When he called me over again. I inspected the inside and outside of two windows and was satisfied. He said the next time the price will be $20 per glass window and extra ten dollars for the frames. As they were packing up my husband mentioned that it seemed to him that they missed the outside frame of one window. I assured him that I saw one of the men working on it, besides if not I didn't feel comfortable talking about it anymore. I tipped them $40. It was good enough but yes they did a poor job on one outside ( merely brushing the leaves off the sill and not wiping the dirt from the outside frame.) So yes, if you just want the glass of your windows washed..sparkly bright by dependable company, Simon's is for you. read more

These guys came and cleaned the windows in my apartment and in the process broke the vent stops/night guards on 3 of the 8 windows they cleaned. (This is what vent stops look like, open and closed... http://bit.ly/1KRcAeM... very easy to close.) They didn't just break them, they shattered them, by opening the windows to clean them without first pushing the vent stops in. Wouldn't professional window cleaners know that many windows have these security pieces and know to close them? I realized what was going on when I watched one of the guys jam the window down when he felt resistance from the open vent stop. When I confronted them about it, the guy denied he did it... even though there were shattered plastic pieces all over the floor. The windows were clean, but not worth the hassle and cost of having to get something fixed that wasn't broken before they arrived. Big thumbs down read more

They came in, put those blue shoe covers on their feet and with extreme care proceeded to clean my 23 Floor windows and balcony sliding doors. Meticulous...a spot on the window after cleaning, and the gentleman took his shoe covers off to step back on the balcony to clean that spot off and then back inside (shoe covers back on)! Simon's washes the windows of our apartment twice a year. They are like family at this point. They always arrive promptly and do an excellent and efficient job. They are respectful of our belongings and very careful to maneuver around art pieces we have near the windows. We are on the fifth floor and have oddly shaped windows that are not always easy to move. Our apartment is only 650 square feet. Despite these challenges, the two techs work quietly...you hardly know they are there and are gone in what seems like minutes .... leaving behind beautiful, crystal clean windows.
