We chose our seat at a table for two and were instructed on the process of tasting chocolates and wine. We met the owner of Brugge Chocolates and, of course, the Wine Geek himself, Bob Delf. Each came around multiple times throughout the tasting to see how we were doing and to discuss the varieties. Both were charming and very nice. The tastings came with $15 credits for any bottles we purchased that day as well as a nicely decorated box of 4 chocolate truffles per person. We ended up buying some great tasting wines - The 2018 Madrigal (a blend of 3 varieties) and a Rose. I have been to NW Cellars previously and LOVE the Malbec and bought a bottle at that time. This place is hidden in back of a strip mall in the Totem Lake area and is worth a visit. Bob is a nice person who makes his own wines and really loves what he does. Give this place a try!!

I didn't try anything I didn't like. They also have some fun sparkling and dessert wines. I feel like their offering was different from what I have tried before in the area. And I know I mentioned not to confuse it with the striped animal, but Zerba knows it's often mistakenly known as Zebra Cellars, which is why they poke fun at themselves and have a picture of a zebra on their bottles and photos in the tasting room. It made me like them even more. We found Zerba Cellars while in Woodinville, as it was featured in our Woodinville passport book. Located on the backside of a building with other wineries, it's a little hidden, but is worth finding. There is parking in the lot for the designated businesses in the building. Once we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the friendly staff. We walked over to the bar area where they were pouring wines and told us to take a seat, as they would come to us with the wines. We took a seat at one of the tables and instantly, one of the employees asked us if he could get a water bowl for our dog. It was very thoughtful, and I just love that they're dog-friendly, unlike the neighboring wineries. For the tastings, we tried five wines: one white, three reds and one dessert wine. I didn't much care for the first one, a chardonnay, but I've never been a fan of sweet wines, like chardonnay. However, the red wines were all solid. We tried the Wild Z, a blend, a zinfandel, and a petite verdot. Of the reds, I enjoyed the Wild Z, which reminded me of a black tea with plum notes. It had a pleasant sourness to it. But I absolutely loved the dessert wine, the New Harvest. It tasted like a port that's less sweet from the red wine. It was unique and different, and would recommend trying it! I enjoyed our visit at Zerba Cellars, and will certainly be back, most likely to purchase some bottles of the New Harvest. Occasionally an unexpected pleasure happens, and I question my extensive research and knowledge…read more Looking for a tasting in between our appointments at Novelty Hill and DeLille, Obelisco was closed, but around the corner in the same building was Zerba. So what the hay? Jimmy was in charge on this cloudy day of July 5th, 2021. He was helpful, fun, knowledgable, and entertaining. Perhaps it was his effect on the wines, but they were wonderful and approachable, yet with a surprising complexity. The 2018 Marilyn's Blend had depth, mellowed tannins, sophistication, almost like a Margaux. We all had a fantastic time and were sad to leave because of our appointment at DeLille. With Jimmy's help, we all purchased several bottles, and drove on to the corporate, but well run and elegant DeLille Tasting Room. Zerba Cellars is the antithesis to DeLille. It was like tasting wine in a friend's basement, quite different than the current template for tasting rooms. It was a refreshing change and Jimmy is a treasure.

I'm a Rosè lover and their unique varieties are to die for. They have an amazing sparkling Rosè that I can never get enough of. I also love how the owners are always in the tasting room and chatting up with everyone. Can we also talk about the labeling? So cute! These bottles look adorable in wine racks, but they usually don't last that long since they're so tasty. You need to check this place out! Can't wait for my next trip.

I went solo and sat at the bar. I loved that folks had left their marks on the counter, but was informed that it wouldn't last as the bar wasn't finished yet. She still gave me markers and told me to go for it if I wished (I did!). The wines were tasty and the pours generous. Just as I was thinking this would be a great place to set up my laptop and get some work done at a table, a multitude of folks showed up. Our wine Steward took excellent care of us and made us feel quite special, the Owner eventually showed up and was generous with her time. Not to mention I think we tasted seven wines in our flight, and bought a couple of bottles each. My current favorite from them is their 2017 Blacklisted Merlot. Super flavorful and berry like.

On this list, Betz Family Winery, on Woodinville-Redmond Road, was featured for its Pere de Famille Cabernet Sauvignon. It's been a while since my husband and I have purchased a bottle of really nice wine, so we decided to treat ourselves recently. The winery is a lovely place. Customer service was top-notch when we stopped by to get curbside pick-up for our Pere de Famille Cabernet Sauvignon - helpful, informative, and friendly. I enjoyed my glass of wine very much. The new wines were…read morephenomenal, I highly recommend the Pere de Famille - fantastic Cab heavy Bordeaux style wine. The tasting event was ran beautifully. Sommeliers we're available to answer questions despite the number of served guests. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Still my favorite winery in the Greater Seattle Area!
