I reserved three men with a 26 foot truck for our move. The movers were scheduled to arrive between 8-9 am on a Saturday. I received a call at 8am the day of the move saying that the moving truck wouldn't start and they were looking at different options to get us moved that day. We decided on a using a crew who were doing a morning move that would then come out to us between 12-3pm. Two men showed up about 4:50pm. They started out strong, but had been moving their first client since early morning. So, they quickly tired out and slowed down. One of them was on his phone for a while also while trying to load the truck, which was super productive. Loading the moving truck took them almost 3 hours and we were only moving furniture and appliances. No boxes or totes. Thankfully, our new house was only a half mile away. However, it took them almost 3 more hours to unload the truck. They didn't finish until 10:45 pm. There was also a considerable amount of damage done to the trim around the front door in our brand new home. Damage that has yet to repaired or even looked at by the company. No mention of a partial refund to help in the matter either. I have spoken several times with a very nice lady, Kathy, in their customer service department. Their manager, Tony, needs to learn to prioritize these types of customer issues though. My husband and I both have called multiple times with little to no resolution and very delayed returned calls. Bottom line, a move that should have taken 2-4 hours maximum with three men turned into a 6 hour move with two exhausted workers that ended up costing us over $1,100. Oh yes, that service fee was doubled because of how far west we live. Six hours, over $1,100, damage done, no resolution. I would not use this company again or recommend them to anyone. I had an amazing experience with Jada at simple moves. She was working with a sweet but dumb guy on a very difficult sofa move. She's a small person but was able to run him down like a freight train, and was savvy enough to keep him motivated through the move. I was so impressed, I reached out to the company to hire for my 15 room home move. It was a big ticket move that included storage ($6500 about). In my email I requested Jada as a lead. I felt like she'd keep things rolling and honor my particular needs. The email I received back from the company said that Jada might have an emergency and not be available. How odd. How could they predict an emergency? I'd have had respect if they'd have said that Jada is not seasoned enough, or whatever. I wrote back to say that nothing is going to happen to Jada. But, whatever guidelines you have, I'd like a quote. Crickets. I emailed them a couple more times, they continued to ghost me. Jada, if you are reading this, apply at Dodge-Mayflower. I'll write a reference letter. They did a great job on my move and seem to respect even their most lowly employees. read more

Simple Moves employees are incompetent and SLOW. I had a sofa bed listed on my estimate and the movers that showed up were ill-equipped to handle it. Instead of trying to lift it (as was done upon delivery of the piece) they attempted to get it into a 12" dolly and dragged it all over my front porch and yard in the process. They did not wrap it, messed up the plants/mulch, and it is now filthy. They were then unable to get it up the stairs at the new location, and my move is incomplete. Apparently they're promising to send a new team to handle it, which is an inconvenience given the work from home situation and the prep/cleanup work I do to keep my house clean in the middle of this outbreak. On top of all of this, they damaged my freshly painted walls and ceiling. Beyond the dirt, there are deep gouges that will need to be professionally fixed. This is beyond upsetting as a new homeowner. They moved absurdly slow, taking one small item per person at a snail's pace. Additionally, I was assured masks would be worn during the move, and they said it was "too hot." I understand it is not ideal, but I take the COVID situation seriously and it is upsetting that Simple Moves does not. My previous 2 experiences with the company were great, but after my move on 5/16/20 I will never use them again and do not recommend that anyone else does. read more

Very disappointed. Did a move with them after my parents had a good experience with them. The young men that showed up reeked of weed, laughing and joking and not paying attention to what they were doing, thus ended up bumping multiple things into walls (no damage caused, but still not professional). They were sliding my furniture on the floors of the truck, not picking things up, to move them, causing some wear issues on the feet of some of the furniture. One of them used my restroom and splashed piss everywhere. Then, to add insult to injury, they told me the final cost would be $385, and I only had $20's and they said they didn't have change, so I paid them $400 and called it a "tip". Turns out it was actually supposed to be $345, and I overpaid by $55. I've got them telling me it will be $385 on camera... Called multiple times asking for the difference back, have been told "the manager/owner will reach back out to you" but haven't received a phone call. Terrible experience, will never use these people again. Stay away! read more

Very professional and the guys took care to protect the carpet and furniture being moved. I hired a team of two for an internal move - - everything from the lower level up a 90 degree turn staircase to the garage in preparation for an out of state move. On December 20, 2022, my neighbors hired Simple Moves for a job. A little after 2:00 pm the crew unnecessarily drove their moving truck into my yard several times and then proceeded to back the truck into the driveway of the homeowners. This resulted in several deep tire tracks and a large section of lawn damage in my yard. At approximately 6:45 pm when the crew was preparing to depart, we started a conversation with the crew about the yard damage. We were greeted with lies, foul language and bullying-like behavior. After several minutes of discussion, the crew admitted to the damage and drove off without further damaging my yard. Despite several attempts to reach out to leadership at Simple Moves, no one has responded. If this company hires crews who damage other people's property, do you really want them moving yours? read more

Simple Moves offers flat rates for small jobs of one or two pieces. I'd gotten quotes for more than triple thus amount, despite the fact this was not a complicated job. Highly recommend. They were extremely slow, DIDN'T TAKE EVERYTHING because they brought a truck that was too small and extremely unprofessional (talked on the phone the whole time and asked... why did you move here? I really thought they'd be a wonderful option, and I tried to get some clarity by contacting the company before writing this review, but that did not happen. Overall the reviews looked great, and I had to move because the ceiling crashed in at my rented condo and insurance & landlords wouldn't cover moving, my deductible is high, and with having to move so quickly, I couldn't find enough help to move. My best option was to find an economical mover. I got several quote; College Hunks actually came out to look at my place for a free estimate. Both they and Simple Moves quoted me at 4 hours for about 850 square feet. Twenty boxes and every non-boxable items I had were in the estimate - including a large TV stand/fireplace that didn't move. Simple Moves quote was a bit cheaper so I went with them. Kathy was wonderful on the phone. She clarified that it's an estimate and made sure I knew that it could be longer or shorter, and they error on the side of caution just in case. Then I said it could/should be less if I moved as much as I could beforehand, and she said yes. When College Hunks saw it in person, they said the same thing, and that rep actually thought it would take 2-3 hours as their estimates are also typically on the high end. I figured if I moved boxes and everything smaller, it would take 2-3 hours. I have a small SUV and filled it up six times. Overall Simple Moves only moved seven boxes and the larger pieces of furniture, all of which were included in my original estimate (no surprises). The truck was only about 2/3 full, and when doing my estimate, Kathy was even mentioned they may need 2 trips. The guys were early and very friendly, and seemed sympathetic when my landlord was giving me some trouble. She wanted to know how long we'd be there, and the movers told me about an hour or less, after I'd walked through everything with them. I was happy. Instead, we were there for about three hours. They moved very slowly the whole time, and often times disappeared out at the truck, and I have no idea what they were doing. It took them too long to arrive where I was moving, my brother's. I waited to leave until they were in their truck, and I figured they'd be shortly behind me. I know a moving truck can't maneuver traffic as well as a car, but even allowing for that, they arrived about 20 minutes after I did. My brother (home watching his kids) even noted how slow they were going and felt like he should go help them. We honestly feel like they were taking their time since my quote was 4 hours. It took 4 hours and 15 minutes to move a lot less stuff than I'd been quoted for. While this is my first experience with movers, I've asked around and all have said the movers hustled. I called them after the guys left to share my frustration. Kathy was very sympathetic, but said the owners had already left, but they'd call me tomorrow - Thursday, December 20th. I didn't get that call, so I called again on Friday and left a message. Cornell, a manager I assume, and I exchanged messages for awhile until we spoke a few days after Christmas. He said those guys were some of the best, that they tracked their truck, etc. He didn't seem to understand, or care, what I was saying. He couldn't do anything but said he'd let the owner know, who would call me after they returned January 2nd. I have yet to receive that call again, so here we are. I understand supporting and believing your workers, and I think it's great that they do. But to disregard what I'm saying like I'm some kind of liar is ignorant to me and very poor customer service. I wish I had paid the little extra, which likely would have been less, and just gone with College Hunks, who probably would have hustled. read more

I needed to have some heavy items moved prior to closing on the sale of my condo. I booked a move on the website and was called by Cathy to reschedule as she was not aware that you could book a time on the website and that day was not available. 30 minutes before the scheduled time window, I received a call from Cathy to inform me that they were unable to make it and that they could not guarantee that the move could be completed at a later date either. Well it was horrible . The crew didn't pack my things properly or at all and Broke so many of my things! My glass dining room table is chipped around the Edge and I warned them Multiple times about It being glass and my 2 mirrored Night stand are destroyed And shattered. My bookcase with the glass doors was completely tore up and all the Doors ripped off of the shelving unit. Dishes where broken. Etc etc I could go on and on and have pictures to back it All up. Called Chris everyday and he Never Returns my calls. Horrible I expect a full refund bc my damage is more than what I paid the movers and give me My 90$ tip back and Fire All 3 Of the crew. Chris you must have Given this crew no training at all they set heavy boxes on plastic storage boxes and Completely bent and Ruined the Lids of the containers. For once in my life I actually hired professional movers and I am so glad I did! Simple Moves seriously made this last move so...simple! I called about a month before our move and made a reservation for 2 movers and a truck. The phone call was so easy and whoever it was I talked with explained the whole process to me. He had me list of the items I was going to move and I received a quote for the move. I went ahead and confirmed the day and time of my move and the deal was done. The day before the move I received a phone call from the office staff to confirm the move day and time. It was just that easy! On the day of the move I received a phone call from Greg (the driver) and he gave me an estimated time for their arrival (he and Willie were the 2 guys to help with my move). When the guys arrived I had them take a look at the alley to see if the truck could fit and sure enough it could! Greg took the truck for a quick drive down the alley and made it look so easy. He pulled the truck right up to the door to make the loading a little easier. Greg and Willie took a quick inventory of what I needed moved and got right to work-they worked fast and efficient. The two of them began wrapping our items with blankets and they even used plastic wrap to keep the blankets in place-this was something I had never seen before! Trip by trip they got out the items out of my place and into the truck and the whole time they made it look easy! Once the truck was loaded they followed us to our new place and began the unloading process. Again, they were quick and efficient with the items. Each item they carefully delivered to the correct room and they even helped to make sure larger items were in the correct place since I couldn't move some of the bigger items on my own. Greg and Willie worked really well together and they had such good attitudes while working. I provided the guys water often to keep them hydrated and made sure they knew they could rest if they needed to. They kept a good attitude and kept working until the job was done. All in all it took about 3 hours for the job from start to finish and the cost was actually less than I was quoted! They helped to save me money by working fast which I noticed and appreciated! Overall, I don't think I will ever do a move again on my own. Simple Moves is the way to go and I will definitely use them again the next time I am moving (which I hope isn't for a long time)! Probably one of the easiest moves I've ever had, my only gripe is the cost. I've moved too many times, internationally a couple times, as well, and I'm an efficient packer using mostly modular cardboard boxes and plastic lidded bins. This time, I just needed help to unpack a large PODs container that was parked on the curb outside me house, filled predominately with boxes and a few pieces of furniture. I'd done this before and two movers gets the job done with time to spare. Unfortunately, I needed them immediately! When I called, the woman I spoke with was very helpful and I was able to book workers when I needed them. On a clear and mostly comfortable moving day, because of a workers' family issue, they were late and showed up at 4:45 pm. Not great, as I didn't want to be unloading during rush hour (I'm near a busy street) nor with workers who weren't as fresh. Nonetheless, Nick and Brandon worked steadily and without complaint but unloading took 2-1/2 hours. They did not have a moving dolly, but luckily we did--that way they could move up to 4 boxes at a time. My cost gripe is the $125 truck charge we had to pay irrespective of the fact that a truck was not used at all, the business' policy--but the workers themselves were good. We tipped them with cash because moving is tough work. read more

I wish I had seen the other reviews before hearing a radio ad that made me feel this was a great company to go with to move my refrigerator across town. A nice staff person even called me twice in the week before I scheduled to try to earn my business. Unfortunatley the guys who came out -although also polite- did not have gloves or a masks on in the height of the pandemic and when I told that to the office they only said, "Well they DO have gloves and masks when they leave in the morning." But the worst was how the guys let my refigerator BANG down every step -it arrived at the other end with the door not closing properly. I fiiled out a report right away and NO CALL back. I then called a few days later to say it MAY have righted itself, but I would have to wait to see. Now NO CALLS from the company.
