Simple Pleasures is a family owned and operated business in downtown Lincoln. The atmosphere is wonderful and the people that are employed their are fantastic. Its a cute sandwich type shop in downtown Lincoln. Small, but clean, with friendly service. Certain days they stoke up the barbecue out back and make tri-tip and prime rib sandwiches for lunch. I ordered the prime rib sandwhich and it was good! I love a fresh BBQ and I have to say that the sandwich was tasty. My friends also enjoyed their meal as well! What draws me most to this resturant is the atmosphere. It is located near a community center. The whole City looks antiquish and western =) (unique). In addition, I happen to be eatting at the this resturant when they were holding a clay statue competition. I have to say that my vote went to Sponge Bob! A couple months ago my husband and I stopped by Simple Pleasures to have lunch. It had been a while and we wanted to try something different for a nice sit down lunch. Unfortunately, upon walking in we were ignored. One employee looked at us, then looked away not even acknowledging us. We waited a few minutes since all the front tables were full and were not aware if any in the back were available and thought we'd be greeted with a, "We'll be with you in a moment, or as soon as a table's available we'll get you seated, or something!", but no. We walked out disappointed and won't return. There are too many other lunch places in town that would love to have our business. EDITED review: It's been a while and we decided to give Simple Pleasures a second try. This time we were greeted promptly and our server was attentive our entire time. I cannot say enough good things about Simple Pleasures Catering. I originally contacted another catering company that my friends used for their wedding and needed to get a caterer confirmed in only about 2 months! Erica was wonderful to deal with; she was not only prompt with the initial contact and menu options, but got back to me quickly on a price quote for my event. The food was excellent, everyone commented how much they enjoyed it, but the service is really what put Simple Pleasures over the top! Erica and her team showed up a little earlier than expected but help finalize our setup and helped our event get organized which took a lot of weight off of my shoulders. Hired these folks for my wedding back in May. They did a great job and the food was delicious. We had a half regular, half vegan menu for our wedding and the guests (90% regular) enjoyed both. The one weird part was just that the caterer didn't bring appetizer plates/napkins and didn't bring coffee cups for after dinner. I guess we didn't ask in the beginning but seems strange that they didn't offer or inquire if we were providing them. But we made it through. Just make sure you know ALL your details ahead of time. But if you want delicious wedding food (and vegan!) then hire these guys. read more

Mixed reviews. Food 5 stars, service between a 3 & 3.5. Everyone was polite but very curt. Were not moving too fast. It could be that I am from the big city of Sacramento or it just happened to be a monday after a 4 day weekend. The prices were good, and food was more than worth it. I love simple pleasures! It is a cute little spot in Lincoln that makes a great lunch! All of their sandwiches are delicious. They come with a side of potato salad or green salad. I highly recommend their green salads. Most restaurants have very boring side salads but simple pleasures puts so many great items like sprouts and sunflower seeds on theirs. I love getting a black tea lemonade here because they serve them in huge mason jars and they have perfected the tea to lemonade ratio. Make sure to save room after lunch because they make delicious pie from scratch, served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream....yum! The only complaint I have is that they are not open on weekends (I'm assuming this is due to them catering events) which really limits the amount of times I can visit. read more

I worked with Diana at Simple Pleasures for our wedding catering and couldn't be happier with the outcome. Diana was great to work with, and her prices are beyond reasonable. Our food was mouth-watering good, with generous portions to boot. Diana also sourced many of the ingredients from local vendors and farms for us; something that was very important to us and quite a challenge in the winter months! Diana learned a traditional German recipe just for our wedding, as it is a bit of a family tradition and we really wanted to serve it for dessert. She didn't just copy the recipe, but went through multiple tries to get it just right. My picky German family was blown away and still talks about it. Diana even made a staple - Pawpa's favorite milk chocolate cake. My son had four slices! They managed the entire catering process for us, so we weren't worried about picking out linens or place settings as we were also trying to plan a service. Lunch and a show, well, sort of. Happy staff occasionally broke into song as we were the only customers in the back in between breakfast and lunch. Waitress was down home darling, sweet, fun, helpful, efficient. Food was superb. The wife doesn't really like pie but my Caramel Apple Nut pie ala mode won her over. Mouth watering! We booked Simple Pleasures for our wedding in September at our venue, Silt Wine Company in Clarksburg. The experience in working with Diana and Tina was great. They are so friendly and professional. They made the entire process from tasting to the day of the wedding so easy for us. They also can take care of all of your rental needs from lien, silverware, plating, drink ware, etc. We had a handful of folks that were vegan's at our wedding and they were so accommodating last minute which we appreciated so much. The food was also so AMAZING! The filet was one of the best I have had. We went with the street taco station for our cocktail hour and our guests raved about the tacos! When I was shopping around I compared costs and they were very competitive. I would highly recommend giving Simple Pleasures a shot if you are looking for a wedding food caterer or any catering needs. I recently lost my father, and my family and I wanted to plan a celebration of life. We decided on The Flower Farm in Loomis, and they recommended Diana with Simple Pleasures. My family and I are beyond grateful for that recommendation!!! Diana was absolutely AMAZING, and she took care of everything! She brought the food, center pieces, tablecloths, and an easel for us to display a large framed photo of my father. When we arrived at the location, everything was already set up for us, and it was beautiful! She had about 3-4 servers there with her, and they were very indiscreet when cleaning up after the guests. We barely even noticed them, but whenever we needed something, they were right there! The food was amazing, and the day was so beautiful because of them.
