Mike and Grant are really kind gentlemen. I was in California while my daughter was on an 800 mile drive from Denver to meet me. I received a call from her because she was concerned about the condition of her car. She was close to Glenwood Springs so I searched service centers and Simply Auto's good reviews I called them asking if they could look at her car if she came in. Although really busy they took the time to run a diagnostic and assure her ( and Dad) that her car was fine. And they checked her tire pressures before she left. Of course they didn't charge her. They used to be our go-to place, but recently they wanted $2200 to replace the CVT valve body (transmission part) on our forester. Based on friends recommendations we went to National Transmission on Hwy 6. Their price was $1550, using Subaru parts, no less. It's a little more work to shop around but, do it anyway. read more

The staff and mechanic team here went out of their way to expedite a major repair needed on my 20 year-old Honda CRV while I was driving through on a cross-country trip. from the great communication to the sleuthing needed to fix the problem to the loaning of a courtesy car overnight, everything went as smoothly as possible. This is the place in the aspen valley to go when you want it done right the first time . Preventive maintenance is the way to go. They are not greedy like a dealership trying to get you to do lots of extra work , in fact they advise the proper maintenance before it can turn into a problem. BEST PLACE IN GWS FOR Toyota, Lexus, Subaru, etc.! I used to use them 20 years ago when I lived there and had to use in an emergency! Same mechanics, prices, services, etc.! Wish they were in Denver! Wife had very odd engine overheating issue in Vail and had car towed here without knowing we used to use them. She I Did it off of reviews for places in GWS. They got her in same day as they knew we were traveling and an emergency. Funny enough a Toyota place in Denver for over 30 years had had issues figuring out check engine light problems on the transmission. This crew fixed the radiator and FOUND an Allen wrench left in a part of the transmission cooler that was creating TONS of issues. Previously places said to replace the transmission for $4-6k. They snapped a photo, only charged like $250 for a radiator fix, coolant and diagnosis. Done same day! Called me later to explain everything when I got back in cell service so we knew what happened. Awesome! We brought both our Toyotas in back to back and they did a great job on both of them. Our 4Runner drives like a new car (they replaced multiple bushings) and our truck is much better. Expensive but fair and honest, and you don't have to bring it back three times before they get it right. I took my truck to two other places, apparently they didn't bother to inspect the entire drive train or they might have found the worn u-joints. If they had taken the time to test drive it before and after they balanced the tires they'd have known they accomplished - nothing. I'm not one to complain or demand a refund, I just don't go back and I spread the word. I'll definitely be back to True! read more

I can't praise True (Riverside) Automotive enough! I was able to get an appointment quickly to troubleshoot an air conditioning problem. They conducted a thorough diagnostic on my car, also confirming my suspicion that my brakes need work. They found the problem and although the AC itself was not the issue, they topped off the refrigerant for me. I was treated with courtesy, professionalism and respect. At a different shop, I had my headlight replaced. Three trips back with no headlights, Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS) off, and then no instrument panel lighting. Julia -while training a new desk person - on a busy Monday morning- got me in and fixed. I had always taken my Honda to Riverside, and now my Lexus to TRUE for major work. We were traveling through from Texas and had suspension problems. The people at True Automotive were quick to offer help. They were busy, but found time to fix our car. They also offered to move our travel trailer to a safe spot and the GM visited to make sure we were taken care of. Here's a funny story; I purchased a 91 Toyota truck cheap, I knew it needed work, it came with a $2500 list of needed work from Bighorn Toyota. It started leaking oil badly so i took it in to Carbondale Car Care for an eval, They quoted $4000!!! for a whole list of things including pulling the engine, changing all the seals, a new water pump, power steering pump, timing chain and clutch pack. So I ended up taking it to Riverside imports in for an eval; they quoted $1500, it didn't need 3/4 of the items CCC listed. Riverside are Toyota specialists CCC are not, in fact CCC admitted to not even having the correct washer size to adjust the valves which Riverside does BTW. CCC did not really know what was going on with the leak and so just wanted to change every damn seal they could and whilst they were there change everything they could to be sure, and rightly so they said it would be a strong engine afterwards LOL :) Riverside were awesome, they had seen this before and knew what to do, even Rebecca at the desk said it didn't need a new timing chain and that was odd! Well now it runs like a dream, is leak free and tuned to perfection. If you have a Toyota go to Riverside, nuff said, they are busy so book ahead. Thank you for great work, I'll be back. read more
