Used them for our wedding at Brookside Gardens five weeks ago and we were very impressed. We sought out various caterers on wedding wire and they gave us the best deal for everything we needed. Did a tasting over a year in advance with my now wife and in-laws and then paid the deposit to lock the deal in. Ended up with a brunch menu that contained omlette and crepe stations, a yogurt bar, breakfast potatoes, fruit, vegetables, as well as a mixed pear and green salad. Our cocktail hour had avocado and spicy tuna sushi as well as bagels and lox. For drinks we had both mimosa and Bloody Mary options and 3 types of kosher wine for the toast. They also accommodated the kosher and other strict dietary needs of our guests. Nicole Ryan was our day of coordinator and she made sure our event ran smoothly and wonderfully. We were planning our event with Simply Fresh when they suddenly informed us that they now had limited availability and were going to have to charge us much more money. So, basically, they were contacted by someone running a larger event on the same day. Despite having told us they were available, they now needed to get rid of us so they could take on the more lucrative event. Understandable? Perhaps. Also not a great way to treat customers. We started working with Simply Fresh when we had to choose a new venue due to an unfortunate event at our original venue (4 months before our date!) The team was professional and so kind, as well as reassuring during the entire planning process. When our original day came, we unfortunately had to reschedule our reception because of COVID, and actually pushed it back a few more times. The team was extremely helpful during this time. A year later we finally had our big celebration! We literally had a last minute change to move the reception outdoors into a tent in order to accommodate a few more guests just a couple days before the reception and the team handled it AMAZINGLY. The day itself was absolutely perfect. The tent was beautiful, the food was amazing and everything went so smoothly. We asked Simply Fresh to turn our wedding cake into a gender reveal cake since we're expecting, and the cake was delicious! Lemon cake with cream cheese filling and buttercream on the outside. The guests had a great time and raved about the food, decorations, and beautiful tent. I wouldn't change a thing. Hillary is an absolute rockstar and made the whole process so easy. Simply Fresh catered our wedding. The food received lots of compliments. We must have hired them at the wrong time, they were very busy. We did not get a tasting before our special day. We spent so much time with our guests that we did not eat. We were looking forward to the leftovers, I even purchased containers to pack the food in. They took all the leftovers, not even a piece of bread was left! When was asked about it, they said they donated it. That would be fine if we authorized this, as we did pay for all the food, we were never asked. Also, we purchased all of our own alcohol and paid the $450 corking fee. They took all of the left-over wine, that we also purchased. My husband had a glass of red wine just before the caterers left and even pointed out how much wine was left-over! I work in a business that hosts many events and have never seen this happen. So sadly, I would not recommend Simply Fresh mostly due to customer service. read more

As I came to this review, I noticed that--as of this writing--Simply Fresh has a near-perfect Yelp score. I'm here to affirm that. We were under the unique circumstances of planning for a wedding reception party for close to three years thanks to covid. We finally had the event last month--set at Glen Echo Park in Montgomery County and then a brunch in our home the next day--and as a post-mortem I can't rave enough about this company. The entire process was flawless: tasting, contracts, communication, logistics/planning, execution. And perhaps the most common feedback theme I received from the guests during recap: we loved the catering. When we chose to have our wedding at Rocklands Farm, the owner connected us with the only catering/event company that they use, Simply Fresh Events. We contacted their team and the ball was easily rolling well in advance of our wedding day. We loved how Simply Fresh made it easy to customize and create a menu that fit our tastes and vision for our big day. We went back and forth a lot prior to the tasting, mostly because I was confused with how this was supposed to go, but my nerves were settled at the tasting when we went over everything line by line. We appreciated the flexibility of their team, we really liked how the chef sat down with us and took notes and was amenable to our feedback. In the end, we changed our entree and they even let us come back for a second tasting which we appreciated. Then the COVID-19 pandemic happened and we were back and forth on what to do. We appreciated Simply Fresh's understanding, advice, and flexibility. We ultimately decided to cut our event down to 14 people from the original guest list of 130, and they were gracious and still made us feel beyond special the day of. As a designer, I was a bit neurotic and specific in my planning process but the Simply Fresh team pulled off my vision and made it memorable and beyond what I could have imagined. They put as much thought and energy into our event of 14 people as they would have a larger event, and in the end we were so impressed with them - from planning, to food, to coordination, to their staff - we really felt like everything was handled and we could enjoy ourselves. They are true professionals that really know what they're doing. They pulled off our micro-wedding, guests raved about the food, and they even refunded us money we had overpaid since we cut the number of guests at our event. I can't emphasize enough how happy we are that we went with Simply Fresh Events to cater and coordinate our wedding. We first met Geoff while touring Rocklands Farm Winery, and while we didn't ultimately chose that venue for our wedding, we really liked Geoff for how straight-forward and honest he was during the tour. We scheduled our tasting and got to meet the rest of the team. The food was excellent and creative (we've gotten consistent feedback from our guests regarding flavor and the innovative menu), and we were introduced to Nicole who was our main POC for the next 10 months as our coordinator. Nicole was knowledgeable, honest, easy to get in touch with, and professional. As you can imagine, with the COVID pandemic throwing a curveball into our planning, this could have been a nightmare experience, but Simply Fresh was flexible and prepared to help guide us through the process while keeping our guests safety top of mind. They were prepared to present to us their suggestions for how to decrease touch points while still providing excellent food and service. For the day of the wedding, the staff was incredible and functioned like a well oiled machine with Nicole at the helm. I'm not sure how she could be in so many places at once, but Nicole always available throughout the night, and it was so nice to know that the timeline was being taken care of by such a capable team. We were truly able to enjoy our night without having to make sure the other vendors remained on schedule as Nicole and team took care of everything according to the timeline we had agreed to. While so many little things can go wrong during a wedding, I can honestly say that the night essentially went off without a hitch thanks to the Nicole's management and coordination with the other vendors and the venue. We are 100% planning on using Simply Fresh again for any of our catering needs in the future, and couldn't be more pleased with our experience. read more

We had a wonderful experience working with Jocelyn and Geoff with Simply Fresh Events. I could not say enough about how smooth Jocelyn made the day of the wedding. She and her staff set everything up PERFECTLY while I had to stop helping since my fiancé was outside. I entrusted in her and she did a great job. She kept everything on schedule and moved things along, paying attention to little details (when drinks were needed, appetisers in between photos, etc.). Costs definitely added up throughout our planning process, many little (and big) things left last minute which made it a little stressful. Simply Fresh was able to help us with all of our setup, tents, tables, linens, etc. which made it easy but it was pricey. We opted to pay for our own alcohol which we would do again but dealing with one vendor made it easy. They provided help throughout almost every aspect of our wedding- decor, rehearsal, etc. Thankful for Simply Fresh! read more

I don't even know where to begin with the amazing crew at Simply Fresh. From the beginning Jocelyn, Nicole, Geoff were spectacular. I was shocked by our tasting, we got large portions and even a doggy bag to take home! I walked thru the reception on our wedding day and it looked like a total dream. We ended up upgrading our chairs to the Chivari, which was the best decision we could have possibly made. Our wedding guests are still raving about the food. Our cocktail hour had beef and chicken empanadas, grilled cheese with tomato soup, bruschetta bar, and crab cakes. Our main dinner was prime rib, grilled chicken breasts, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, and vegetables. We did it buffet style and we had plenty of food for people to get large plates or seconds! We did pie instead of cake and the pies were phenomenal. My wife and I hired Simply Fresh to cater our wedding, which was originally scheduled for 2020 but was postponed to 2021 due to COVID. From the time that we walked in for our first tasting, we found them to be very accommodating, responsive, and easy to work with, especially during the chaos and uncertainty of COVID. We originally contracted with them just to provide dinner and drinks, but later expanded our contract to include full wedding planning - set up, flowers, the works (our wedding planner, Hillary, was incredible at ushering us through the process, including helping us with many details that we would might not have thought of ourselves). Even on the day of, when some uncertain weather looked like it might complicate things, they were flexible and helpful with last minute changes that were needed. The final event was fantastic. We used Simply Fresh Events for our wedding on 17 June 2016 of about 100 people at Oxon Hill Manor, MD. From right after we hired them, they helped us organize, were there to answer questions, and provided invaluable advice on how to make our day even more special. On the day of the event, they arrived on time, quickly set up the location, making all the details perfect. After we arrived they had one person who constantly checked up on my wife and I all afternoon and evening. We felt like royalty! Again they gave us advice and kept us organized throughout the night. If there was something that needed a last minute change, no one could have noticed. They set up our favor table with even more detail than I had. The food was delicious and all our guests raved on how good it was. The bartenders kept the guests very happy with their service. Couldn't be more happy with their service.
