Who would have thought a year later we would still be uncomfortable dining indoors. There's been a few silver linings during this pandemic and Mr. Hibachi Catering is one of them because hibachi in the comfort of our own garage was way more fun than any past dinners at Ron of Japan. We kept it covid safe and invited just my sister-in-law and her family. 4 of us adults and our 5 kids ranging in ages from 3-10 years old. It was so delicious and so fun for the kids that my sister-in-law and I have decided Mr. Hibachi Catering will be our go to for every future holiday. Passover with Mr. Hibachi! Thanksgiving with Mr. Hibachi! Basically we're up for any excuse to hire Mr. Hibachi! We learned that there's actually 4 Mr. Hibachis and the one who came to our house (with his trusty sidekick) was not only an amazing cook, but also had lots of fun tricks to entertain the kids. We ordered everything from chicken to lobster to shrimp to steak...and it was all so tasty! I considered adding a sushi boat to our order, but held off...which was a good call since it was a ton of food. They bring everything: food, tables, plates, silverware etc. All we had to supply was beverages and guests...and (of course) bday cake. It's also super easy to book online and they respond very fast to all email inquiries. It's been 3 days and my kids and husband have mentioned at least a dozen times about how much fun the bday dinner was...thank you Mr. Hibachi! They had given us so much that we figured we would hire an in home chef to cook them a spectacular meal. My sister found Chef Rogers online and we got very lucky. Immediately upon our first conversation Chef Rogers was dropped into exactly what we were looking for, how we wanted things to be, and the quality of the meal that we were looking for. So let's talk about the quality. THE FOOD WAS INCREDIBLE. The meal consisted of tuna carpaccio (AMAZING), burrata (did not try), 45 day aged steak (so excellent) with whipped celery root (INCREDIBLE), and then a butter cake with macerated berries (HEAVENLY). It would be one thing if Chef Rodgers was an incredible chef... which he is but to really be so accommodating about the menu and just such an unbelievably nice guy is why you hire him. I found them on a Google search trying to find somewhere that would accommodate vegan options, as I (and several of my guests) are plant -based. I was thrilled reading reviews from others experience with Chef Ravi and The Chic Chef Team and decided to reach out. Their website is every easy to navigate and their food options were exactly what we were looking for. They were so accommodating while I started the planning process 100% remotely while living in California, and experienced some delays with the pandemic era. We had to scale down quite a bit from our original plan, make necessary adjustments and they were able to reconfigure our menu and options to fit our final needs. The email communication and assurance Chic Chef provided to my groom and I was excellent, and eased our minds while having to delay and rest assured being able to utilize Chic Chef after postponing. As soon as we had the tasting, we booked with Chic Chef immediately and didn't even try any other caterers it was that good. They met with my venue to do a final walk through a few weeks before the wedding. Day of, everything was executed flawlessly. The food was SO good. From the passed appetizers, salad, bread options, and entrees- everything was amazing. We got so many compliments from our guests raving that it was the best food they ever had at a wedding.
