I signed up through Apple for a $129 battery service for my older Macbook Air. Through the Apple website it allowed me to choose mailing it to Apple or make an appointment at an authorized service center- Simply Mac. When I arrived at Simply Mac, they demanded a mandatory $79 "diagnostic fee" that was not necessary because the Macbook Air was telling me it was a battery service issue. Then Simply Mac told me their battery service was $180, not $129. I reluctantly agreed since I was already there. Then they said it would take 2 to 3 weeks. I realized Simply Mac was just charging me extra to send my Mac to Apple. Not happy with Simply Mac's "extra" unnecessary charges and lack of ability to do a simple battery change onsite. read more

We're an Apple family, for over 20 years. Having access to such a resource as Simply Mac in East Cobb has been a lifesaver. They fixed my cell phone, which crashed. They warranty replaced not just my Macbook Pro keyboard under a recall, but because it was hard connected to the battery, I got a new battery!, Now they are working on my wife's Mac. Worst experience ever. Made an appointment on the Apple site for a battery replacement. I live 20+ miles away, so I called the Simply Mac store to confirm, and I had to wait over 20 min to talk with someone. The person on the phone seemed bothered to talk with me and was very short. I confirmed the following: 1) the appointment 2) time to complete 3) battery availability for my phone 4) price, since other reviews stated they tried to change once they arrived After fighting rush hour traffic through the city, they said they haven't had the battery in days. Employees were too high to show empathy for driving an hour and a half through traffic or to provide solutions. You wasted my time and money! read more

Learn from my (almost) mistake, and avoid over-paying for unnecessary repairs!: My Apple MacBook Air died on me. Totally unresponsive. The Apple website sent me here. Brought it in and was told it would be $70 to perform a "Diagnostic". In almost anyone's vocabulary, that would mean they take it apart, determine which part was broken, and let you know what it will cost to repair that part. Instead, when I call to check on my repair, the guy on the phone says "It won't turn on". Well, no kidding genius. He goes on to say that he'll have to "Send it to Apple to further diagnose the issue and they would provide a cost". Ok, so what did I just pay you $70 for again? Anyways, I tell him to send it to Apple. The guy calls me back 2 hours later and says: "Apple told me it would be about $500". Wait, what?! How did Apple diagnose my machine over the phone? Did they guy figure out the issue, and tell Apple? Nope. Read on. I look on EBay and various other places and figure out I can buy the exact same machine used for about $300-400. So, I decide to not do the repair and go to pick up my machine. I argue that I just paid $70 so they would tell me what I already know, then call Apple - which I could have done myself in the first place. They assure me that the tech took apart my machine and diagnosed the issue as being a "bad logic board". Ok - if you did that then I'll pay the fee. I leave with my unresponsive machine. I decide to try repairing it myself. First, I had to buy a $7 set of special screwdrivers off Amazon to get the case open (Apple doesn't like non-Apple people opening "their" hardware I guess). I open up the case and don't see anything immediately wrong. After plugging in the charger a few seconds, I notice a burning smell coming from a small circuit board where the power cord connects. After a few tries searching keywords, I find the same piece for sale on Amazon for $20. I decide to go for it. Long story short, I replace the board in about 30 minutes and the machine starts right up. Woohoo! Just saved myself $500! But now I'm really ticked about my $70. What was all this talk about performing a "Diagnostic" and determining it was the "Logic board"? It certainly wasn't the Logic Board that was broken. I just proved that! What was this $500 repair they were going to perform for no good reason? I head back in. Via talking to 3-4 different store employees, I'm told the following: - Apple does not allow the store, an "authorized retailer" to sell or use repair parts. Apple has a lockdown on those items. It must be shipped to Apple for the repair. The only exceptions are basic items like a charger. - Apple themselves does not "diagnose" and repair individual parts. For hardware issues, you pretty much have 2 options: A new screen (if it's broken), or a whole new rebuilt computer with everything replaced (a "refurb"). So, if the two things above are true, why would Simply Mac bother to "Diagnose" anything? After all, they can't really DO anything about it were they to find something. The result is always the same - they send it to Apple for either a new screen or a new "everything else" (or they sell you a charger). Well, one store employee told me that they "Diagnose" it so they can check for "dents from falls" or "water damage". But wouldn't I know if I dropped it in the bathtub? Why would you need to check for those things? Just ask me! One reason might be that those just happen to be things that Apple doesn't cover for warrantied repairs. In other words, it's a service for Apple! - not for you - but you pay the bill! In the end, Deanna refused to give me my money back - even though she really couldn't explain what service had been performed that would earn that money. On top of all this, the kid with the curly red hair tried to sell me their extended warranty about 4 times during this whole process. Nice try kid. It takes guts to try and sell a customer who is feeling ripped off something that's traditionally an even bigger rip off. Get out of that store and you might have a bright future ahead of you. My advise: Go to a non-authorized Apple repair store. Those stores aren't constrained to the same rules as an "Apple Authorized Retailer" and can actually repair it themselves in-house. Or, try to fix it yourself. If that fails, you can always take it to Apple for the same big-$$ repair. At least you tried. But, if you need an "Apple Concierge" to help you put it in a box and ship it, that's something Simple Mac CAN actually help you with. It will cost you $70. read more

I'm writing this review to describe the end of my frustration with Simply Mac. Like many other reviewers I have shopped here for many years as PeachMac. That has come to an end due to my recent experience and after reading all the reviews of late that parallel my experience. My story: I took my iPhone 6+ in because it was dead due to another repair shops error. I paid $348.74 and was told I would receive a new 6+ that would not have the original problem of the screen freezing. The newer 6+ has been redesigned to fix this issue. The order says, "No Power, customer would like whole unit replacement." In hind sight, the word "new" is missing! So I get my phone on April 20, 2017. Works fine for four months then problem starts again with the screen freezing. I go to the Simply Mac store and the manager says it is out of warranty. Warranty is three months! Only thing you can do it call Apple. So I call Apple and they say it is out of warranty you need to talk to Simply Mac. I was able to determine from Apple that my "new" phone was in fact refurbished. No one at Simply Mac ever said that I was getting a refurbished phone because that would have been a deal breaker. I was reluctant to even get another 6+ until I was assured that the new 6+ did not have this problem. I was lied to from the beginning! The two reasons to not do business here are the screwy business relationship between Apple and Simply Mac and the lack of customer care by Simply Mac itself. read more

I came here because my trackpad wasn't working on my MacBook. The technician spent about 2 min looking at my device before telling me it was going to cost $450 dollars. Shocked I told him I needed to get a second opinion and took it to an actual Apple store(where they ran a diagnostic test,helped me update my system and charged me $0 dollars). Very confused with the negative feed?? I'll been going here for a few years, always found the staff to be professional and knowledgeable. Recent interacted with Gino and Devonte, both excellent employees.. no hard sales, just honest feedback..I just purchased a new MacBook Pro, traded in my old laptop and got better price than Apple quoted. Now please note; you may have to wait, this is quite normal for a small store like this, they don't have the staff capacity of your regular apple store. Horrible customer service. Their employee sold me a case for the iPad Air 1, not the 2. Asked him 3 times if he was sure it would fit, promised it would, and of course it didn't fit. Then, they would not let me return it. The packaging on the case was torn, hope this store closes soon. Following up: I emailed the address as requested, no one replied to my email. For Macbook repairs, I HIGHLY suggest that you go to the Apple Store and not through this place or at least take your computer to both places and compare estimates. I took my computer in for an estimate and the guy told me it would cost about $160 to replace the battery (with no check-in/labor fee) but the track pad would probably need to be replaced and that would bump the cost up to $340 including labor and a standard check-in fee of $69. I already knew something was fishy because the Apple store online lists a battery for my computer for $129. I made an appointment at the Genius Bar and they took a look at my computer and told me that the issues with the track pad were related to software and they would repair that for free. Also, they said they would replace the battery for $129 with no check-in or labor fee. They did mention that the track pad would cost about $40 to replace, so even if they had to do the replacement, the cost including labor would be much less than what PeachMac quoted me. I saved myself $211 by going to the Apple Store. Definitely compare quotes before handing over the initial $69 (which you won't pay at the Apple Store) and whatever else over to the PeachMac people. I gave the store a second star because it seems like there are plenty of accessories that you can pop in and grab if you don't have time to get to the mall. read more

Needed to get some accessories for my iPhone and didn't want to travel all the way to an Apple Store. The PeachMac is fully stocked with Apple equipment and helpful staff but is nowhere near as crowded as an Apple Store. They had everything I needed in stock and I could get in and out quickly. At this location in the Avenue in East Cobb you can park almost right up to the store instead of navigating through a crowded mall where most of the Apple stores are located. I didn't need any support, so I can't speak to the quality of their support staff, but as far as equipment, hours, and location, this is a great option for Apple fans. read more

Found this location as it was suggested by Apple and they had a same day appt availability, I called and spoke to Henry who helped me verify I have the Apple plus care plan so that I did not have to pay full price on my screen repair before driving out. Came by and Henry helped me again and was very professional and kind. Had my phone ready and fixed in less than an hour. The AirPods were faulty, and I brought them in for an exchange. I am a recent proselyte from Windows after growing weary of working around problems Microsoft should have fixed. The staff is responsive and helpful, and they worked with me on getting files over from my Windows laptop (the Migration Assistant did not work, but it was worth the $99 I paid the techie to do it properly). I think I got a good deal on a certified late model MacBook Pro - so far so good after a couple of months. Also bought 3 hours of training and have used one of them to good effect. Took 2.5 days to get a response. Which I had to call for. I was misquoted on pricing. Then they had the wrong notes on what to do with my computer. They do not answer their phone. Took our Macbook Air in that was DOA, no power. Took a bit to troubleshoot and was told it was the board. Was going to cost $600 to replace. We had no problem with that or the week to get it repaired. Got a call a week later that it was ready and it was cheaper by a little over $200, BONUS! We came in to pick it up and the guy was no help at all. No explanation, no talking, no this is what they did, no check it out to see if it works, no warranty info, no anything and no customer service at all. We had to ask for everything! He just wanted us to check out and leave. After we asked questions he seemed like we were such a pain in the ass and answered with as few words as possible. NO HELP! With this type of customer service you can go find other customers because we will stick to the Apple store from now on. read more

Went in the store to get iPhones 8s. They didn't have them and I asked the employee to call me when they came in. I then called a few times over the next month and left messages asking for a call back when they were in. I never got a response. I was in the avenues and really wanted to believe they were customer friendly, but when I Went in to ask if they had them, they did, but the buy one get one offer just expired. I let them know I was not pleased with their lack of response. They were just very rude to me and insisted I was wrong - they always respond. Horrible customer service. I have a 2013 15" Macbook Pro that is out of warranty and needs a new battery. I called asking if I could purchase a new battery and have them install it. The only option they have is to check in my computer for multiple days while they wait for the battery to arrive. I expressed that we need the computer for business and would not be able to check it in. However, I was willing to pay for the battery and service upfront, leaving them with no risk. Once the battery arrived, I would bring them the computer to do the replacement. If I showed up, they would have a customer. If I never showed up, they would have my money and a battery for the next guy. JP (the store manager, he claimed) refused to give me his last name or the information of anyone above him. I know from many years of dealing with computers in their various and sundry forms that 'stuff happens'... Repairs are done, bench tested and sent out of the shop... and something else fails. I never blame the auto mechanic when my car breaks either. These guys called me and emailed me, told me what they knew, and followed thru. If you have a Mac, and it's not the type of repair the Apple Store itself is going to do, then you want a certified repair center. Basically, if you already suspect what is wrong with your phone or device, save yourself the "testing fee" and try to come up with a solution on your own. That was the extent of what I learned from my "appointment". Oh, and that while they say they accept credit cards, they do not accept swipe cards. Only chip or Apple Pay. So, I had to have my son drive to an ATM to take out the cash to pay for the useless testing fee. In summary: 1) Apple needs to make better products 2) Apple needs to make sure their "licensed providers" can actually provide customer SERVICE. read more

My iPhone that replaced the original one I had kept making this weird clicking noise every time I compressed the screen so I called Apple Support. They said I needed to go into an Apple Store and the most likely scenario would be to have my iPhone screen replaced if not the entire phone. However, my 3 month warranty ended two days prior so I would have to pay out of pocket if my warranty wasn't extended. This happened the week of Christmas so there were no available appointments at an actual Apple Store. So then I called Simply Mac to see if they would be able to replace my phone for free even though the warranty just expired. They informed me that I would need to have a customer satisfaction code placed on my account that would extend my warranty. I called Apple Support again and the Simply Mac employee was right about the CS code. I got the warranty extension and Simply Mac assured me they had a replacement phone waiting for me. 40 minutes of driving in traffic later, I arrived at the Simply Mac store only for them to tell me that the issue was due to my glass protector on my screen. That was absolutely not the issue but I took it off to demonstrate to them that the clicking noise was still very much a problem. They then said "Oh hey, the noise is less noticeable now" even though it wasn't.. and the issue still persisted regardless of how noticeable it was to them. AND THEN, they said that they wouldn't be able to replace it anyway because it's a "cosmetic issue" which apparently is beyond their purview. I didn't really understand why it was a cosmetic issue anyhow because the noise was probably due to the screen not being flush to the hardware which Apple Support told me could eventually cause hardware issues. Also, when I voiced my concern that this is an actual issue that other iPhones have had, they said they've never heard of this issue before and that it's not an iPhone issue.........which is bogus since my original iPhone had this issue and if you just Google the problem OTHER PEOPLE HAVE THIS ISSUE TOOO!!! So I was pretty mad since I only drove the 40 min to this store because I was reassured that they would be able to take care of the issue when I was on the phone with them. If they knew they wouldn't be able to take care of this kind of "cosmetic issue" then why couldn't they kindly let me know on the phone..........? Anyway, I went to the Apple Store today and they replaced my phone with no issue. read more

Not sure how it could be worse. Short Story - do yourself a favor and go to Northpoint Apple store and talk to someone who knows what the hell is going on! I have an iMac that gave me a "bad memory" error, and Apple Support told me to take it in for repair. Long story longer, it took 2 weeks for Simply Mac to get it right. They didn't bother telling me that the service team was out for vacation, so they missed their commitment to have it ready 4+ times. They don't seem to communicate with each other, so I had completely different things being told to me depending on who I spoke with. The actual technicians were pretty good, especially Erin, but the Store Manager is an idiot. I went to the store at least 6 times over the course of this clusterfuck, and every time the Manager didn't seem to know or care who I was, didn't know the status of my repair, he didn't know jack. It was like starting over every damn time. He is lazy, arrogant, & unprofessional - it's hard to believe how he is even employed. . I saw people bring computer in and taking them out, and it never seemed to even occur to him or anyone else, that holding the door open for the customers carrying large items might be helpful. I overheard one of the salesman telling an elderly lady that she needed to buy a access point because it would make her internet speed 100x faster. She was smart enough to challenge him on it, and he started babbling about how this new unit works "like a laser beam." It was painful to watch. If you rely on a family computer for kids homework, family browsing, etc; do yourself a big favor and avoid Simply Mac. read more

I had to wait 10 minutes to be helped even though the two other employees weren't doing anything. When I had problems with my MacBook Pro they wanted a check in fee of $69 which was complete bs. And all they did was tell me that I needed a new hard drive (no work done on their part). They wanted I think $300 to replace that after already guzzling me out of $69. If you're looking for computer repairs DO NOT GO THERE. The apple store will run diagnostics and find out the problem for free, and once it comes to paying for the parts, it will be a fraction of the cost if you go to actual apple store instead of going to peachmac. To add, they didn't even bother asking if I had apple care. My iPhone was malfunctioning after the last update. The guys at Tmobile could not fix it so they said to try Simply Mac. I walked in the door and explained that my phone was malfunctioning. Without touching my phone, I was told that I must pay $20. When I explained that the phone was under warranty, they said that was the way it worked.
