I'm new to tanning (UV or spray tanning), but wanted to get rid of some tan lines for my wedding. After trying a spray tan elsewhere and having a lot of anxiety about it looking splotchy or rubbing off on my dress, I decided to try UV tanning. I was still nervous though, so I gave Simply Sun a call. Alicia at the front desk was incredibly patient and knowledgeable. She spent about a half hour on the phone with me listening to my concerns and what I wanted, and walking me through the various options. I still had some pre-wedding nerves, so I even stopped in once before even getting a tan - she again patiently walked me through the options and helped me come up with a plan. She was also conscious of budget which was nice. They offer a "happy hour" on Mondays-Wednesday mornings / afternoons where you can BOGO another happy hour tan if you pay in cash. I (of course) forgot cash the day of, and she kindly still let me get the tan and bring cash the next day. The place itself has nice tanning rooms with an emphasis on sanitizing between each guest. It felt clean and was never overly crowded when I was there. While I don't have any experience to compare to, I felt really comfortable and like I got a lot of specialized attention. My tan came out great - just enough to even my tan lines for my wedding dress without looking too dark or bronzed (per my request). read more

I'm new to tanning, so when I called in to ask literally a million questions about the different bed options, prices, etc., the owner herself answered all of my questions. She's so sweet! The facility itself is nice and clean and quiet, and she has so many bed options! She took the time to walk me thru how to use the tanning bed and showed me what all the different buttons did. I love that they have the Diamond bed with options like AC, water spritzers, mp3 hookups, and face/shoulder tanners. Oh boy - where to start? I've had a draft membership here for the last five months and have been nothing less than satisfied with every spray tan. For the first part of my membership, I was bartending at a golf club and needed the extra color to look less washed out. Going with the medium color + pH pre treatment was always the right move. My color would last 4-5 days even with showers and having the flexibility to pop in whenever to touch up was amazing. I would be surprised to find out there was a better deal on spray tanning in Atlanta than this place. The draft option is really the only affordable way to stay tan in the city (without getting an actual tan - yawn). The staff has always been very friendly and knowledgeable- always ready to answer questions. Sometimes they have their dogs with them, which just adds to the charm. Lastly, but definitely of importance, this place is CLEAN! You'd think that would be a given, but it's not, and it's nice to subscribe to a membership that is consistent in quality, service, and cleanliness. I'm about to put my membership on hold for a few months due to traveling for a new job. They offer this at $5/month and it's very worth it. I highly recommend this business!! read more

This place is fine. It was clean and the staff was fine. I went in for a spray tan and I got a spray tan so I'm satisfied. The reason for 3 stars is because the pricing was very annoying. They nickel and dime you for additional charges. For example, I was asked if I wanted clear tanning spray or tinted spray. These options are standard at every place that offers versa. I always choose clear because I don't want to risk the color one staining my clothes. This place charges you an extra $3 if you choose clear. No place has ever charged me extra for my choice between tinted or clear spray. There were several other up-charged options as well. If you are good with receiving minimum service options for the same price you pay for full service options at other salons, then this place is perfectly fine. read more

I came in here with a Groupon and I had the BEST experience! It was the first time I've ever used any kind of sunless tanning. I wanted a spray tan/base tan for vacation. The woman (wish I could remember her name!!!) at the front was a wealth of knowledge and information. She didn't put her nose up at me for being so very pale and obviously new to the game of sunless tanners. She was LOVELY! Didn't pressure me into upgrading, but gave me some very good recommendations, many of which I took because it felt like she cared about me as a customer and a person. She walked me through the process herself, just to make sure I didn't make a Friends Ross-level mistake. :) The rooms were very clean-- something I feel like they take a lot of pride in, and the building itself seemed very well kept. I am not a total spray tan noob, but it's been a decade since I've been spray tanning consistently. The machine is a little fancier now and I liked the process, but I did find it difficult to get an even coat of color. My arms definitely had different shades on them. The reason I won't be going back though is because I'm not a huge fan of the color of the tan. It definitely leaned more on the orange side than I preferred. I had a slight reaction to the spray itself, as well, and I've never reacted to any type of topical substance before. I wish that blending cream gave you more out at a time- I had to push for more over and over too many times since I believe a very generous amount of blending cream is key to hands and feet that don't look diseased. I purchased a three spray tan package from Groupon and used my first tan today. The staff member was super friendly, the place was super clean, and it just had a great vibe. I don't do spray tanning often, but nonetheless this was hand down the best experience. I upgraded to the medium tan package for 15 bucks (5 dollars a session) after having a conversation about how long the light tan would last, but I never felt pressured to upgrade at all! I enjoyed my first tan here yesterday, and I loved it! The gentleman at the front desk was very efficient and helpful. I came in with a clear idea of what I wanted. I wanted to try one month unlimited diamond level before my Thanksgiving day beach trip. and he didn't try to push me towards an ongoing membership. The place is clean and smells great. The bed was spotless. He reviewed everything with my thoroughly. The sweetheart of a dog, Lola-I believe, is also a huge bonus! I've been coming here pretty regularly for a few weeks now, not to get a tan but in an effort to help mitigate the effects of psoriasis, which I unfortunately suffer from. I chose this salon for a few reasons: 1. Their website was very comprehensive, with each tanning bed explained and prices clearly stated. I was able to go in with an idea of what I needed, and I already knew what I could expect to pay. As someone who hates to call for information or do a lot of shopping around, this was a big plus for me. 2. Their location is close to my office, and 3. Their hours are very convenient. I work overnight, so the fact that their hours extend well beyond the standard 8-5 (which is when I am sleeping) was fantastic. Troy was wonderful in helping me get my unlimited monthly plan set up, and he explained everything very clearly. I especially like that he tailored his approach not toward helping me get a tan (which again was not the goal), but towards what would be best for helping my skin to clear up. I'm positive I'm not the first person to tan for this reason, and it was reassuring that he had knowledge on this particular condition and recommendations for the best bed to use, and how often to tan in the beginning. I've been going 2-4 times per week and the staff has always been very friendly and accommodating. The place is seriously immaculately clean like other reviewers have mentioned. I never have to wait for bed. I never feel rushed in or out. It's overall a pleasant experience, and one I was initially apprehensive about because I'd never tanned before. If you have psoriasis and have been considering the tanning bed to help, then I would highly recommend this salon, especially if you're like me and have been on the fence it! I used to say I would never go tanning. I associated tanning salons with orange, leather-skinned, cancer-prone people. Besides, if I wanted to look tan, all I had to do was hang outside for a few hours. No biggie. On a fellow Yelper, Lori S's glowing review, I decided to try sunless tanning before my trip to Miami. I was not disappointed in the results. As a matter of fact, no one noticed I got this sunless tan, but complimented me on my pretty skin. Troy does give great directions on how to get the best results. Here are my tips & observations to the virgin sunless tanners. 1. Try it out once before your major event, about 2 weeks prior. It gives a dark color and if you want just a slight glow, you might be a little surprised. 2. Before going, exfoliate your body & face. Do not moisturize. 3. Wear clothes you won't mind getting a little color on them. Let's face it, you are getting sprayed with dark color all over your body. You are going to get stains on your clothes when you put them back on. Everything comes out in the wash, so don't worry. 4. There is a distinct smell to the spray that lasts about a day. If you've tried self tanners before (like Jergens lotion), you'll recognize it. 5. Make sure all your hair is covered with the cap Troy gives you. 6. Take Troy's instructions about the barrier cream very very seriously. He will tell you to take your time applying it on various parts of your body that should stay clear of the spray. 7. Do not shower for at least 8 hours afterwards. Don't be alarmed when color comes off in the shower, even 8 hours afterwards. read more

I needed a bit of color and I wasn't about to put my pasty Irish skin at risk with some crazy tanning bed. After the occasional traumatic attempt with at-home self tanners, I decided to try out a professional spraytan. After reading the reviews here and finding a 50% off coupon on Simply Sun's website, I was sold. I stopped in close to their closing time with no appointment and I was the only client in there. Troy took great care of me and was very thorough in his explanation as to how not to get all streaky. While the actual experience of the spraytan itself isn't all that enjoyable, the after effects are quite lovely. Well, once the obvious tanner smell wears off, which took about 2 days for me. Will I be back? Tough call. Troy offers plentiful options to get the glowing, bronzed body everybody wants for the summer. I have been going to Simply Sun for a few years now and Troy and his staff takes good care of me. My fair skin and blond hair don't lend to the best tan but by the time I'm leaving for the beach I have a great base tan so I don't burn to a crisp. Simply Sun has a couple different bed options and I typically choose the standup 7-minute bed. I can get in and get out and don't feel like I have wasted my entire day laying in a bed to get some sun.
