We are working with Jessica for our wedding cake. She has been easy to work with and is very sweet. Our tasting was a lot of fun and we loved all of the treats that she prepared for us. We like the fact that our trading ads private, not with a group and coffee, tea and water were included. Jessica was so nice and had great ideas and suggestions for us. Her cakes are stunning and if you stalk her Instagram you'll see all her gorgeous designs. The shop is absolutely adorable so you must stop in. It's a sweet tooth heaven with jars of candy, cookies, cakes and cupcakes galore. Do yourself a favor and get a salted caramel macaroon, you will thank me later! Macaroons and mini cupcakes are yummy, but way too pricey for a few bites at $2.50 and $2.00 respectively. I wanted to order a birthday cake but about fell over when told the price for an 8 inch cake was $65 PLUS an additional $5 to write 'happy birthday'. Seriously. I asked if this included flowers or any type of decorating and was told it would be an additional fee and that I needed to talk to the owner. Thanks but no thanks. I stopped in again the next week to pick up a few treats. There was one person working in the back and she seemed quite put off that she had to stop what she was doing to wait on me. I dunno, this place has great potential. The seating area is really cute and cozy and if it wasn't so expensive, maybe it would be a nice place to grab coffee and a sweet. But it was empty both times I was there and the bakery case wasn't even half full, telling me they really aren't selling a whole lot. The limited hours are puzzling - closing time is 3pm. I'll stop in to get the kids a cupcake when we're in town, but that's about the extent of it. I have no use for a $65 birthday cake. read more

We booked Jessica at Simply Sweet for our wedding! The first time we walked in to the cute boutique bakery, the smells were intoxicating. So many yummy looking desserts in the cases and adorable wall displays of candy. We had our cake tasting which was so fun! She had so many books of designs to choose from and they brought us out a mini buffet of all the flavor combinations. Even though we sort of knew the design of how we wanted our cake, we thoroughly enjoyed taste testing and sipping on coffee while getting to know Jessica and vice versus. She was super kind and listened to our thoughts and wrote down everything we liked. ALL of the flavors and cupcakes were SO good. Our wedding day went so wonderful and our dessert table was a hit!! We absolutely cannot wait to order a small version of our wedding cake for our anniversary. We will continue to come back for little sweet treats! Oh and another awesome fact, Jessica works closely with the florist shop across the street, Monarch, who we also used for our wedding. They are a dream team together. Highly recommend!! I was hoping I would love this bakery, but I found the cupcakes to be rather dry. Unfortunately it was nothing to write home about.

I ordered a carrot cake for my father-in-laws small birthday party. It was a late order so we had to get an 8 inch instead of a 6 inch. Wow, it was amazing! My wife had to hide the rest in the freezer before I inhaled it all. I will be going back for more cake, and more... If you need any dessert, I would call Jessica first. You will love it! read more

As a cupcake critic, it's hard to say the cupcakes here are "my fav", but easy to say they're in the top five! I had the lemon cupcake with lemon custard filling and a lemon buttercream. If you like lemons, then this is the perfect cupcake for you. read more

Worst customer service I've ever experienced. I called on a recommendation- they were clearly busy but unnecessarily rude in saying they couldn't talk, but took my number. Never called back so I returned. Was told they could throw together a cake but I'd have to go to Hobby Lobby to add butterflies. I could barely get a word in edgewise, but finally said you clearly don't have the capacity or interest in doing this cake. I can absolutely appreciate a busy schedule and lack of capacity, but your rude behavior is unacceptable to those trying to support local small business. read more

The deserts were delicious and the presentation was beautiful but that did not make up for my overall negative experience with Jessica for my Wedding. The customer service and her communication were terrible. I wish we had searched around more before blindly going with the recommendation from our wedding planner. We were excited to support a local small business, however Jessica did not seem to value or need this support. To name a few pieces that contributed to our bad experience: 1. There were costs ($500 worth) that we were not told about until the week before our wedding, she charges a pricey delivery, set up, and pick up fee (this would have been fine, had we known about it ahead of time). There was also a $50 tasting fee (which we did know about, but is kinda crazy when you are spending a few thousand dollars on deserts from her that it would not be included) 2. We paid for expensive deserts that were not eaten. I repeatedly stressed that I DID NOT WANT to save any of the cake, yet the next day I found the top tier of the cake saved in the fridge and we also had a plethora of extra deserts. During the wedding when they were cutting the cake, my Dad told them to cut it all- the workers did not believe him, apparently and ignored him. The week before the wedding we had a lot of discussion around my fear of having too many deserts..... I was not heard. 3. The Gluten free cupcakes were not labeled (much good that did, glad we paid extra for those so the able intestined folks could unknowingly enjoy them and not my Celiac diseased Maid of Honor). 4. Whenever I tried to contact Jessica- a total of 4 times in the planning process- it took me 3 emails on average to get a response back; until we were talking about her getting paid 2 weeks prior to the wedding, then she responded withing hours. She had misplaced our order ( I booked her almost 6 months in advance) and needed to know again what it was that she was making for us. I was planning from a distance, so communication was probably top on my list of important expectations from a vendor. Unfortunately, I would not choose to support this business again could I go back in time and would not recommend them to future brides. read more
