Crepes
Jason S.

Delicious. Had the bacon/egg/cheese with normal crepe. It was really nice and savory with a sweetness from the crepe. My wife has the Nutella and banana. Heads up it is hard to eat without a fork and knife. Get ready to get some of that yummy Nutella on you hands and face. But all pure fun. Enjoy a nice seat by the street. I love that they only change $.50 for a bottled water.

This was my serving time here and it was even better than the first time. They've updated the inside and it's so cute! We had snickerdoodle and chocolate chip cookies, cappuccino, iced chai, and iced coffee. Everything was delicious and the service was fantastic!

Breton cake

Adorable storefront in downtown Charlevoix recommended by a friend! As I walked in, I was immediately hit with the delicious and comforting smells of baked goods aka butter. Their laminates (croissants, kouign amann, etc) are fairly reasonably priced but I was feeling the buttery shortbread-like stuff so I picked the Breton Cake (like a cross between a shortbread and poundcake)! It was delish - the perfectly dense puck was exactly as described and hit the spot. Would be great in the afternoon with some espresso! I also ordered a buckwheat crepe - with spinach and mushroom. Couple of stand out things: 1) the custom packaging is so smart! You rip along the perforated edges as you ear so you can hold it 2) they really think about the textures - I was worried that the spinach would make it super soggy but I could see that they chopped it up finely and sautéed it. Really like the buckwheat over a regular all purpose flour crepes! Saving the best for last - coffee ice cubes!!!!! Apparently they don't have regular ice cubes. So I had to get an iced beverage. Ordered an iced chai for a dirty chai situation. There's some tables out front but get your crepe & eat it marina-front!

Small venue. Only one bistro table. Standard bakery items: croissants, pastries, etc.

Food. We arrived just before it closed, and so the offerings were limited to few baked items on display. So we only had the Ted Lasso shortbread. AH-mazing: crisp, buttery, good balance of sweetness. Funny how simple ingredients ingredients can blow you away.... Maybe it is the presentation and packaging? Or. Quality ingredients? C'mon... it's name is "THAT French Place". Service and ambiance. Want to turn off customers? Give an annoyed vibe about half hour before closing and say, "Can I help you find something?", especially when you have a few items left on display in your VERY small bakery with a couple bistro tables. And, turn up the AC to freeze people out. Parking and things of note. Street parking. Overall, underwhelmed except for the shortbread.

Cute pastries. Mmmm

The best cinnamon roll in my life - perfect amount of crunch and moist with cream cheese icing - will never forget it!

A nice location in Charlevoix to order up delicious crepes and cappuccino or coffee for take out to the bay park steps away watching the ship sailing to the island under the raised bridge on a beautiful fall day. We especially loved the banana/Nutella and Apple cinnamon crepes, with a side of cinnamon muffin! Excellent food and service!

Drip coffee was passable. Breton cake was pretty good. I would have tried the crepes but didn't want to wait.

The food is very good although it's expensive. Service is pretty solid besides the crapes usually taking 30-40 minutes.

I recently stopped in on July 4th and picked up a dozen red, white and blue decorated cookies to bring to a friend's house that was entertaining. I found some with fireworks decorations and some with smiley faces. Needless to say, they were well received by the hostess and the guests enjoyed them. Even on a busy holiday morning, there were delicious looking donuts and baked goods, and the aroma brought back all kinds of emotions from my childhood too. Johan's is old school but that never goes out of style. Service was not the friendliest but it was not bad. You order at the counter and pay and you're out... easy peasy. While I took my cookies to go, there are some tables outside if you wanted to sit down for a few and enjoy your treats there. If you're in the area, definitely stop by Johan's for a tasty pastry (or two) and cup of coffee!

Everything we tried in our flight was delicious and we ended up with bottles of everything to bring home. My personal favorites were of course the hard red but also the cheeky cherry, which is a sweet cherry wine and the botanical which is a semi sweet pear tasting cider. Service is always friendly and accommodating. On our way out, we visited the farm shop and picked up some cheeses and a apple cider donut for the road. Cheers!
