This was the worst dentist office I have ever visited. I came in for a cleaning this morning…read more(routine). Instead, of a cleaning, they processed me for 5m, took some x-rays and proceeded to clean half my teeth (the bottom half) before sending me on my way... They also lied and told me I needed two fillings due to a cavity and a groove in my tooth. When I got a second opinion (from my old family dentist), none of these things were found. When I inquired as to if this was normal. I was told that due to my being 15m late, I would have to schedule another appointment (since apparently cleanings take about 1.5hr at this place). My thoughts: I was late so I accept that it will cut into my appointment. However.. 1.5hr is not a reasonable expectation for a routine cleaning. I've seen 3 different dentists in the last 5 years (due to my being a traveling consultant), and the longest session I've had was 45m in San Francisco. If cleanings are 1.5hr regularly for new patients. Why was I not informed of this. All they did in the session today was scrape my bottom teeth (no fluoride or anything else). edit: they also lied and said that I needed two fillings due to a cavity and an apparent groove in one of my teeth. Obviously I went for a second opinion to my family's dentist. To my (not) surprise, my family's dentist said there was no cavity. He also showed me the x-rays that he had taken of me from last June and compared it to the ones which Brentwood Dental Group forwarded. The difference was like night and day. The x-rays from Brentwood Dental group were grainy and you 'could' argue that there was a cavity there (there was a shadow in a very murky and grey picture). My family dentist's x-rays were crisp and clear (the contrast between white and black was very crisp). He then showed me the areas which I had been told had a cavity and told me that in his opinion, it was fine. There was no pain and there wouldn't have been that much degradation since last June. There was no need to unnecessarily drill my teeth unless I really wanted to. I would highly recommend everyone to avoid this dentist group as they run the place like an apple store. Hiding under the guise of expertise to upsell you bullshit you don't need.

The problem was that it was a filling on a baby tooth with no adult tooth to replace it (surely a byproduct of inbreeding). Since this once-invincible baby tooth no longer had a filling holding it together, it started falling apart in little chunks...not the most pleasant experience. It was awkward eating, things were constantly getting stuck in there and I realized that my dream of looking like a pirate could come to fruition at the tender age of 32. Gah. So not ready for this destiny. My friend James suggested that I see his dentist and I jumped to contact him. I gave the office a call, they worked around my schedule, staying late at work so that they could see me that very day. Ah-may-zing. Within 30 mins --if that-- my snaggly-crumbly tooth was transformed into a brand spanking new, full tooth. Insane. So smooth, so perfect. Chewing was/is basically euphoric. I don't know how they did that so quickly and perfectly but basically I'm happily indebted to them for saving me from needing to poke out my eye and purchase a parrot. I can continue being compared to plus-sized redheaded celebrities instead of Captain Jack Sparrow. Things could be worse. Kensington Dental Clinic for the win!

Hello, Re: Filling…read morenot done. I am upset with my last visit.(previous ones as well. I only come to this office as it is close to my work) I have been coming to this dentist for the past 7 years and I had enough! 1. My appointment was at 1:40 but I didn't see the Dr until 2:20. I have a 4 month old baby at home waiting for me at home and had arranged for someone to look after him. Time is money and I felt it was a waste of my time and money to come in and not get my treatment done. 2. I came specifically to have filling done and I have an email confirmation that I didn't need consultation for the splint nor did I want any other consultation. 3. I said specifically to the assistant that I don't need a consultation as well as to the doc that I didn't need one. Almost every time I go in someone is measuring the movement of my molars and the gum tissue! ( why am I paying for this?)Then I was told I need a night guard which was just pushed on to me and you tried to charge me for it right away! $450. I said no as I don't want to pay for something that just recommended. It's not something I need! I told this office and many of u that my gums and teeth have been the same for over 20 years! And my previous visit showed that there hasn't been any change from previous X-rays! 4. As for the filling .. this was not done because the doctor said it was too much going on to have filling done and mouth guard . He said it best to have mouth guard done first as the filling can wait. What!?!? Shouldn't filling be done first then a custom mouth guard? What if the filling is fill different from what was there and mouth guard doesn't fit? 4. Then I am charged $107 for a consultation that was not welcomed nor asked for. If my insurance doesn't pay for it then a reimbursement will be asked for any amount not covered by insurance. I wasn't even advised of any fee before hand. 5. I am so upset about this ordeal that I thinking to report this incident to the dental association. College of Dental Surgeons of B C500-1765 8th Ave W, Vancouver BC V6J 5C6, 604-736-3621 6. I would like all my dental records to be sent to another dentist that I will provide at a later time.
