OTHER PLACES NO MANNERS: I also wish everywhere wasn't so bad! I put off my surgery about 4 years due to OTHER places making jokes TO MY FACE. I even went to women surgeons who were still incredibly rude and hurtful. all of them didn't just turn down my surgery needs they roasted me and some called in coworkers to laugh at me and what I needed. Other than Sharper I have a lasting hatred of plastic surgeons because of all the consultations I went to in indiana searching for an open minded surgeon. SHARPER BEDSIDE MANNER: I finally went to Sharper! They were very understanding of the emotional toll I was experiencing from my body problems! They never made fun of me and they knew I was struggling just by seeing my shape and they knew it effected my ability to live a typical life. So with them and doctor Harper I got my surgery done! GREAT SCAR RECOVERY: They were very cautious for my scarring because I needed a very tricky situation. They shaped the scar to be curving and very flattering looking on the body. At this point now I can't even see the scar so it's double perfect! And it was a huge surgery for me. About 1/13th of my body weight taken off. And no it's not a common surgery I do not think anyone can guess what it was. So the scar was completely unavoidable and very difficult to complete this well. The scar is 19 inches long, and my body circumference there is only 31.5 inches, so it was a huge task, but it's a perfectly done scar considering I don't see it haha. RECOVERY: In about 6-8 weeks I was allowed and able to slowly go into exercising and getting blood flow back in my body. He did very well and kept all trauma to the body as minor as possible. I was very impressed how delicately he did such a tricky surgery! HAPPIER THAN HAPPY: I won't say what exact surgery, I will say this though, I feel like my life has been saved, and I WAS GIVEN A SECOND LIFE, and that my life started over. It was like everything bad that caused my need for surgery never even happened. I had so much physical pain and serious issues that happened everyday, and he helped me take away all of it. CHOOSE SHARPER FOR SURGERY! There aren't people out there like him. And the world needs more of him! I will say it looks like he's likely done 20 years of schooling and serious training prior to even opening a practice. I am very inspired by him and he helps people who are helpless and want a second chance at life. The emotional difference has been so positive. I get to live a boring and normal life now!!! It was very hectic and negative before because of how people perceived me. And I am so grateful for my life back. And I'm grateful the staff and Dr harper gave me respect and dignity on the way to giving me a life.

I've had BBL (laser) treatments more than 10 times across the U.S. and Korea over the past two…read moreyears, so I am very familiar with proper technique, settings, and overall treatment flow. From the beginning of this session, something felt off. The sound and delivery pattern were inconsistent compared to what I've experienced before, and even the number of passes between areas was not consistent. At that point, I questioned whether the provider had been properly trained. I asked if the settings were correct, and instead of providing a clear explanation, the provider simply said it was "normal," despite visibly hesitating and appearing unsure. There was also a lack of technical precision. Areas that require careful technique, such as around the nose, were not treated appropriately, and no adjustment in tip size or approach was made. Communication was also inadequate. Since my eyes were covered, I expected the provider to clearly explain what treatment was being performed at each step, but that did not happen. There was little to no explanation throughout the procedure. The most critical issue was the Skin Smooth treatment itself. Normally, this involves 1-3 uniform passes across the full face. Instead, the provider repeatedly treated both cheeks excessively--approximately 50 passes per side, almost at a level that felt like continuous rubbing--while completely skipping the forehead. I have never experienced this level of repeated passes or heat buildup in any BBL treatment, whether in the U.S. or Korea, and it was very concerning. Because I had already questioned the settings at the beginning, I chose not to interrupt further and assumed there might be a reason. However, after reviewing standard BBL Skin Smooth protocols, this approach does not align with accepted practice. Even if a more aggressive or targeted method was intended, there should have been a clear explanation provided. This level of repetitive energy stacking on one area raises serious concerns about over-treatment risk, uneven results, and clinical judgment. No explanation was given for this approach. I have previously had to switch providers at this clinic due to inconsistency. While I had a better experience with another provider, this visit highlights a broader issue: a lack of consistent training and standardization across staff. For a procedure that relies heavily on technique and precision, this is not acceptable. I am requesting a clear and detailed explanation of the technique, settings, and rationale used during my treatment.

Lewis of Canfield, OH, performed revision rhinoplasty on me at the Gillian Institute in Indianapolis, IN. The results were and continue to be disastrous. After contacting a lawyer about suing for his medical license--something I'd never done before in my life--I discovered Mr. Lewis had already been sued at least 10 TIMES in the state of Indiana. He's mysteriously won every lawsuit, including a case where the tip of a woman's nose turned black and *fell off of her face* after Lewis performed surgery on her. I'd had rhinoplasty in my home state at age 14 which turned out beautifully. I loved the results, and the teasing stopped at school. When I moved to Indiana at 40, I developed severe allergies and mild asthma. Local Lafayette, IN, ENT Dr. Joseph Bremmer suggested septoplasty to increase my nasal cavity space and assured me it would not affect aesthetics. He was wrong on both accounts, and his surgery left me with nasal valve collapse. A different ENT told me rhinoplasty would be the only way to restore my breathing, which is why I sought Dr. Robert D. Lewis in the first place. Mr. Lewis had excellent online reviews. Even now (Feb 2023), when I look on sites like Real Self dot com and Health U.S. News dot com, all I see are highly curated five-star reviews for a man who should never be allowed to perform surgery again. I've personally learned those sites cannot be trusted. Moving forward, Yelp and Google are probably the only reviews I'll take into consideration. Robert D. Lewis of Canfield, OH, and the Gillian Institute of Indianapolis, IN (run by Dr. Kimberly Short) should not be allowed to perform rhinoplasties on anyone, ever again. Lewis never showed up for ANY of our post-op appointments, and the people who work at the Gillian Institute know what a horrific 'doctor' Lewis is. I've now paid an extra $25K in an attempt to restore my aesthetical nose and nasal airways, but Lewis decimated my nose so badly that restoration may never be possible. I never want anyone else to go through what I did with Dr. Robert D. Lewis of Canfield, OH, and the Gillian Institute of Indianapolis, IN, and I hope this review saves someone from Lewis' traumatic hammer & chisel. I also hope he loses his medical license. He's not fit to perform rhinoplasties, period.

Aqua Aesthetic can be hard to find (it's in a strip mall) and it may not look like much from the outside, but once you go past the waiting area to the service rooms you feel like you're deep inside a spa. Dark lighting, relaxing music...just what you would expect! Ashely's facials are wonderful and very thorough...my skin feels baby soft afterward. Great if you have problematic skin or acne like me. My only beef is that it's about a 20-30 minute drive from where I live, but Ashley & Aqua Aesthetic are worth it!
