I called Simpson Electric for some fairly extensive office renovations. Nic was able to come out and give an estimate within a few days. The quote was very reasonable for the work. We had them install overhead lighting, outlets, and light switches as well as fix some outlets that had stopped working. They made sure to take care of the important things first so that we could pass a building inspection. Nic and Jesse are both very professional. I had talked to several different electricians about our needs and Nic was by far the most helpful. I noticed other electricians didn't have the highest safety standards (which is pretty frightening), but that definitely wasn't a problem with Nic or Jesse. We have very high ceilings so when we needed overhead lights installed, Nic took care of getting a lift delivered. He also recommended someone to fix some holes in our drywall and checked in to make sure it was a good recommendation. Nic was assigned to me through our home warranty company. We were very pleased with his work and thoroughness He arrived on time and actually on Memorial Day. We were having an issue with our heater that had to do with an electrical issue. He spent the time to check all of our panels, went up to our dusty attic, through different rooms to try and figure out the issue. I failed to mention we had a 3rd panel that he discovered 2 hours later and he was very patient. It ends up the panel I failed to mention and he discovered was the cause of the problem. He was able to make a temporary fix while waiting for the home warranty to approve. After the home warranty approved for him to complete the repair he came back the next day and did a fine job. Had a challenging project to hang a custom built chandelier on a 20 foot ceiling in a tight space. The two-man crew from Simpson took extra special care to plan everything out to ensure smooth sailing once they were up on the ladder (which was huge!). He initially came out, did the assessment, offered a couple of different options, and I chose the cheaper option. When the job was scheduled, he was there on time, did the job I asked in timely fashion, and I'm quite pleased with the results. I'm only able to write this review because of Nic and Jesse! Our power was going in and out all day, and when PG&E came, they saw sparks and burn marks on our main panel. We had to shut off power around 10:30 the night before July 3rd, which was a holiday for many. We called six electricians that night trying to find someone but only getting voicemail. Nic texted back almost right away saying he would come first thing in the morning. He arrived promptly in the morning and looked everything over. Super polite and courteous, very knowledgeable, and he never tried to push us into more expensive options. Instead, he just let us know what could be done. We ended up choosing to replace the entire panel, and he and his brother started it that morning. They were here until 8:00 pm working non-stop. Super friendly and professional, and when they needed to come into the house, they even took off their shoes and were very careful to keep things clean. Overall, they were FANTASTIC. "A job well done"! to Nic and his crew, after installing what Nic called the "Trifecta" of electrical jobs: Install new main service panel, inside distribution panel and hooked up an electric car charging station at the front porch ( with an extra 110 volt outlet ) all in one day! I was recommended to Simpson Electric by our community email group. It was a great recommendation and we were extremely pleased with how our home ended up. Nic was able to solve some very complex problems with how to get recessed lighting in our ceiling that is over 18 feet high and has a narrow to non-existent crawl space. I had met with 2 other people, one was not licensed, and both were trying to charge more for the high ceiling. His experience and acumen are very impressive. He even asked if he could fix any other electrical issues I might have. He did a tour and noticed we had a poor job done by the prior owner in our room above our bed with 2 cans. He said, let me change those out for you and get them upgraded at the cost of only the parts. He threw it in as part of what we already agreed upon. His work was very neat and well done.
