Unassuming bar just outside the Temple Bar area. Feels less like a traditional pub, and more like a contemporary version of a pub. You order at the bar, then find a place to seat, so no hassle with ordering/paying/tipping. There are several distinct areas to hang out, including a stage in the back for live performers. While there, the music was spot on with 80's classics, so you had time to chat with your table and enjoy both the music and the beer, but I could see it getting a little more rowdy after the live music starts. read more

Second stop on the pub crawl organized by one of the tour groups, Sin É is less of a drinking establishment and more of an entertainment joint. They have a big stage area that is easily viewed from much of the place. But even without the band on stage, it was super loud here. I opted for a Whiskey Sour and it was excellent. A whole lot of effort went into the making of this drink and it tasted perfect. As it should for a discounted price of €9! Nice place, very loud, not my favorite of the pub crawl though. read more

Sin É is in my little list of places worthy of my money and time on a Friday night. Both the crowd and staff are usually friendly - even the doormen are surprisingly sound here, as opposed to other late venues around town where they feel the need to look and act grumpy. Nothing's pretentious about the place, which is almost refreshing in Dublin. Another good thing is that they serve drinks swiftly enough, even if you ask for cocktails. Last but not least, you'll get a good selection of music flowing, not overly commercial. If it looks too packed upstairs, try the basement for a comfy seat. read more

Sin è is the perfect spot to escape the madness of the city centre. Right across the Liffey from Temple Bar, its chilled-out atmosphere appeals to customers who want a more mature drinking experience. I went here on a Friday night and the place was packed, but there was no pushing or shoving to get to the bar. Customers were not falling on the faces, completely drunk, either.The people who frequent this pub tend to be in their late 20s or 30s. I always go to Sin è when I want a civilized experience. This pub serves great food as well. I once got the best Bangers and Mash. The potatoes were creamy and the sausages were swimming in brandy sauce. There are so many good reasons to go to Sin è: the food, the atmosphere, the people and the country pub feel. read more

One of my favourite pubs in Dublin. This is a boozer an gaeilge, so you'll find that the toilets are indicated in Irish, for example. They do have loads of great beers on tap, and soundwise it's somewhere between 70ies Tarantino-soundtracks and alternative rock. The atmosphere is that of a relaxed rock bar on weekdays and early weekend evenings - the atmosphere in the basement club is something different though when the night wears on. The last time I partied here I found myself dancing limbo under a broom, while a girl I didn't know was drinking from the pint in my outstretched hand. Oh, and they have free wi-fi. read more

I think I can safely say this is my favourite bar in Dublin right now. Drinks - good selection of craft and regular beers. It's hard to find this balance. You go to Mulligan's in Stoneybatter and hear people ask for Guinness or Heineken and they are almost spat on by the bar staff. It's good to have BOTH. Don't be a snob about beers. Some people just want a Heineken. Regular drink promos too and the cocktails are pretty tasty. Staff - Super nice, friendly an attentive. Food - They do these pizzas which although frozen amazingly taste pretty darn good and they offer a pizza and a pint for a tenner which is a great offer. I do believe they are expanding the food from frozen pizzas to other things in the near future, hot wings and the likes. So I am excited to see what they will be doing!! Music and entertainment - So most of the time there is a mix of indie, rock and a bit of metal when there is no live music on stage. There is a stage at the back which I performed on myself a few weeks back and this stag has everything from burlesque, bluegrass, metal, folk, drag etc. etc. They have a listing outside of what is on that week. Some really good live stuff happening here with quite the focus on local talent which is seriously lacking in a lot of places. There are DJ's who play also at the weekends after the live sets - DJ Oran being my favourite as he plays Rammstein and the likes! Atmosphere and crowd - Atmosphere is really fantastic and the crowd, whilst very very mixed sometimes, has always been friendly and fun. So yeah this is probably my favourite pub in Dublin right now! read more

This place was rockin' on a Thursday night. They play the oldies but goodies, mixed in with more modern beats. It's definitely not a club type atmosphere and that is what I like! It is very relaxed, infact, some drunk guy in a suit tried to come up and steal my friends Guinness right off the table! He stopped him and told him to get lost, No further issue. Haha! The only thing that bugs me about this place it that the smoking area closes at 8 pm and you have to excuse yourself through the crowd to get out front. read more

After Dice bar closes and you're still in the mood to party with a similar easy-going crowd, there's no need to worry. Siné serves up the good times until late-o'clock. Just as Dice, Siné's crowd is usually good and honest party-folks in there for the tunes and eclectic vibe. When it finally gets time to go, you might see the same happy bunch spilling out onto the street, continuing with the merriment while trying to find yet another party. If you tag along, you might find yourself in some hilarious situations. read more

This is definitely one of my preferred late night bars around the city. Went in there on Saturday and they had a DJ playing mostly indie-vibed stuff which I haven't heard around town very often. There's always a good vibe in there and a general friendly clientele, as well as cool bouncers / staff. Can't say better than that really. The only downside that I can find is that it can get really rammed sometimes and can be difficult to get to the bar / find a place to park yourself. I guess that's true of most places at 11pm on a Sat night though! read more

Sin É is somewhere I never frequent but I popped in with a friend to see a band I really like on Saturday and was pleasantly surprised. The pub is spaced over two levels and has a small smoking area locates at the front door, and when I visited, downstairs was playing host to a rather large birthday gathering with plenty of seated areas and space for mingling. Upstairs filled up really quickly by the time the support band were setting up to do their soundchecks and the bar got pretty busy. Staff were really nice and looked after the big cue of patrons really efficiently though and continued to be lovely throughout the night. There were a good few €5 specials too which swayed me even though I hadn't really planned on staying there for the night. The band they had in (Mutefish) were excellent and I really liked the small venue which facilitated a really intimate and fun gig with great sound. The DJ who played after the band was just my cup of tea as well, lots of rock, alternative, punk type music and took a couple of requests as well throughout the night and I ended up spending the night on the dance floor with a lovely mix of people. Definitely a venue I would return to for a good gig! read more

Very disappointing for a Dublin pub. I had heard rave reviews of it from friends and expected great things. Upon entering what looks on the inside like a misused shed, I found the staff gruff and ignorant. It is 17th March 2009 and the majority of Dublin establishments are suffering from an acute case of 'Darby O'Gill and the Little People' syndrome. The city has overdosed on begorrah-bejaysus-ness. But down on Ormond Quay in a darkened corner of Sin e, two Limerick rappers, both profane and hilarious, have taken to the stage, and there isn't a fiddle in sight. Sin e offers an alternative to the predictability of the Dublin pub scene with a hopping atmosphere and funky tunes, just made for dancing to. It has two floors and serves decent pub grub. It has a friendly, slightly hippie-dippie vibe and if you're lucky, you'll get chatting to some outlandish characters on the dancefloor. read more

3 euro pints of Guinness on a Sunday, yes please! Sin E makes for a fantastic watering hole to enjoy a pint after your Sunday ceremonial dinner. This charming pub along Dublin's quays isn't as bucolic as a lot of the pubs within the city centre that, certainly aesthetically and henceforth in the clientele they attract, radiate a more rural feel that is much closer to Celtic fables, but instead adopts something more subversive in way of contemporary mahogany furniture more likely to be seen in a European bistro where the soundtrack of ceramic plates, cups and/ or saucers hitting against each other as the staff try and serve everyone at high speed is heard and a jukebox boasting both classic and modern-day music - you could hear everything from Hank Williams to The Racounters during the period of one sitting. Fairy lights aplenty also move it away from the typical bucolic ambience seen in abundance within the centre of town. Sin E's location on the quays and away from the flurry of the city centre is therefore emblematic of it's overall vibe - contemporary yet loosely maintaining faithful to Celtic parable in way of quality drinks, recognizable countrified exterior and friendly staff. I love this place! Since it has reopened they have managed to hit a perfect mix of live music, savage djs and assorted shows. Occasional burlesque nights feature, as do evenings where they will play a full Irish album over the course of a night. Staff, bouncers included!, are never less than charming and knowledgable, also drinks are very reasonable and if you're feeling peckish you can get a pizza at the bar! read more

Great bar with great craic! I wandered into Sin E after a play at Smock Alley with some girlfriends - so glad we did. We got a little table at the front while a stellar cover band, wearing luchador masks, bunny hats, and other weird stuff, belted out Eminem! The whole dance floor and bar patrons were enjoying it! The barmen were really nice and attentive, something that can be hard to find! This was a great alternative to city centre bars and being on the Liffey, was just a great area to bar hop! read more

One of my regular spots in Dublin. They always have really good acts on everyday of the week covering all genres of music and late DJs at the weekend. The atmosphere is cosy and relaxed. The pub is a bit alternative but not pretentious. The Guinness is good and they have a wide craft beer selection if that's your jam. They also do pizzas (from frozen but good) and have a decent cocktail list which is usually my downfall. Great spot. read more

I had a great night out at Sin è - like Alexandra I ventured there on a Friday night and the place was rocking! Plenty of banter to be had here, and plenty of cool people to meet. This is one of those bars where you can actually hear yourself think (wow!) and it seems it's a good place for attracting future lovers... my friend met hers there! Sin è is a little way off the beaten track so it's more of a destination pub then a 'happen to be passing through' kinda place. However, Dice Bar is nearby, so why not hit up both and make a bit of a pub crawl of your night? read more

Excellent pub. Always a good atmosphere in the place. They never fail to have a big fat candle on each table so the lighting levels work really well. Pints are good as is the service. Music is always great. DJ's just spin great tunes from reggae to rockabilly, funk to ska. read more

Be wary of the alcohol in this place. Was a given a flat pint last Saturday and when I brought it to the attention of the manager, he was rude, aggressive and would not entertain the idea that it could be flat, even though it was obvious that it was flat. If I pay for a pint, I expect to be given a pint that I can drink. Didn't think that this was too much to expect. read more

Went here to watch the UFC fight and really enjoyed the downstairs basement set up. It felt like you were in someones house with nice, comfy leather couches and a good screen. The wings were delicious but a bit on the expensive-ish side at 7.50€. THe pints are decent value at 4€. The pub is quite cool in its decor and like the outdoor smoking area (not standing on the street outside). Live music also started playing and it was really good band. Only thing it seems a bit clicky here and not a normal friendly vibe. read more

The music is pretty great and it's good for dancing. However on two separate occasions in the space of a month I saw some of the worst bar customer service I've ever witnessed. Once while at a friends leaving doo a guy was buying a round and to make space for the barman he moved a new pint to another part of the bar. The wood of the bartop had a big dippy groove you wouldn't think to look for and the pint fell over and the barman refused to replace the pint. Another time my friend just bought a pint a fellow knocked really hard into her just as she left the bar and knocked the pint out of her hand. Not only were the staff unsympathetic they seemed unconcerned about broken glass and a very wet floor . read more

I'm very fond of Sin é. It's a little bit off the beaten track about half way down the Quays, but it's worth the trip. It doesn't have the same manic vibe that town/the city centre has because of this I think. It feels a bit like the people in here planned to go rather than dropped in in the hope of finding a seat or whatever! It's a great spot for a birthday party gathering or simply just a night out on the tiles. I've been loads of times and I always go back. It's loud, fun, atmospheric and reasonable - you never had to pay in before and I don't think you do now. And on top of all that it stays open late so you can bop the night away. I've been here earlier in the week as well when it's quiet and it's just lovely. read more
