Sin è is the perfect spot to escape the madness of the city centre. Right across the Liffey from Temple Bar, its chilled-out atmosphere appeals to customers who want a more mature drinking experience. I went here on a Friday night and the place was packed, but there was no pushing or shoving to get to the bar. Customers were not falling on the faces, completely drunk, either. The people who frequent this pub tend to be in their late 20s or 30s. I always go to Sin è when I want a civilized experience. This pub serves great food as well. I once got the best Bangers and Mash. The potatoes were creamy and the sausages were swimming in brandy sauce. There are so many good reasons to go to Sin è: the food, the atmosphere, the people and the country pub feel.

One of my favourite pubs in Dublin. This is a boozer an gaeilge, so you'll find that the toilets are indicated in Irish, for example. They do have loads of great beers on tap, and soundwise it's somewhere between 70ies Tarantino-soundtracks and alternative rock. The atmosphere is that of a relaxed rock bar on weekdays and early weekend evenings - the atmosphere in the basement club is something different though when the night wears on. The last time I partied here I found myself dancing limbo under a broom, while a girl I didn't know was drinking from the pint in my outstretched hand. Oh, and they have free wi-fi.

Cute little pub and music venue! Super crowded but it just adds to the atmosphere. We sat right next to the live band and it was amazing! I only wish they had more options for wines.

    Luchador masks!

Great bar with great craic! I wandered into Sin E after a play at Smock Alley with some girlfriends - so glad we did. We got a little table at the front while a stellar cover band, wearing luchador masks, bunny hats, and other weird stuff, belted out Eminem! The whole dance floor and bar patrons were enjoying it! The barmen were really nice and attentive, something that can be hard to find! This was a great alternative to city centre bars and being on the Liffey, was just a great area to bar hop!

I usually run a mile from late night clubs but happily spent the night on the dance floor in Sin é, bopping between lovely folk (local and international) who were all down for the craic.

It is believed that 'Temple Bar' street's name originated from 'Sir William Temple' from the 'Temple family (you can see the same on the outer wall of the pub) The most iconic pub in Dublin, the Temple Bar Pub, sits proudly on the corner of Temple Bar and Temple Lane South. With live music from 10:30 am every day, this is a pub with a party atmosphere all day long. I was amused at how many people popped in, snapped off a quick photo or a 30-second video, and then left without stopping for a drink. Then again, at €8 a pint, and it's one of the more expensive drinks in an already expensive city ( and I did the same in 2-3 pubs), and that's fine. Doesn't matter whether you wanna have food or drink here or not, but I would definitely recommend (in capital letters), have one drink here. Yes, it's expensive (just 3-4 euros more, come on), but the vibe, that's totally worth it. I truly believe, though, that if you're going to experience Dublin, then you can't leave without experiencing Temple Bar. I had like 4-5 drinks at different pubs, and though it's touristy and "trap"- I would come here again and again. No other place has a "temple bar pub ' vibe. There is always live music, the stage is rarely empty, and the diary is always full. The Temple Bar Pub is famed throughout Dublin for its lively, traditional Irish music scene. PS: don't get confused with Temple Bar at the end of every pub. Its neighborhood name (Temple bar neighborhood), and this pub is Temple Bar pub.

Is Temple Bar an overpriced tourist trap in a saturated area of Dublin? Yes…read more However, with that said, I feel it's a must-see for first time visitors. I went during my first trip to Dublin and not again until my boyfriend and I went to Dublin together. As it was his first visit, we had to go. The bar is always packed unless you arrive as soon as they open. It's not longer after opening time that it becomes a mad house well into the night. They've always got live music and proper Guinness pours (more $$ than elsewhere). So yeah, it's a tourist trap but it's also fun if you know what you're getting into and what to expect.
