Stopped by because our friend got takeout from this place and I absolutely loved the chicken. This was our first time here and it did not disappoint. The chicken was delicious - I also got the Sinbad burger. Chicken Tikka Plate: chicken was moist and fresh. The flavors were delightful. The rice had good flavor as well. It actually came with 3 small sides of hummus, garlic sauce, and beets. I've never really liked beets but I actually ate the beets this time because they were pickled. The hummus was alright. I didn't touch the garlic sauce but will do so tomorrow since I only had half the plate - the rest will be for lunch tomorrow. Sinbad Burger: the meat was super moist and juicy. It was actually a thin patty topped with beed shawarma. It was definitely delicious but what I really liked about it was the burger bun they used - it was soft and buttery. The fries were good as well but if I'm not mistaken, I think I got the fries from the prior customer who didn't want them (they then the fries back in the container where they kept them warm). Nevertheless they were good. I asked for a side of tzatziki sauce and it made the fries taste ever better. The staff was friendly. When we arrived the menu TVs weren't on so we had to wait for the English menu to become available (the menu is in Arabic but they have a man English one). Will I come back? The food is good, BUT the ILLEGAL practice of charging me a service fee without posting it anywhere will keep from returning. I refuse to go a place that has shady business practices. The law clearly states that there must be a visible notice before charging a service fee. I know it's only a few cents but it starts to add up when you have busy day. It took them 30 minutes to make my beef shawarma rap with fries. Others that got there before were being served and it an appeared to me that the owner knew these people and was giving them preference. I will not be returning. I enjoyed the beef Tikka plate with two skewers of beef tikka served over rice, some BBQ onions and tomatoes, with flatbread, and a Mediterranean salad I liked their special beef sauce that was on the side. Imagine his surprise when his bright red roasted beet salad arrived at our table. To say he was an unhappy camper would be a gross understatement. He felt stupid and embarrassed at the same time. The day before New Year's Eve, my friend invited me here for my lunch. They had just opened, so there were a bunch of bouquets and dates on the side counter. They also have ready fried chicken, chicken tenders, fried fish, french fries, biscuits, and homemade potato chips. I ordered the chicken shawarma wrap, which also comes as a plate or with beef. The wrap comes with fries, but I asked them not to put them in the wrap but on the plate. I also had a side of yellow basamti rice. The wrap, which was $8.99 plus tax, was quite good. The chicken had a very good flavor, but it was a little on the dry side. I was just glad its tastiness made up for the dryness. The pickles were tasty, and the garlic sauce was fire. It was great for dipping the whole wrap. The fries were decent, but the yellow rice was excellent. I liked it flavor and loose texture that it offered. The food was good and the service was friendly. The food itself was decent, but my friends and I noticed they added something sweet to the meet, which had a slight weird taste to it. The cashier was beyond friendly and was very helpful. We ordered burgers, chicken sandwiches, fried chicken, different Kabobs, and Mendi. Everything was fresh and delicious. I personally tried the chicken zinger sandwich, which was on point. Fresh tasty and hot. I also tried Abu Yonan burger, which was one of the best halal burgers I have tried in San Diego. I tried a little bit of the lamb mendi, which was juicy and tender. The best thing on the menu is the chicken Tikka. Unfortunately, they were out of beef Tikka. They have excellent customer service and very friendly staff. We ordered a lot of food and they were busy they forgot to bring one of our chicken Tikka. But they didn't charge us for any of the drinks we had.
